- I usually get a couple of cases a year and its horrible, theres really nothing you can do to save them, some can make it but a lot don't.
Why is it that its never the bad cows that seem to get things like this??
The weed is Datura stramonium: Common names vary and include thornapple, devil's trumpet, Jamestown weed, Jimson weed, stinkweed, locoweed, and false castor oil plant. The whole plant is quite strongly Hallucinogenic. I'd actually consider wearing gloves if pulling this one by hand.
I’ve treated 2 cows myself with 40mls of engimican a day along with 10mls of hemoplex milked them once a day and they came right both are in calf still and milking fine
I've done the same treated two cow's with engemycin and they came right and are incalf.
I am from India,i have master degree in chemistry but I want to move newzealand to work in dairy farm ,if there is any job opportunity please share with me
Thank you
When’s the new video coming out? Cheers
Heifers look fantastic. Thanks for your videos
Better weather
Great video, sorry about the sick stock you correct to not let them suffer
If it makes you feel any better i've got one aswell now how bout that.
Did the collar not pick up her condition?
It’s all part of farming!
Tell me about the heat we just had a week of 90 per cent humidity and 33 to 38 degrees temps here in Queensland Australia
Have a nice few days away bud.thanks for the catch up.
Sry about the cow Andrew love the videos 👍
👀🙄🐾👍Great video Andy shame about the cow
Did you not get any of the rain Monday /Tuesday?
Never heard of that disease before. At least the cow doesn't go to waste but still a loss for the farm. Enjoy your time away. 😊
It's spelt Theleria. Came to attention maybe 10 years ago or less, when Waikato had a bad drought, cows ŵere sent north for grazing.
I think it was on either their return or when perhaps after they arrived north they became ill as our grass goes to seed much earlier than say south of Auckland. So more ticks with stalky grass
U could try giving the herd a pour on called Bayticol coming into summer that stops the ticks, thats what we do, don't think it's to expensive 🤙
Sounds like a fun trip. Have a good time.
Hi I like your video
It is Soo sad when these things happen 😭
Don't shake the prickly pear, sa you transfer more seeds.
That's terrible. I have never heard of the disease.
Dang, yeah never the worst cow right
My top cow for PW ,last season had a displaced abomasom . Vet surgery but in the end she died 😕
That sucks!!
we have a weed that looks same as your prickly pear that we call Jimson Weed or sometimes stinkin toms.
Probably the same one, it does stink a bit too
Farming life.
I dont think that feeding diseased animals to our pets is a good idea!
How often do this seasons calves move to new grass?
Shift them everyday
is it a milk producing cow?
No actually she produced beluga caviar,
That’s why it’s such a big loss to the fam business
I have used the Theileria 'nosode' successfully on Theileria affected calves and cows. Before using this stuff I watched healthy cows and calves die slowly (takes 5-6 weeks) and told by vets there was nothing you could do.
Homeopathic Farm Supplies in Tirau have the nosode. Follow their guidance on administering. Cheap, non toxic, non withholding. Might be possibility to administer in trough pre tick season.
As it's a tick borne disease cant you use a treatment on your cattle
Yes ,there is a pour on, which is preventative measure against ticks but not a cure for any disease such as the mentioned Theleria
Where is your farm
I think this farm is in New Zealand.
@@Cricket2731No the farm is in Pakistan not New Zealand.
I live next door to this farm 👍
@@Cricket2731 I’m sure you know It’s in New Zealand 👍
@@tom4412 , that's what I thought! The gent's accent was a bit of a giveaway; I had a friend who lived in the Hawke's Bay area.
@@tom4412 Too green for Pakistan!
