The relationship between Riggs and Murtaugh just gets better and they're all good (there's actually 4 or 5). And thank you for putting up the mental health help line number. You're the first reactor I've seen that's done that with this movie.

Great reaction ... as usual. BTW, your laugh is very contagious. Also, there are 4 Lethal weapon movies in this franchise. (You don't have to wait until Christmas). IMO, they get better as they go. In Lethal Weapon 2, we add Joe Pesci along with the original cast.

I have been waiting so long for this movie! It's my favorite of all time despite it being over twice my age. The soundtrack, the way they speak on mental health in a realistic lighting. The comedy is tongue in cheek and the more you watch it, the more jokes you catch under their breath. It's a masterpiece to me.

Good story, great dialogue, and super chemistry between Danny Glover and Mel Gibson! You definitely need to watch the whole series.
My fav thing about this franchise (all 4) is they bring the actual actors aside from mel and Danny back, they continue the story line, it's just done so respectfully and thoughtfully as they continued.
The big difference between this and other action movies series like Die Hard or Rush Hour is the mature character development. They grow naturally from movie to movie and you really get to know them.
During the scene where Riggs and Murtaugh are questioning the father of the girl who jumped, the father is telling a story about a military unit called Air America.... Mel Gibson would go on to star in a movie about that story also called "Air America" (1990) that movie is also very very good with similar humor to this.
yup, KEEP GOING ON THIS SERIES! THEY"RE ALL PRETTY GOOD! There's 4 at least. Don't have to wait to watch. We add Joe Pesci, Renee Russo, Chris Rock, Jet Li.

if you like this one, you're gonna LOVE Leathal Weapon 2..And it's not a Xmas movie. Please don't wait a whole year.. This one just scratches the surface. The second is so good...
Mr. Joshua was played by Gary Busey who played Buddy Holly in the movie about him. He's also in the movie "Point Break" which also stars Keanu Reeves and it's a movie you would like also. He's been in quite a few things including "Predator 2". Mel Gibson has several really good movies also as an actor and as director.
Such an awesome buddy cop action comedy film!
Before Mel Gibson was cast as Martin Riggs, Patrick Swayze, William Hurt, Mickey Rourke, Christopher Lambert (Lamb bear,) Jeff Bridges, Richard Gere, Charlie Sheen Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise, and Christopher Reeve were considered.
Before Danny Glover was cast as Roger Murtaugh, Jack Nicholson, Clint Eastwood, Paul Newman, Brian Dennehy, Robert Duvall, and Al Pacino were considered.
There are 4 of these and this is the rare franchise that all of the sequels are as good as the original! You don't have to wait for Christmas at all, go ahead you won't regret it at all! Loved the react, this was a great choice...

There are actually 4 movies in this franchise with a 5th movie in the works. The other 3 movies are not Christmas movies but very very good. Highly recommended

Rorian Gracie, founder of the UFC was the fights technical advisor. Richard Donnar wanted a fighting style that hadn't been seen on film before. 6 years later was the 1st UFC debut.
I'm so glad you watched this movie! It's one of my favorite movie series. I think if Die Hard is considered a Christmas movie than this one should be too. :)
I think Red with Bruce Willis is also a Christmas movie, if these two are.
Shane Black (the jokey guy from Predator) wrote the script. He loves a Christmas movie! Other great Christmas selections from him are The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005).
I got to be an extra in a film with Danny Glover a few years ago, and I even got a picture with him!

Mel Gibson is a phenomenal actor. He could have you rolling with laughter in one scene and in the next he'd rip your heart out with sadness.
They are the best buddy cop team in movies IMO. All 4 are great and no the rest aren't Christmas movies.
I absolutely loved this reaction. This was one of my father’s favorite movies and we lost him 30 years ago when he was only 32, so I always associate him with Mel in this movie. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover have such great chemistry and are both so good at pulling you into the story.

James, where did you read that Joe Pesci was in this movie? He's in Parts 2, 3, and 4, but not in the original.
And Part 2 is not a Christmas movie. And I highly suggest that you watch all 4 Lethal Weapon movies. They're all excellent.

Anyone else notice … Mel Gibson says he has a special bullet for the occasion … a Hollow Point bullet … but the bullet he attempts to use (as well as give to Danny Glover at the end) is a Full Metal Jacket round … not a Hollow Point at all

My favorite action comedy series. I rewatch them every year. All four movies are good. Looking forward to the rest. You don't need to wait to watch them.
there are 4 lethal weapon movies and a short lived tv series. A fifth has been in the works for years but since Richard Donner (the director) passed away recently, the fifth and final movie is in doubt. Though rumor has it Me Gibson is in talks to direct it.
You mentioned Joe Pesci at the beginning, his character, Leo Getz, doesn't appear until the second movie.
There are four Lethal Weapon movies (Joe Pecia shows up in the 2nd one and is in 3 & 4 too). Each successive movie leans more and more into the comedy. Another essential Mel Gibson movie to watch is Braveheart (he both stars in and directed that movie).
Danny Glover, Mel Gibson, don't know 'em. (DIes inside on your behalf). Joe Pesci- "I know him from Home Alone!" (DIes some more) LOL Great reaction. Love your laugh. You must be so much fun to watch movies in person with!

The first one is the only Christmas movie.
Mel Gibson starred in Mad Max & Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, as well as directed and starred in Braveheart and directed The Passion of the Christ.
Danny Glover starred in Predator 2.

This movie would NEVER have been made today as it is right now. It would have been called pro-police and boycotted.
Fun Fact: Gary Busey says he was hired to play Joshua because they were looking for someone big and menacing enough to be a believable foe for Mel Gibson. Busey also credits the film for reviving his failing movie career.
Firearm Enthusiast Fact: The prop Beretta 92F Mel Gibson uses in this film is the same prop gun that would be used by Bruce Willis in Die Hard (1988). The gun has since been retired.
Done For Real Fact: Jackie Swanson performed the high fall on her own, trained by legendary stuntman Dar Robinson. Also, the stunt was done using an airbag covered with a life-size painting of the driveway and cars, which, like a foreground miniature, visually blends into the real scene. Thus, the editor is able to hold the shot until just as she makes contact with the airbag, for greater realism.
Lethal weapon franchise numbers 4. If I had to choose, part 2 would be my favorite one, but I love the entire series. Part 2 is not a Christmas movie, nor are the rest of them.

This is legit my favorite 80s-90s action series. I own them all and watch them yearly.
Even the worst film in this franchise is a good movie. That’s very rare to be so consistent. LW manages it. Watch all 4 films. Worth it.

Don't forget the parody movie, National lampoons-loaded weapon 1. You should watch it after lethal weapon 3, as it came out shortly after that one.
The scenes with the kids is my favorite. Kills me every time. "You're gonna bust Dixie!"

The building-jump scene reminded me of another fantastic 80s comedy which you should review if you haven't already. It's called "Crocodile Dundee", and without spoiling it, it's a comedy involving a hick Australian and a sophisticated New Yorker. Cultures clash. :)
Mel Gibson has been one of my favorites since I first saw him in the movie the road warrior. There are 4 to the series and they are actually making another one at this time. They're absolutely fabulous and they get better with each film. They're too many recommendations for Mel Gibson to list. But I highly recommend you watch the lethal weapon series.

Lethal weapon 2 is my favorite. I dont think its a Christmas movie. When ever I do get in trouble at work I say "diplomatic immunity" in a South African voice. You won't understand till after the movie

you have to finish this whole series of movies asap! its one of the few "series" of movies that never disappoints and arguably gets better as they go! i think there is 5 lethal weapon movies, loved the reaction to a CLASSIC!

The Lethal Weapon series is such a great series. As others have said, there are 4 movies in total. You will absolutely love the rest of them. Love watching your reactions. Glad I found your channel a few months and also glad I became a patreon member. If you like this kind of "cop buddy" comedy action, might I recommend Rush Hour (3 movies), Bad Boys(3 movies), and Men In Black (first 3 movies. The 4th doesnt have the 2 leads from the other movies) as a few other series to watch.

As a kid, my mom worked at a movie theatre for 3 years. One of the last two movies I watched there was Leathal Weapon 4. (I was 11) It was also the only time I ever snuck in to watch that I wasn't supposed to. (I watched other R rated movies there, but ones my mom saw first and made sure were okay.) I saw the others later, out of order, and while there were moments of them all that were good, to me the 4th one was just far and away the best. I feel like that's an unpopular opinion. But watching your reactions make me think maybe I should go back and give the first 3 another watch. I hope you keep going though and watch all 4!

The second movie is not a Christmas movie, none of the other films in this series are (there are 4...soon to be 5).
I like the second movie even better than the first, I think it's the best in the series.
This series is an accomplishment though because none of the movies are bad. 1 and 2 are excellent and 3 and 4 are a step down but still good.
Also, you are not finished with this series until you've also watched National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1! You can watch that movie at any time after you've seen the third film (If you also saw Basic Instinct and Wayne's World first it would help with a couple of scenes but you can get by without them).

In every sequel the Family expands in the films. Beginning with Joe Pesci in part 2.
There are currently 4 lethal weapon movies. A fifth one is coming out in 2023.
There is also a great spoof movie called national lampoon's Loaded Weapon. And a tv show with different actors than the movie that lastet 3 seasons. You can watch the movies any time You want. They don't have a connection with any holiday. Als you can continue with the Die Hard movies also no connection to holidays.

Now that you’ve seen Die Hard and Lethal Weapon, you have to put Tango & Cash in the rotation.
Another series you might get a kick out of that I highly recommend is the Riddick series. It's a really fun action, sci-fi series.

If You enjoyed the Movie , there's also the Series Lethal Weapon .
The first 2 Seasons were great but than they switched the main Actors and everything went down south .
I (really) recommend the first 2 Seasons . You might even want to start reactions to series

And I'm a bit disapointed that you don't know or remember Mel Gibson (Mad Max I - III or Braveheart f.E.) or Danny Glover (Predator II )
And of course you can watch the other Lethal Weapon Movies (there's 3 or 4 of 'em) because they are NOT Christmas Movies . the first one just happens to happen during Christmas .
But Christmas (as a Date/event) is not important for the Plot of the Movie...and the other Lethal Weapons are'nt even remotely connected to X-Mas

Yes these are great. Far superior to Die Hard. All of them are good. Such great chemistry between Riggs and Murtaugh and everybody else really. Super fun films.
There are 4 Lethal Weapon movies and they're all good. I'd say the 3rd one is probably the least liked one, but even it is very enjoyable. Joe Pesci is in the second, third and fourth one. I don't THINK the others take place during Christmas if I remember correctly, so watch them at your leisure, but DO watch them, they're great!
