Interesting stuff! I've always found Colossus incredibly rough despite its fantastic layout. Nemesis inferno seemed to get more and more intense with age and I can never get enough of it.
The Swarm is beautifully smooth and the G-forces are lovely.

I’ve always thought Saw needs a drop element like thirteen & then finishing going backwards in the dark! It always feels like it just ends & you’re waiting for more

The one thing I’ll always love about Saw The Ride is the incredible airtime him before the trim break. Still think Inferno is fiercely underrated. Was running incredible towards the end of last season.

Saw was my first big rollercoaster and I always enjoy getting back on it!

Swarm is still one of the smoothest coasters in the UK, so much so that I find it the best ride to chill out on, last time I was there I rode it 10 times, mostly consecutively without getting off. That was a perfect day. Saw is quite rough now, took a bit of the enjoyment out. I also found that Nemesis Inferno was riding a lot better and felt quicker but not shorter, not sure how they've achieved that... 😂
Swarm is my all time favourite, im too scared to go on stealth ahaha ut i feel swarm has some great elements and the scenery is so amazing, they did so much to make swarm and the effort really payed off 😁

Stealth is so good, I was terrified to go on it but now it’s one of my favs!
Why is this literally my list
Just visited today and my top 7:
1. Saw - absolutely love the pre-lift hill section. Agree though it is too rough in some later sections, but still loved it.
2. Stealth - the acceleration is just fantastic.
3. Nemesis Inferno - great all round coaster
4. Swarm - really good and really good theming, but felt the ride was just too short.
5. Colossus - love the first half of it, it’s brilliant, but hate the quad corkscrews near the end! Find them unpleasant.
6. Walking Dead - it’s ok. Nothing much to report on it. Would have liked to have had some jump scares in the queue but didn’t.
7. Flying Fish - I remember this being much better as a kid! 😂
I enjoy the general ride of collosus but during the inversions my head bangs everywhere

1: The Swarm. The back outer right seat is my favourite ride in the park. The only other Wing Coaster I've ridden is Gatekeeper and that's equally good on both sides, but he different sides on The Swarm are like the difference between night and day.

11:15 the lack of legroom in Colossus is crazy, clearly its an old ride and those cars should have been updated over the years, I'm six foot and was sat with my knees squashed up

i was queuing up for stealth and the operators said there will be some downtime for about 30 minutes we were at the front of the line so we waited. they then said that the ride will be closed for the rest of the day. i got on a few weeks later and i loved it. Great video Shawn!

Thank you, yes! You gave Colossus the love I think it deserves! It’s my favourite ride at the park because it’s the only one you get off and say “Wow that was fun but I think that was enough.” Mind you I did manage to ride it 3 times back to back without even having to leave my seat a few years ago when I ended up on the last rides of the day with no queue! Impossible not to love the quad heartline roll

Took my son again last week, we just ended up going round the swarm 16 times in a row at the end of the day. Our favourite! Although the back row on the left had me nearly blacking out going round the helicopter... front right for the win.
Wow didn’t expect colossus up there. I find it really rough but that’s just me.

3. Nemesis inferno (prefer Nemesis, but I have a soft spot for this one as it was the first thrill coaster I rode)

1. Swarm - this one has great theming, a bit short, but has more of an experience than stealth)
Agree with the listing apart from my 3 and 4 are the opposite way round! I absolutely love the swarm especially night rides!
Saw - The Ride would be my favourite. It was the first coaster that I took an interest in being built and sparked my coaster enthusiasm! So more sentimental than a great ride haha!
So I am in the exact same boat as you apart from nemesis inferno and Colossus, it’s the train and restraints that make me swap them around, being 5 foot 10 when I’m in the back of a car on colossus my legs are squished against the seat in front and it’s uncomfortable. The swarm is amazing, back left has to be my favourites seat, I love watching everything turn at the top of the lift Hill infront on my eyes before I turn myself
Have to agree with colossus. I think it gets a lot of undeserved hate! The airtime/headchopper after the vertical loop is always a nice little moment on there as well

I had my 1st visit to Thorpe park today. With my fastracks, I went on SAW the ride 3 times sat in the same seat twice on the second carriage. The first ride was exceptionally smooth. Really surprising. The second was very rough and didn't enjoy. This is why I went on one last time. That time was smooth again. Must be to do with carriage I was in. All I can put it down to.🤷♂️
The reason the waterfall doesn’t come back at Colossus , is because the floor has subsided , so the water can no longer drain back to the Pumps to cycle the water. It would need a LOT of work to fix.

Saw for me is my no1 because the theming and indoor section takes it away and you can re-ride it multiple times and have no clue where that first drop is

First visit to Thorpe Park today. Used several of your videos for research so thanks so much for the help and advice. I struggle to split Stealth and The Swarm as favourites. So different, but both so incredible. Gun to my head, I’d probably pick Stealth. But then I’ve never been on rollercoasters outside the UK…

thorpe need to change restraints on colossus and saw, it doesn’t cost much but it will make the rides much better
Right this will definately be an unpopular opinion but it’s TRUE.
1. Saw
- personally what I look for on a rollercoaster is an enjoyable ride that I can actually enjoy but also a ride that really scares me because I love the excitement and fear. The indoor section of saw is amazing I love the whole theme and the first drop and barrel roll inside is amazing I get a proper adrenaline rush and the outside section is just a scary. My favourite ride EVER.
2. Joint Place stealth and swarm
-stealth in my opinion gives me such an adrenaline rush and I love that it really pulls me back in my seat and I absolutely love the thrill I get from the speed of this ride.
Swarm- swarm holds the whole package for me apart from the fear factor. The big loops make it run so smooth Ely and make it really feel like you’re flying and the twist and drop at the beginning really pulls me into my seat I LOVE it. Overall the setting of the ride and the carts(how theyre winged) it’s a winged coaster. I also love the straight barrel roll over the church but one thing I would want is the fear factor it is very low it didn’t really get me scared and excited and I love getting butterflies on a ride. Saw beats it.
3- The walking dead ride
I know it’s very unpopular but I love it so much I just think t he whole briefing at the beginning and running through the tunnels and having live zombie actors and all the jump scares I love. It’s an interactive ride where the live actors grab at you and chase you(they won’t touch you) and it brings the fear. The special effects eg smoke is amazing and although the coaster has no inversions it’s so fast and very very dark I just love it.
4- nemesis inferno
I don’t know why but I really don’t like inferno if bored me and I didn’t get much thrill. Not going to downplay it though so it’s like an upgraded version of the vampire at chess ington world of adventures but the right loops makes it fun.
5- flying fish
Surprisingly it’s fast so I’ll give it that but a very boring coaster for very young kids I’d say but it’s a fun ride for the little ones.
FYI I’ve never been on colossus so I can’t really rate it because it was closed the times I went but when I go on it I will update it and I’m pretty sure it will be at the top! ⭐️⭐️
Agreed, tho this list won't change as the 7 coasters at Thorpe, it wont become 8 for another 10 years tbh
still not been to thorpe park but i can not wait to go and swarm is actually the one I am most excited for!!! genuinely can not wait!!

Moastly agree with your list - No Way Out was a great coaster back in the day. Would trick the family into riding it with me without mentioning it's backwards. Relatively soft coaster except for that so they usually came out with an enjoyable experience :)
I love Nemesis Inferno, would put it above certainly Stealth (just too short, enjoyed hype but the experience is too short to rate that high for me). Would possibly put it above Colossus too.

Didn’t go on colossus at all in the 2020 season as I find it unbearably rough and it gives me such a headache! However, my favourite is saw as I love the theming and indoor section! I think the fact that I only ride saw once per visit, due to the queues it gets and the roughness, makes it feel more special! A night ride on it at fright nights was 😍😍😍

Hello Shawn, a great countdown video, I agree that "The Swarm" is the best Rollercoaster as it does have that overall package, with regards to the theming, layout and design of both The Rollercoaster and the area in geeneral, it also has some great off-ride views. Cheers Peter :)
Stealth and swarm for us! We love saw but it’s so uncomfortable! We can’t wait to get back to the parks to film a video! We’ve managed to say hi to you a couple times - last time was in volcano bay on the bus with Charlotte in 2019! Hope to see you in the parks again soon!

Agree with that list the only thing I might change is putting colossus above stealth but it's a very close one !
One of my dreams! Someday I'll be there in Thorpe Park.

7- Flying fish: it is what it is
6- Walking dead: haven’t done it since X but it looks pretty good
5- Colosuss: It has some fun elements but I can’t stand the train design
4- Saw the ride: Bit rough but there’s an exciting element after every turn
3- Nemesis inferno: smooth, comfortable and forceful
2-The swarm: the theming is awesome and the ride itself is incredibly forceful with a near greyout moment over the lake but getting stuck on the brake run in a vest restraint isn’t fun.
1- Stealth: Extremely snappy launch, breathtaking views and some great airtime topped off with an awesome theme
completely agree with this list. the swarm is indeed the whole package. I would change inferno with colossus though maybe because I haven't gone to alton towers yet and can't compare it to nemesis. Still, hard to pick one over the other they are both great in their own way but I do get dizzy after riding colossus. Saw the ride really is uncomfortable I rode it last year and it wasn't as bad as this year. the restraints actually hurt me on my shoulders and they were unbearable in my groin. the ride could be ranked higher if they fixed the restrain problems
Off to Thorpe Park on the 30th June and I'm really looking forward to it. My favourite coaster there is also The Swarm, however I may change my mind when I go on Saw as they didn't let people on the ride when we went last year. First ride I'm going on as soon as I arrive. You going that day Shawn?

Personally I absolutely love Saw and it's my favourite rollercoaster. It was never rough for me personally, I'm a huge fan of the indoor section, it really makes the ride stand out. That drop is also fantastic. On the contrary, Collosus absolutely killed my neck, especially on that last inversion. It has a great soundtrack though.

I agree, I have always enjoyed Saw - it's my second favourite coaster in the park after The Swarm. Never found it too rough and the theming is right up my street. Collosus on the other hand hurt my neck and head.

I rember going to Thorpe Park on a school trip in the late 80's and back then theThe Flying Fish was actually an indoor dark roller coaster called Space Station Zero, it was a little similar to The Black Hole at Alton Towers. It was pretty mindblowing stuff, rushing along in the dark with flashing lights! I wish there were still indoor dark rollercoasters around, it's a pity that they removed Raptor Attack (aka The Rat) from Lightwater Valley.
I love Raptor attack! It was such a fun little coaster. I have a lovely on-ride photo of my sister and me on thatbrid3 from from few years ago, the photo makes it look so janky but the ride experience was great fun.

all the rides at thorpe are butter smooth when i visited a few weeks ago even colossus it was really enjoyable!
Never been to Thorpe Park but I've always wanted to ride on stealth, the swarm, nemesis inferno and saw
Rode the swarm for the first time yesterday, amazing. Colossus super rough , bashing my ears . It’s put me off riding it again.
When I went(2023) saw the ride was brilliant, it was smooth as hell for me almost like butter, not as smooth as the swarm but I absolutely loved it, same with colossus for me it wasn't rough, a bit head banging through the corkscrews, my personal list is colossus, inferno, saw the ride very close together, then stealth and the swarm, I loved the swarm so much

I cant wait to get back to Thorpe Park. I only went on Nemesis Inferno because I had never been on a big roller coaster before and by the time I had ridden it, it was time to leave.

Shocked about your Saw ranking. An amazing coaster when I was there last in 2016. It must have aged really badly.

Absolutely agree with colossus Front row is amazing, saw could be amazing again with a little tlc and adding some outdoor themed bits.
It’s such a great ride, it just need some TLC!
I only went on 4
4th - Collossus: Kinda hurt my head the end with all those upside down bits
3rd - Nemesis Inferno: Good but needs more exiciting things
2nd - Saw: I like the vertical lift and drop and the drop inside the dark area but i barely felt the loop but had to wait 2 hours in the queue because of a “security issue”
1st - Swarm: Very comfy seats and i love the drop at the start and my fav ride in the entire park
The first time I went the first ride I went on was stealth and wow was it an experience and because of that stealth will always be my favourite then it'd be swarm then nemesis inferno then colossus and finnaly saw even though saw is at the bottom I still love it.
See I haven’t been on colossus in a few years. Back then I’d probably swap it’s place in your ranking with saw. It has a lot of potential but the trains are just so uncomfortable I can’t ride it more than once in a day!

Totally agree with what you said about both the Walking Dead and Saw.
Then walking dead was much better when it was an indoor rave,and as much as I enjoy the walking dead series,the ride does nothing for me,it feel like a naff ghost train.
Saw the ride,as you said very enjoyable all the way to and including the big drop,but after that it is just migraine inducing.That ride has latterly ruined a day out for me due to it causing a massive headache.Such a shame as it wouldn’t be half bad if it were just smoother.
Anyway keep up the good work,always nice to hear how other people’s opinions of a ride compare with my own.

In October 2018 my daughter and I travelled down from Scotland to London for a family event and decided to stay an extra day so we could visit Thorpe Park. It's got a good fun selection of coasters. Unfortunately on that day The Swarm was down but enjoyed the rest of the coasters. I really quite liked Saw with the first drop inside in the dark really catches you unexpectedly and the launch on Stealth is really forceful. As it was midweek the park was quite quiet with only a 5 minute wait on each of the rides so plenty of re-rides. I did, however get a bit of a headache on Colossus.

I think colossus would be above inferno for me if it had lap bars but until then it’s at number 4.
When I was about 8 or 9 me and my older sister used to go on x about 5 times every visit we loved the music so much !
