I am glad that the 5.5 character sheet is an improvement over the 5.0 version. For any class two pages should be more than enough. The only exception would be spells which I like having their own page with check boxes for the prepared spells for the day. Spells having a database is a much better way of accessing them than writing every single one down or flipping through the books.
It has some of the stuff I added. Still no spot for conditions, or current max hp. Spells need all their components listed, including verbal and somatic. I added to my sheet actions types (standard, bonus and reactions). I also added a section for abilities by rest so I have a checklist of what to refresh on a rest. And of course a gear page where you can track what's in your packs and pouches. Not near enough room for gear on these sheets. You forgot your damage type!
I've always printed my own custom character sheets. There's too much space waste on the 2014 one, like the motives / flaws. I love to have all the mechanics on the same page. The problem is there's so many options in 5e, they can't make one sheet to fit every build. Things like check boxes for sorcery points, spell slots, 1/rest abilities...
I quite like it and it's cool to be able to have only 1 page front and rear, even if you may want to keep them separate since the second page may need a change more often since it has spells and loot. I Still think they could provide a more flexyble layout for different classes like spellcasters vs martials, and that the loot/pouch/deposit section probably needs a page for itself.
Nice review of the sheet. People will probably still feel that it should have this, or not have that. With all the options, there will always be debate! 🤔🤔🤔🤔👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
0:25 you mean D&D 5.24e or just 5.24... 3:00 I like the long list, but lets group them by ability scores... 3:40 Couldn't we do for martial and simple weapons what we did for light, medium, and heavy armor and shields in the box above?? 4:40 Have we ever thought about just putting spells and all their info on 8x5 notecards???
I like how they list the skills connected to the ability. I've done that since 2015.
"They stole muy idear!"
