    I hope you realize how much your FZ videos are appreciated, you have a video on every single adjustment, replacement, or modification I’ve wanted to do on my FZ-09. Quality stuff, honestly

    Just a note that anytime you adjust break lever you need to check also the brake light sensor if it's not affected badly by your changes.

    That’s a good tip. Didn’t know about this. Just got my mt-09 and found it difficult to lift the foot to brake.

    Good brake adjustment video, going to do mine right now! I did however notice the little time jump between here's how it goes to look it's done. I fully expect to need a third hand and more time! LOL

    It's slightly more complicated than you show on the brake side. The spring moving behind the rubber boot controls the brake light activation. Moving the leaver down can result in the brake light staying on. You should have showed adjusting the brake light activation!

      The stock actuation point of the light is roughly 4x what I showed, right to the limit of the threads. But I can certainly show turning the sensor nut to adjust it as well, thanks for the tip, that'll go up tomorrow :)

    Just installed the quickshifter, the instructions says it has to be 257-258mm in length, if I adjust it would this cause any issues? I would like to drop the shifter some

    I loosened both nuts off for the shift lever but when trying to turn the rod it does not go clockwise or counterclockwise ..
    Edit:
    Has Puig rubber footpegs installed by previous owner, not sure if that affects anything. Thinking it would not?
    Edit #2: My dad suggested a small spray of wd-40 on both ends where the lock nuts threads are. And after 15 minutes I tried again and voila, the rod rotated nicely. Thank you!

    What about for the quick shifter? I’ve been told not to touch the bar, however just using the top nut to take the linkage out and alter by a tooth gives me TOO much adjustment

    when I try adjusting the rod (on 2 different bikes), I find the shifts become worse - sometimes it won't even click. So I have defaulted to adjusting at the spline instead - it's more of a macro adjustment, which stinks, but it doesn't adversely affect the shifting quality. Any reason why I'm having these issues?

    have you lowered the foot pegs on your FJR or installed highway pegs on them ?

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's not a cruiser LOL Seriously though lowering them is not advisable at all, it immediately eats clearance. I hate highway pegs especially on a GenIII FJR, the fairing digs in to your leg if you try and put them forward. Wrong bike for that IMO.

    How often do you lubricate the for control pivots?

    • @TwoWheelObsession

      Usually at an oil change I'll at least inspect. It completely depends on your environment how often you need to do it.

    awesome vid. Having size 13 motorcycle boots I was messing up my upshifts constantly as I could barely get my boot in there without going straight pointing down and when I left it in there my boot didn't let it drop low enough to allow me to upshift again.

  • @soll87

    Very nice. I had problem to shift and brake. After i feel awesome. BUT when u do adjust the brake u cant do it to mutch, i adjusted it to motch ant the brake light got stuck. So after u do that. Make a hard brake test on the rear brake before u go out in traffic .

    Hey Bryan, I'm all leg here so when I sit on the bike my shins are almost parallel with the road and toes pointing down, I've ran out of adjustment on the fine and course adjustment for the shifter, I think I need to order a longer shifter linkage rod? have you heard of such a thing
    hope that makes sense

    I need to lower the shift lever on my MT-09 '17. How do I do this exactly with the QS already installed? Where do I have to pay attention?

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t have much play with the quickshifter it is what it is.

    • @MegaDraag
      @MegaDraag 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for the quick reply. Alternatively, can I just move the shift shaft linkage resp. shifter arm down a notch and lower the whole thing? What about the pedal itself? Can I lower it too?

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as the shaft length is in spec you can jump a tooth. You'll probably find it too large a move though.

    I adjusted both my brack and shift lever But when I did Check Engine light came on has that happened to you and what should I do? FYI I have a 16 FJR1300A

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the first I have ever heard of such a thing, I'm not even convinced it's related. There was a big issue with your sidestand switch, that would throw a code. That's about it.

    • @SlickRick50979
      @SlickRick50979 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TwoWheelObsession is there a way to clear the check engine light with out going to the Dealership? FYI thanks for reply

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not without the appropriate OBDII reader. If that's the issue you still need the updated part anyway.
