please continue to produce the series, it is really calming to watch your stuff when I am struggling with colds 🙏
(and I enjoy it at others times, this is just currently applicable 🤒)
ooooooh seeing all the missions on the side get filled out today felt soooooo good, keep up the good work. your voice and your content make for really pleasing brain hours. i have a pretty monotonous job and when i get something relatively chill and engaging to watch my hands just go brrrrrr so yeah ty for the extra help at work haha
@@grzegorzq3934 I work solo on a portion of a big science experiment and mainly tinker with small things with my hands. My ears are free to listen to whatever I want and I can look back and forth to keep track of both :D
Woo the hydra is back!
I love the fact it has multiple bosses for stage 1 & 2, I'd love it if stage 3 has a few options too
This game is harder than you make it look. I just won my first run using lots of countdown with shielding and poison. Also had a crazy shield scaling run but swapped my 1 damage card out by mistake and got soft locked in a fight lol.
Retro does do a good job putting thought behind his actions.
@@LaserStorm117he sure does, watching him taught me a lot about how to play these kind of games
Reto the god!
Same thing for Wildfrost. It got shit on in the reviews because it's pretty darn difficult if you don't put some actual effort into your strategies, and lots of streamers and youtubers got absolutely clowned on while playing, meanwhile Retro just blitzed through it and made it look like a cakewalk.
At this point Reto is just like that. I guess what you have to do is keep monitoring what works and what doesn't, and try to guess why those things work and those other things don't
At first, your way of making sense of the game is like trying to hold on to loose sand, but eventually you'll become more observant and insightful; you'll start to understand what things are relevant to consider and which not as much. Games like these are essentially instantiations of (virtually ill-defined) problem-solving. Eventually you'll become so good at learning and approaching these games it feels as comfortable and fun to play these games to you as it feels to Reto
Or so my hypothesis, constructed from what I know of psychology, would be ^^
Glad to see more of the series!
such a hidden gem and fun game, hoping you 100% it! Also, funny how you make it look easy - not the hardest game on the planet, but you surely have an affinity for it (despite your own 'misplay callouts' lmao)
Bastion really lives up to the name
This game is amazing but a something problematic about it is how strong defense is. Bastion is a godlike spell and you can basically win any run just with bastion and a ham sandwich
You're a stronger man than I am. I love combo decks and rolling stupid numbers of die too much to ever take Inhibition.
I gladly will watch daily videos on this!
This run was a blast to watch, the start was really dicy and it took a lot of decisionmaking to stabilise the run. It looks like a couple of bad decisions could have ended this run really early
Glad to see that my previous comment of the game looking a bit too easy was very wrong
Best to enjoy Bastion before it gets nerfed to 1 charge, putting it in line with the Water attack spell
oh big time, no way it _doesn't_ get gutted
It'll turn either into a depleted:, or charge reduced to 1. Just lowering it to +2 block this combat is still way too good
I was so happy when the game was released ... Got hooked last time you made a series on this game and was so disappointed I couldn't play then, so super happy I can play now.
I now struggle with the max difficulty (as I should) so I can't wait to see you handle that.
More dice based gameplay please
Bastion got nerfed, as that was needed. I just got it in my game, upgraded it like Retro did, and was in for a bit of a shock =) I had to sac it to get the shard back. It seems like you want to play around Solidify instead, along with the combo where you deplete, get block, and get more steadfast - I'm forgetting the names of the spells at the moment. Bastion might also still be good if you go for the other upgrade. The one on the right is mostly unplayable, though, unless maybe you have it late with a specific build. (Its countdown on the right-side upgrade now increases every time you cast the spell, making it more and more expensive to cast.)
great vid, can't wait for more! Thx Reto
Love your content, keep up the great work dude ❤️
Bastion needs a hard nerf. Upgraded, it's the single best defense spell by a landslide. Nothing else even comes close to it.
Love these videos
Enjoying u playing this game
Hey I’m the comments section! Retromation said hello to me!
A shame you didn't find more sources of Blessing. Nuke Spear would've been a very funny build.
Hey reto, I had this thougth. If you have a growing die at six, and you let it in your die pool, will it start generating more growing die? Is a dice farm build possible?
nah, it caps at 6
@@Retromationyeah, I kept watching and was disappointed as well
When broken it says "cast to repair" so makes sense you can't repair when out of spell uses
Oh I understand why it is that way from a technical level, but I am saying why is it that way from a game-feel perspective. It _feels_ bad to end a turn with extra dice and a broken spell.
That doesn't actually make sense to me, since the effect of putting the die in is not that the spell gets cast. It just looks like a bug where you can't put the die in because you've reached the spell limit.
@@xn85d2 it's not a bug. Fixing a broken spell is a cast. It was designed that way on purpose.
@@applesaucemouse6987 Fixing a broken spell technically is a cast, but it shouldn't be. You can't normally cast a spell with a 12 countdown with a 1, but you can fix it with a 1. The fact that it is a cast and therefore interacts that way with cast-number restrictions seems unintended.
10/10 thanks this is what I was trying to say
How does one perform a one turn boss kill. I have yet to see any set of spells where it's possible. I only have the ridiculous ones left to unlock everything like 50 rolls in a turn. Any tips?
i know i'm late but at 1:04:30 why not pick up "temporal plate?" that would basically double bastion's efficiency
A) you get _1_ delayed block regardless of the amount of block you add.
B) defense is far from the thing we needed help with lol.
@@Retromation oh my mistake i thought it was 1 for 1, and had that be the case itd make you invincible in that case
Keep going!
like the series
