rita is way to high on this list. it has no inversions whatsoever and doesnt even last 30 seconds. the only good thing is the launch which is still slower then stealths. and the queue time is unbelievable for such a short ride
I love Smiler and Nemesis 😊 those two are definitely my favourite rides in the UK. I personally think Icon is overrated, but that’s just my opinion and I’ve never had the privilege of riding Wicker Man yet so I can’t comment on that one lol. I still think I’d prefer Smiler though! 😅 Edit: and what I remember from Swarm I really enjoyed that as well. 😊

The smiler for me is the theme. It's theme especially for the UK is amazing IMO. I love how the story around it works so well, I feel like this is a ride I'd want to go on at night because of the lighting and visual effects.. BUT I could never ride this, I get motion sickness so most rides are off limit for me unfortunately. Here’s my top 10: 10) Oblivion: every time I ride this my opinion changes. But for its historical importance, unique concept for the time, amazing theming and being the definition of a Alton ride it has to be in the top 10 9) Ultimate: you said everything perfectly! Can’t really add anything other than it’s a essential ride 8) 13: Controversial take but it’s a great little ride. Often overlooked by the Alton big dogs but the theme and general surprise of the drop never got old to me 7) Velocity. I bet you weren’t expecting flamingo land but honestly it’s a feisty little ride. It just hits you with it’s launch and whist it’s not unique it is quite Intense. Plus the Motorbike cars are bearable compared to others.I Can totally get why people wouldn’t like it though. 6) stealth: just what you said again. It’s a great ride with a stunning top hat curve. My main issue is the back row is quite rough compared to the relative smoothness of the front 5) Big one: it’s a standard coaster that delivers beautifully. The Jewel of Blackpool and deserves to be top 5 4) Swarm: Wing coasters are surprisingly graceful and the the theme really elevates this. But it’s just too short. 3) icon: It’s iconic (pun intended). Just a thrill to ride. Great launches and a creative layout! The second half punches you! 2) Smiler: Theming, innovation, inversions. It’s great. When it’s running smoothly it’s just fun from start to finish. 1) Nemesis: It’s just godlike. A masterclass in coaster design and although it’s getting rough it’s still A classic ride Honourable mention to Megafobia. Everything you said applies, it’s just a fun ride.
I still have to go for nemesis, it's one of the first coasters I went on when I went for a year 10 trip at school. Thirteen is great, but I do have a soft spot for nemesis though. Busch Gardens florida still hold the best coasters for me, you can't go wrong with montu and I was on one of the first rides of gwazi when it was originally built. Excellent rides.
While I love Odyssey's layout, views and the insane forces it pulls, I had some really bad jackhammering (to the point where my head felt like a sandbag being pummelled by a skilled boxer) when I rode it today; especially next to the much smoother Millennium. It's still a great ride don't get me wrong, but definitely one of those kinds that would _really_ benefit from being updated with the new SLC vest restraints. That way, you could enjoy all it has to offer more without having to fight against it as much.

Nemesis will always win it for me. There are faster rides, there are more inversions on other rides, but if you were there in the first season in 1994 you'll understand where I'm coming from. They hyped it up so much with the TV adverts, the takeover of the drinks machines UK-wide, and the attention to detail in the new Forbidden Valley, that when you got there you never realised or cared you'd queued for 3.5 hours - you just wanted to have done it. The queue line itself was a lesson in how to do it properly, up the entrance path, snaking up and down to the top of the lift hill, never too far from the ride, and an extension to the top of the loop opposite the station - the fence posts are still there, though the queue extension probably doesn't go that far these days. All the while, you'd have the OG theme music (far more sinister than the modern equivalent) playing through strategically placed speakers, interrupted by the occasional screams of the earliest riders zooming over your head by just a few feet. Finally, you queued over the narrow, rusty, bridge to the stairs that leads to the Beast - or so you thought! In the old days you had to go straight ahead up another hill, to where the lift hill for G***ctica is now (you can still see the start and end of the extension path, very overgrown) the EQT from the top of the stairs was 30 minutes IIRC at the busiest times. Then you got in. And it was so so much better than anything that was around in the UK before, which was probably the Corkscrew, and the old Python ride in DMTP (Vampire was crap in 94 and NO IT WAS NOT AN INVERTED COASTER IT WAS A SUSPENDED TRAIN). I've ridden every coaster in Alton Towers since 1988. None of them have ever had the cultural impact that Nemesis had. It was a generational thing to us, but it's amazing to see the recognition "the wife", as my would-be daughter-in-law calls it, still gets today. We love her, and we'll miss her grieviously when she eventually goes, so make the most of her!
Could not agree more about icon. It is so smooth and the queue line is really quick because sometimes it can have three trains on at once. But I would put the big one at number three and nemesis at two
I've only been on Stealth once and jt was front row and I was so nervous, if I go on a coaster for the first time I prefer to be in the middle but I'm so glad I got the front row in the end it was 100% worth the mild anxiety I was feeling 😅😅😅 Personally my favourite coaster is The Smiler
Honestly quite surprised to see Stealth on the list! It's definitely grown on me over the years (maybe my third favourite ride at Thorpe Park now) but I still wouldn't queue very long for it because it's such a short experience.
I was pretty accurate with my guesses. I had the top 3 matched exactly. Icon is definitely deserving of first place; it’s so smooth. I was surprised to learn The Big One is taller than Stealth; it’s so imposing!
I would have agreed with your top 3! Until 6 months ago! I’ve ridden nemesis multiple times over 5 different days, first time back in 94 (I was 13) and last time was just after the first lockdown in 2020 (now 38). When I first rode it there was nothing else like it outside of the states, and even then I believe there was only 1! All I remember is being terrified! Riding Nemmy last year showed me what a animal it really is! Only coaster in the U.K. to make me grey out a little on that last banked turn! So I would still have it as the greatest coaster in the U.K. with icon a close second
My favourite UK coasters: Nemesis,Stealth,Icon,Wicker Man, The Smiler and The Swarm. I love it that you mention now also EU mesurements, that's nice 👍🏻🤟🏻.
Icon is deffo my fave ride in the UK although I do have a soft spot for Nemesis but she was rough when we rode in September!!thanks so much for sharing - we enjoyed watching x
My top 10 (of my 20 credits): 1: Nemesis 2: Icon 3: The Smiler 4: Galactica 5: Rita 6: Grand National 7: Thirteen 8: The Big One 9: Nickelodeon Streak 10: Avalanche
I went to thorpe Park on fright night and went on stealth when it was dark and slightly rainy I was on the front and the dark and the rain makes the whole thing so much better
My list 10. Mumbo jumbo (flamingo land) I love the steep drop 112 degree nice restraints and not too rough 9. Shockwave. (Drayton manor) only stand up coaster gave me courage to not be afraid it is bit uncomfortable but love it 8. Velocity (Flamingo land) Honesty better than Rita obviously it is Not to rough but yes it is has few parts that jolts Fun fact: Gave me the courage to do Stealth! 7. Oblivion (Alton towers) The B&M dive coaster is Insane Wish it was actually a 90 degree drop. 6. Big one (Blackpool Pleasure Beach) that drop it feels like my stomach is gonna come out my mouth but fun. 5. The Swarm (Thorpe park) the theming is Mind-blowing it is short but love the bank turn along the river 4. Icon (Blackpool Pleasure Beach) the launch coaster that is incredible the inversions make it better Love it. 3.The Smiler (Alton towers) the 14 inversions are fun secret Heartline roll is fun It is intense but very fun. The Ties Wicker man (Alton towers) Saw The Ride(Thorpe park) Wicker man: The Woody you know Big Bob makes it 2/1 Saw the ride: Theming insane the insane 100 degree drop but sadly, is has the jolts. 2. Nemesis (Alton towers) 1994 legend The intense inversions Vertical loops are insane Definitely Remember Sit back it’s Fright time! 1. Stealth (Thorpe park) the launch fast (Obviously) the closest I will get to riding King da Ka 2 Coasters That can be on the list Kumali (Flamingo Land) Rage (Adventure island) Finally that is my top 10 my opinion uh oh Haters of me putting Wicker man And Saw over The Smiler AAAH!
i love rollercoasters. i’ve been watching videos about them for the past few days. the only problems are that i’m petrified of them and i have sensitive ears!!
I was a mid teen when that ride opened its first year (so probably their prime target audience). EVEN back then I thought... it's not really about the ride but the "worlds first" thing, it's that experience you go through to tell all your school mates the next day that you went on it! I still think that now however I don't under rate it.... but I'd score it low for ride time. it's 1 trick pony, a very good one but still a 1 trick pony.
My favourite are: 1) Vampire 2) Dragons fury 3) Tiger rock 4) Gruffalo river ride adventure! 5) the Kobra 6) The Kong 7)Monkey mayhem 8) The wave 9) Scorpion Express 10) Monkey swings I haven’t really been to any of the major big theme parks in uk like Alton towers or Thorpe park but in summer I’m hopefully going to Alton towers and I’m super excited!!
#1 for Me has to be Icon. Very comfortable, very smooth and just a genuinely fun ride. Haven't ridden Smiler though to be fair. That looks good too. Last time I went Alton Towers was donkeys years ago.
Agreed 100% Icon is the UK's best coaster. Go on later in day when it gets faster... you walk off this ride grinning. Its just that good and so so smooth - for full effect get battered on infusion first, stagger over and queue up for the antidote that is Icon.

My favourite is and will always be icon it’s THE BEST
Im so glad to see swarm get the respect it deserves, I respect this list! ❤ Thanks Shawn
Stealth was the first coaster I ever went on, MY GOD the adrenaline
same here, let’s just say the rest of the rides at thorpe park were a breeze after that
@@saladpiano yup. Although because I was only just 10 when I first went I didn’t go on saw the first day :(. But I went on it the day after and it was great :)
@@m4gn5g62 went on stealth for the first time on the 23rd this year lol, saw was incredible but it gave me a massive bruise on my right arm
@@saladpiano I went front row stealth for the first time going on it it was very quick but with saw my head was bashing around half the time
Nemesis will always win it for me.
Nemesis. If that beauty was longer, it would be one of the greatest coasters in the world.
Could not agree more about icon.
It is so smooth and the queue line is really quick because sometimes it can have three trains on at once. But I would put the big one at number three and nemesis at two
My favourite has to be nemesis
Icon is one of my favourites just because of the speed you gets and the view of the pleasure beach you get
I've only been on Stealth once and jt was front row and I was so nervous, if I go on a coaster for the first time I prefer to be in the middle but I'm so glad I got the front row in the end it was 100% worth the mild anxiety I was feeling 😅😅😅
Personally my favourite coaster is The Smiler
1)Icon
2)nemesis
3)smiler
4)big one
5)ultimate
6) kumali
7)13
8)Velocity
9)Nickelodeon Streak
10)Raptors Attack
You should rank all the RMC you have been on
Thanks for your suggestion!
Always makes me happy to see fantasy island get some love ^^
Honestly quite surprised to see Stealth on the list! It's definitely grown on me over the years (maybe my third favourite ride at Thorpe Park now) but I still wouldn't queue very long for it because it's such a short experience.
I queued 3 hours 😭 was worth it tho ✌️
I went on stealth and was disappointed 😭 it just hurt my neck and was rlly boring. At least I only waited for abt 5 mins
I was pretty accurate with my guesses. I had the top 3 matched exactly. Icon is definitely deserving of first place; it’s so smooth.
I was surprised to learn The Big One is taller than Stealth; it’s so imposing!
Big one deserves 1st
Great to see Megaphobia so high. I rode it last summer and it was so much fun, especially in that back row!
It’s epic, especially at night!
Nemesis and Icon always flip fop the number 1 spot for me. I love them both
The Smiler takes the cake for the best in the country for me, followed by Stealth and Nemesis
I agree with Shawn, icon and nemesis are superior in terms of theming and smoothness
I’m all for experiences so smiler and wickerman take the cake for me
Great rides!
My favourite UK coasters: Nemesis,Stealth,Icon,Wicker Man, The Smiler and The Swarm. I love it that you mention now also EU mesurements, that's nice 👍🏻🤟🏻.
Awesome list! Thanks for watching!
First time riding the ultimate and it broke down on the lift hill, glad we got an extra go though👍
Smiler is insane. I love it

i love rollercoasters. i’ve been watching videos about them for the past few days. the only problems are that i’m petrified of them and i have sensitive ears!!
I thought the Oblivion would have made your list. 😂
Oblivion will always be one of my favourites but the only downside is that its so short
My favourite are:
1) Vampire
2) Dragons fury
3) Tiger rock
4) Gruffalo river ride adventure!
5) the Kobra
6) The Kong
7)Monkey mayhem
8) The wave
9) Scorpion Express
10) Monkey swings
I haven’t really been to any of the major big theme parks in uk like Alton towers or Thorpe park but in summer I’m hopefully going to Alton towers and I’m super excited!!
Been on the front row of odyssey and it's the best drop ever
It’s an epic drop!
I pooped my self not literally but I loved it

We can’t wait to get back in the parks! We’ve got plenty lined up for 2021 so fingers crossed!
I’ve been on Icon and I loved the experience.
i been on it loads it's amazing. i live only 1 hour or so away from blackpool so i go there like 3 or 4 times each year to blackpool
It’s such a smooth roller coaster, super fun to ride
Nemesis will always be my favourite, this makes me miss rollercoasters and themeparks so much
It’s so smooth for the age group of it
i think my favourite has to be stealth at thorpe!
It’s a fantastic coaster!
#1 for Me has to be Icon. Very comfortable, very smooth and just a genuinely fun ride.
Haven't ridden Smiler though to be fair. That looks good too.
Last time I went Alton Towers was donkeys years ago.
The ultimate, oh deer!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed 100% Icon is the UK's best coaster. Go on later in day when it gets faster... you walk off this ride grinning. Its just that good and so so smooth - for full effect get battered on infusion first, stagger over and queue up for the antidote that is Icon.
Just ICONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Happy to see The Swarm at such a high position. My favourite. It’s the complete package.
Great vid would of loved to know minimum height requirements though. Makes me wanna go on the ultimate again. And i so need to get back to Blackpool.

Thx for liking my comment and when are you heading to flamingo land cause the new rollercoaster looks so good I saw the new train when I went on velocity
I have vampire in my top 10 for the overall experience
Vampire isn’t In my top ten, I think it’s too ruff
Im really surprised shockwave wasnt in this list being the first stand up roller coaster in Europe and only stand up coaster in the UK. This was the second rollercoaster with inversions in when i went on a few decades ago I never got that chance to go on backwards. I wouldve put nemesis further up personally it was the first coaster i went on inverted
