So glad you've discovered The Bass Gang! The 4 members (Bobby Bass from Connecticut, Tomi P from Czech Republic, Marwan Ayman from Egypt, and Peter Barber from Virginia) until very recently had only collaborated virtually, with their parts recorded separately and videos done through green screen. Their first EP “May the Bass Be With You” covered four songs by Billie Eilish, their second EP had a guest artist for each song, and their third EP was recorded (mostly) in person -- Marwan wasn't able to join them due to Egypt being stupid and refusing to give him a visa to go to Brno. But the boys and their manager Casper Fox did a great job with the videos... they worked in Marwan's absence in a cool way. They also have some amazing singles, including Hooked On A Feeling feat. our friend Tim Foust from Home Free, and I highly recommend Hide and Seek feat. Lauren Paley. Honestly, you can't really go wrong with anything in their catalog! Enjoy...
#thebassgang is: Bobby Waters - aka BobbyBass dark hair with beard; Marwan Amon, egyptian young man, if memory serves, he was 17 or 18 at the time of recording; Peter Barber, shorter hair muscleyb and Tomas Pizur - aka TomiP, who arrainged and did the outro on this track. He is from the Czech Republic, thus his accent. Each of them have their own channels and covers, which are great in their own right. They, as mentioned, are an international virtual group. All their videos and production are coordinated online. It was not until last summer that any of them met face to face. The did a Kickstarter to raise funds to film the videos for "May the Bass Be With You, volume 3" EP. Sadly Marwan could not get his visa approval, so he could not join the others in the Czech Republic. They were pretty clever trying to work him into the videos virtually. Definitely would love to see more reactions to these guys! Like you said, they should have way more subscribers.
...And welcome to #thebassgang. I love them just as much as Voiceplay and Home Free... BTW, Elliot Robinson was Home Free's bass singer before Tim Foust. 🙂 Others already explained you how they've been "forced" to work as they live at the four corners of the world. But they transformed this potential disadvantage in a truly unique style of video making. 🙂 I'd suggest you to explore their production kinda chronologically... Or however you like 🙂. One of the guys, Peter Barber, is a professional Opera singer (bass... Duh! 😁) and also has a channel where he does reaction and analysis of musical videos. Due to their way of working, he's done "first reactions" to their own videos, for he couldn't see the finished product until the very end 😁, and it's very interesting because he gives a whole lot of informations about the hows and the whys of pretty much everything in the videos. And his enthusiasm is contagious and heartwarming. 🙂 One of their video I love the most is "Hide and seek" ft. Lauren Paley. Voiceplay did the same song with the same featured artist, they were released both about the same week, and there couldn't be two more different versions of that song 😅. Anyway... They're another very powerful (and beautiful) rabbit hole. I'm so happy you guys discovered them. 🙂 See you next time!
I enjoy these guys. and some of their videos are very funny. . Definitely try their ' Hooked On a Feeling " featuring Tim Foust . I also like their cover of " Gaston" from Beauty and the Beast.
#thebassgang are amazing! Thanks for checking them out. They have continually been growing and improving over the last few years and to see that has been awesome. This cover was from May the Bass Be With You Vol. 2, but we have since had Vol. 3 and several singles. My current favorite has been their cover of Jolly Sailor Bold....very haunting. As others have pointed out, with the exception of Vol. 3, the guys had never met in person, but unfortunately Marwan couldn't get to them for the meetup. But the majority of their videos are like this with them filming individually at their own locations and editing the video together later. They often have many versions of themselves on screen, layered, different sizes, different opacities. This video style used to drive me crazy because I felt it was just too much visually all at once. Then another reactor referred to their videos as living sheet music, and from that point forward I have really enjoyed their videos because that's such a true statement. It's fun to me now to look at the different versions of them and pick out who's doing what part at what time. I think you've been given information about the guys from other commenters, so I'll just say I'm looking forward to the next one.
That was a great version of "Mad World" & nice collaboration with The Bass Gang. Elliott Robinson is a great bass. I put him in the same league as Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. None of them use subharmonics. He joined Home Free as the bass in 2008 for a short time before Tim Foust. Another reactor "Qofyreacts" did a nice interview with Elliott Robinson last year.
Stan’s face was EVERYTHING. I remember the first time I saw this and I’m pretty sure I looked the same way. Bones, everything on V2, We Don’t Talk About Bruno, and of course their latest: If I Had a Heart. #bassgang Love what you’re doing! 👏🏻
Yay, Bass Gang! These guys are all from different parts of the world. Their first albumns are all done remotely, using green screen, then the individual tracks and vids on green screen are put together. One of them is Peter Barber, a professional opera singer who does a lot of reaction vids where he analyzes the music and vocal techniques. He has interviews with well known basses and other singers.Their most recent albumn includes songs/vids where they met in person for the first time, so you could check those out to see them interacting. Oh, and they did a song with Tim Foust from Home Free. I'm so glad to see you reacting to them!
They have grown so much in the last two years. Check out their latest, If I Had a Heart, which came out last week. And, of course, any of the other suggestions.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, Tim Foust was invited to sing with them for a terrific song “Hooked on a Feeling”. Listen carefully and hear Tim adding extra bass throughout the song way down in the grumbly low parts. A real upbeat song that sticks in your head.
Love the Bass Gang and this cover. Elliot Robinson is amazing, as are all the members of the Bass Gang. Check out Gaston next. It’s tons of fun. You might enjoy the Pentatonix version of Mad World. Very different, but also really good.
You need to check out the Disney one's they did, and do them is this order to follow the story. Arabian Nights, Be Prepared, Gaston, Friend like me and We don't talk about Bruno.
I thought I recognized Elliot from being in Home Free prior to Tim. I had watched or seen some photos or videos. These guys are so good. It’s a little odd hearing all bass singers, but they’re all very talented. I’m familiar with Peter Barber from his TH-cam channel, but didn’t know until last year that he was in the Bass Gang. So glad you reacted to them. Hopefully, you’ll react to more. One I would recommend is their cover of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” featuring none other than Tim Foust! It’s really great!
The members of Bass Gang are very good bass singers, but they each have some incredible range in their voices as well. I have heard whistle notes from them at times.
All of the guys have their own other projects/solo stuff as well. Tomi P (guy at end, Czech accent) did an amazing cover of hellfire, peter barber (fellow rector and also a professional opera singer, US)did an amazing cover of enemy. Marwan (youngest guy, egypt) has done some insane arrangements in the past. I recommend checking out his fully acapella "this is halloween" in 30 styles. Its spectacular. You then have Bobby Bass who is probably best known for his sea shanty stuff, he has a group called the wellermen and they did a cover of "Santiana" with the bass gang. Until the Disney volume (Vol 3) none of them had met in person. 3 of them met up but unfortunately Marwan had issues with his Visa. In that album each take the lead/titular character in the song they arranged. In order you have Arabian Nights (Marwan), Be Prepared (Tomi P), Gaston (Peter) and finally freinds like my (Bobby) Hopefully this was useful/gives people a few things to look at
Thank you guys for your awesome reaction. Love #BassGang. If you like Disney, I recommend their Disney EP to hear each member sing lead. I love their cover of bones. Fun fact: Elliot sang Bass with Home Free before Tim.
I think this is TBG’s bassiest bass song so far. TBH, they’re kind of all over the place-I mean, all their songs have strong bass, but some hit it really hard and others (comparatively speaking) don’t. Also, the choir thing-not so much in other songs. Yes, the guy with dreads is Elliott Robinson. In other songs different members of TBG do the vocal perc, and more recently they’ve decided to use samples so they can focus in on their strengths. I see a lot of recommendations but I suggest looking at something from each volume, just to see how much they’ve developed over the last couple years. Also check out Bones and If I Had A Heart, which aren’t part of their official volumes. I’d really love to see you check out Tomi P’s (the guy speaking at the end because he arranged this one) Lion. It hasn’t gotten nearly the attention it deserves. Also, Marwan Ayman’s channel has a lot of amazing music. Great reaction!!

Wow! Thanks for the information. Alot to look at and can't wait for the journey. Much appreciated

Gary Jules covered this song too... OG it was Tears for Fears

This one was incredible. They also do another song, "Hooked on a Feeling", featuring someone I think you will recognize.
We will have to check it out Joy ☺️

Great reaction! I agree with the others that suggested Hooked On a Feeling. It is awesome! The Bass Gang is another great a cappella group😊
Out now ☺️

#bassgang Loved your reaction, love the Bass Gang. Oh FYI Elliot was the base in Home Free before Tim !
Oh damn! Didn't know that
Neat I love Mad World and this is a great version. Acapella bass is so different from many harmonising collectives.
Thanks for showcasing this highly talented group. 😊
Our pleasure!

try their Flickerbeat. Incredible!
Thank you guys for your awesome reaction. Love #BassGang. If you like Disney, I recommend their Disney EP to hear each member sing lead. I love their cover of bones. Fun fact: Elliot sang Bass with Home Free before Tim.
Wow that's awesome! Thank you for sharing
#bassgang are amazeballs
Defintely!
Peter Barber was responsible for Yellow Flicker Beat ft Colm McGuiness in Bass Volume II.
If you want to have your insides turn to jelly listen to their version of Jolly Sailor Bold.
I'd like to also suggest Centuries with Johnathan Young.
