No matter what you do, Not everyone's going to be happy until they actually see the performance. I feel like filmmakers making comic book movies just have to accept that.
Damn, with this many hate, fake rumors, hate art, or preferring other fancastings is still something we're gonna get with social media now. ESPECIALLY with James Gunn's DCU. People's whining and complaining Kyle Chandler is too old as Hal Jordon, David Corenswet being too scrawny or fans wishing they kept Henry Cavill is not too dissimilar to fans hating Tobey Maguire for being "too whimpy" to be Spider-Man or wishing they kept Christian Bale. It's like what they always say: Those that forget the past are damned to repeat it...
Its crazy because there was a dude who created a petition to remove Ben affleck as batman, and they did the same ting the pattinson years later. It's like they had short term memory.
Recently, Michael Biehn revealed that he was being auditioned to play Batman and an executive told him that they had two picks. Keaton and Nicholson as Batman and Joker and the other was Biehn and Williams. So had Nicholson still said no and they had to keep Robin Williams, they would've automatically had to let go of Micheal Keaton as Batman. (Which I'm sure would've pleased the haters at the time if Kyle Reese was Batman instead of Mr. Mom. Lol.)
son of a bitch.. as much as I love Nicholson, Williams would've been amazing, I've always wanted to see him in a more villainous role (any suggestions for a villainous Robin Williams movie by the way?)
Same thing happening again with Barry Keoghan as Joker. Some fans already hate his portrayal despite barely seeing him for a few seconds in two scenes. They also hate his appearance because it's not "comic-accurate", when we didn't even get a clear look at him. And I'm telling you, Barry is gonna NAIL it in the sequels, perhaps even get an Oscar for it as well. He's one of the best young actors working today.
I loved Pattinson's version of a younger and angrier Batman, and I personally thought his physique was fine, his physique also resembles the Batman Year One look a lot, this universe is also supposed to be a lot more grounded and realistic, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to see a 6'4 230 pound jacked guy fighting super fast and being agile. My dad who trained MMA for over 10 years said that his physique was fine and his fighting style was realistic, which was mainly boxing and Muay Thai.

@@WarpingFist ComicbookCast2 years ago said something to the effect of: you all complain about recastings until you see a set photo of a 5'3 actor playing Wolverine in a comic-accurate costume.
Revisionist history is strong especially when it comes to modern day comic book fandom (well basically all of fandom in general). It is a cycle that will never end with fans and just shows that fans will complain about any comic book casting.
I want a funny/serious Batman movie with Jon Hamm as Bruce Wayne and Aaron Paul as Red Hood. It would be written by Matthew Weiner and Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Jon Hamm’s Bruce Wayne will be revealed as an imposter and we’ll find out that Will Arnett is the real Bruce Wayne.
Fan casts are always so shallow. Every single black person to exist gets fan casted as Miles Morales. And Willem Dafoe would make a great Joker because... he can laugh?

Even for the 60’s show the first choice for batman was an actor who had a much more muscular and taller physique but Adam West was just a better actor in the way he said his lines with emotions.
In fairness to the John Campea clip at the start, he was complaining about the infamous interview where Robert Pattinson claimed he's not working out for The Batman. And even then, he prefaced this is only in case he's being serious & not saying it in jest. Unless you just included because it fit the the theme, which then fair enough imo. I just thought I'd point it out just in case.
Yeah, the rant was form the GQ interview, where pattinson was clearly being very sarcastic the whole time so I was very disappointed when John reacted in that way. That rant didn't do anything but add to the negative views of Pattinson and his work ethic at the time. The rant' s only in here because it fits the theme yeah.
I’m sorry but if you ever actively lobbied for Scott ‘accident man’ Adkins to play the Dark Knight then you have no right to complain about casting decisions
@@Maxime_G I disagree. He was very poorly written in that movie. He came across as bratty and an idiot. Pattinson could have done the role well, but he was letdown by the writing team.

fans have to accept that and realize their patterns too
They did not have to roast Keaton like that😭

There’s stuff that shows his face, and ngl he looks like Temu Heath ledger
after that deleted scene his appearance is the most faithful and realistic that’s what I expect someone who fell into a vat of chemicals to look like
