Would you be interested in learning how to create advanced PDF forms like this? Should I make a "Part 2" video that's more like a tutorial for creating advanced PDF forms or would you rather attend a live webinar or training session?
It's hard to all get together these days! I miss it a lot though. I get to play an online campaign with my friends about once a month (because we all live so far away from each other now), but we used to get together every weekend. I miss those days.
Thats awesome. Dnd gives the same teambuilding skills as my 400 level college finance courses, and then working in fortune500. Playing dnd seems like easiest secret way to become amazing in teams
Is that the MPMB sheet? It looks like it; I love it, and have been using it for ages. If you want to see what else it can do, click the "Show Extra Features" button in the top-right; it allows you access to things like spell sheets and such. Note that that sheet was designed with a competitor's reader in mind (A DC Reader), and not all of the features are guaranteed to work properly in others. :)
@@foxitedu Sadly, I only know how to add the JavaScript to the MPMB's character sheet, as they have an importer built into the PDF. P.S: Just realised this is the channel for Foxit PDF, love that software. Keep up the good work!
I used to use spreadsheets in the 80's (on a Kaypro II) to do basic computation, no built-in tables. I am curious how you create PDFs that access all the information "needed" to build characters. Are you able to build multi-class characters and access appropriate skill sets/spells? How do you handle "home rules"? Just curious about all the "stuff" under the hood. Sorry to say I haven't heard of Foxit until this video. I am still playing DnD which is what caused the TH-cam algorithm to recommend this video to me. Interesting.
Looks like More Purple More Better has their own website now, so that's probably why it's not on the Compendium anymore. I found it here: www.flapkan.com/
Why did you talk like you hadn’t seen this form since the 90s if you currently play and DM and use PDF character sheets? It’s 2023; the nerds have won and no one’s going to beat you up for liking D&D. In fact, lots of adults who spend money on their hobbies or who work in the TT gaming space might be interested in your software for creating similar things for other games. I got this in my algorithm because I watch a lot of D&D content, not because I watch a lot of editable PDF content. Just something to consider.
That's true - the years I spent playing D&D in my youth with my group of friends really helped me come out of my shell, taught me to work together as a team, and gave me so many of my best childhood memories. These days it's much more challenging to get together. Everyone lives farther away, everyone has families and careers - so now we get together and game maybe once a month or every other month for a few hours online. It's not quite the same, but at least we're still gaming. VERY cool insight about the TT gaming space, thank you for that. And thanks for stopping by and watching my video.
Okay, that wasn't actually one of my characters, I was just showing off the PDF... LOL - although now I feel like I gotta post a link to my D&D Beyond campaign just so I can say, "Look! I really do have characters!"
@@Steven.T.Y. I always went towards the high dex characters. Just something about getting to be nimble and stealthy while still being able to fight was just so cool to me. Probably influenced by the Drizzt novels.

Yes! That would be appreciated
Lots of past-tense talking about how you used to play D&D and love it, think maybe you should start playing again!

This has the same energy as "Archive of our own, a fanfiction website, has arguably the best archiving system in the entire world".
Of course! I drive my daughter to DnD three times a week. School, a library, and the middle school group. She's a dedicated player.

Yes it is, and the Show Extra Features button (that I totally somehow missed) is very awesome. Thanks!
@@foxitedu No prob ^_^
Also, bonus, its surprisingly easy to add to it using JavaScript
@@NecronLordArhiman You know how to write Javascript / add Javascript to a PDF? Been looking for someone to help me out with a little project.

Was that the More Purple More Better sheet?
yes

The link to the sheet says it's not available anymore. Anyone knows were I could get this sheet?
I get sheets from the D&D Compendium.

There is a fillable pdf for Palladiums Rifts ttrpg that dwarfs the DnD one shown here
I would love to see that! I used to play RIFTS a lot. And Robotech and TMNT back when they had the rights to them. You got a link to that RIFTS sheet?
@@foxitedu I'll have to look later today when I have time
from the... 90's..? that's 5th edition.
Um ackshually, that's AD&D 2nd edition... Lol. Yay! Came for the DND, stayed for the pdf editing...
I knew I should have dug around to find an old 2nd edition sheet...
I just tried the one you shared and sadly it was taken down.
OH! You're right. Looks like More Purple More Better has their own website now. I found it here. www.flapkan.com/
Lol I found this video looking for tip for a d and d pdf

Ranger's can't cast fireball, and certainly not at 3rd level.😜
Yeah, the ability scores were kinda random too. Dex fighter is Good, ngl, though...
