I just use a spreadsheet on my laptop. It was a lot of work to put together, but I love how it turned out. And now it serves as a template sheet for any characters I create. The first tab has all the common character sheet details, with some equations to fill in everything I need. I enter in my level and stat scores and it calculates everything else. I also have it set to change modifiers/etc. when I place a (*) in the column next to a given skill to show proficiency. Same for AC when I (*) next to the armor I'm wearing. I even include no armor and both unarmored defense options too. The second tab is Combat, with a spot to check off spell slots, my modifiers/saves copied over for easy reference, and an HP table where I can just enter damage into a column of cells to have it subtract off of the total. Plus various other combat details as needed. The next tab is Inventory, where I have a pivot table to sort all my stuff. I categorize them by Self vs Bag, then further broken down into categories like Armor, Weapon, Utility, Misc. I also include a column for the quantity and weight. Then the pivot table totals the weight for my self and my bag (good if it's a bag of holding to not exceed 500 lbs). Another tab is World, which is just each new town/etc. with a list of NPCs in the next column and a description of them in the column after that. Another tab is Quest Log, where I do similar to the World tab. I list each quest with a description in the next column, and the progress in the next one. Another tab for Party, where I can take any notes on the other players to recall any backstory info/etc. And finally a Class tab where I list the full spells by level up table if I'm a caster, along with a list of the spells under each level column. Mostly just for reference and to copy over to the combat page as needed.
Emmet's character sheets have always been so helpful to my group! In the 2014 version, all of the class features were printed on the sheet, but I think it's a good exercise to write up class features yourself as you unlock them. It helps with remembering and understanding them, while high-level features don't take up space.
Thank you so much for your video! I appreciate your honest criticisms in your reviews. I obtained the character sheets from the hyperlink in the video description. 🙂
They're much better for multiclassing now, since all of your high level features don't take up space anymore. Just write your the features you get from the new class in the big *"Class Features"* field.
I had one for 4e that had customizable sections within the PDF. I don't know where it came from, but it was ideal for all the nuances involved in character sheets.
These look pretty good. I prefer the 2014 sheets or the 2024 ones. They have the spell sheet as a separate 3rd page that you can choose not to print if you're not playing a caster. Specialized sheets by class and subclass are great.
Since they are class specific sheets, I would have liked if they automatically added baseline class features (non-subclass) to the specific sheet already. As a newer player, it would be nice to already have that so I don't have to add it again myself already
I don't really think so, I mean you just put a dash in the class section and you're just adding more abilities like you would if you level up in your main class

I think the creator of these character sheets also made some for 2014 5e which included multi class character sheets. I assume there may also be some for these new 2024 ones.
I like the skills under the stats. Especially with new people but here is what I think of the current sheets. Changes to Character sheet. Both old and new character sheets are too busy. They are great for brand new people at cons. Some information is redundant. Other information can be moved elsewhere and does not need the space. But focusing on the new sheet here my changes. Hit point box needs only the current and max lines. Cut everything else. Max dice can be a note in the class line. Temporary hit points change some much that is a whiteboard or scratch paper note. Death Saves are rare and temporary and go away quickly. So cut that box too. Proficiency Bonus box goes away. This is a number you need rarely once you have fill out the skills you are proficient in. Keep the stat boxes. It is much easier for new people to see what skills go to what stats. This my experience dealing with many different type of character sheets. Heroic Inspiration goes away. You either have it or not. And it goes away at the end of the session. Equipment Training and Proficiencies can be changed to” Other “or “Tool” Proficiencies. You don’t need the armor training line as you not going to use this information much. Only when you buy your amour and shield, you only going to change it if you buy more or find some. Weapons line again needs to go away as the weapons you are carrying and using are on another line. The Initiative box needs to be moved to where the Death Save box currently is. Size is ONE letter so can be put on the Species Line. Speed is almost always the same and can also be put on the Species line. Passive Perception can be move to the Inspiration location. Weapons & Damage cantrips box. Keep. Move up or expand size. Class Features Box. Keep. Move up or expand size. Species Traits Box. Keep. Move up or expand size. Feats Box. Keep. Move up or expand size. Add to bottom the line. “Standard Array 15,14,13,12, 10 or Pt Buy 27 PHB 38” Back sheet. Redesign the Spell Casting Ability and other supporting information column. Spell Slot box. Keep Total column. Drop Expended column. As expended spells change so much you will erase through the paper during one session. Appearance box keep. Cantrip & Prepared Spells Box keep. But will need a sheet of note book page if you have a lot of spells. Backstory and Personality. But drop Alignment is not needed and is only two letters. But I think this could be drop or combined with Equipment box. Languages Box. Move to bottom. Equipment Box keep. Coins Box. Drop. This is freaking note.

That’s awesome! I just do it all manually in the notes app on my phone lol but that spreadsheet would be way easier
I did the same for other ttrpgs I also play, since they don't have easy to use character builders like dndbeyond.
Would kill for a google drive link to a template of this!
These are fantastic. Been using them close to since when they came out. They are wonderfully set up and composed. Worth a donation

He has to wait for the 5.5 srd to be released in 2024 to add those to the sheet.
I had the 2014 class specific character sheets and was waiting for the 2024 versions. This is good news for my upcoming one-shot :)

I love class specific sheets until I multi class...
Either way, definitely gonna snag these while I can, these are great!

It's all great until someone multiclasses.
There should be class specific individual sheets, so you just use extra pages when you multiclass.
@@jocelyngray6306 3.5 did this.

I'm always surprised how any caster could acutally use the spell sheet. I and every player has always used a spell app it just seems so much better.
I use both. The *spell sheet* for an overview _(i usually note the range here),_ and the *app* to look up specifics if we can't remember it.
New sheet is actually better. It takes some time to get used to, but it worth it imo
Great Find... Thanks
sold!
Way better than the official sheets, but I think it could still be improved upon..
Emmet is improving them continuosly. Just _log in_ and download the latest version when you need the sheet.

I feel like they should already have the features written in and a checkbox to determine whether you have them unlocked or not.
But what if you multiclass?? Does that mean we would need multiple character sheets for our singular character?
Check it out but i have no problem with generic sheets, i customized them
Off topic. You have hair!!!
lol. Nah. 5/6 sheets !!! That’s silly.
2014 is better and i got tons
