If I'm not mistaken, Aurora based her song on something she'd read in the newspaper, about a man killing his terminally ill wife. What you may describe as an act of mercy, at least to some (I guess you're not one of them, Zack). I guess there will be others in here filling in the "blanks" or that will tell me IF I'm mistaken 😉

I didn't even think of that possibility. I guess my mind is kind of heartless ass, lol. However- why the gun? That seems excessive. Aren't there doctors you can simply make a decision to pull a plug and let someone go (in the most humane way they can)?. Guns aren't 100%. I know, it's a song, and I'm being logical.

@@zack_reacts Cette possibilité du médecin est peut être valable dans ton pays , mais pas partout dans le monde. Bonne réaction quand même et continue a descendre dans le terrier de cette sublime femme.

@@zack_reacts Yes, I agree that a gun may be a harsh and brutal way of doing it. But reading through the newspapers any given day of the week you will soon come to realize that the world is anything BUT humane and logical. It's a sad thing really. Our brains are TOO complex, so quite a few of the roughly 7 billion brains WILL malfunction somehow. Or at least be wired differently from the "norm". If there even IS such a thing. Catch you later, buddy!

@@zack_reactsehm there is the option for euthenesia, I'm in the proces of that journey. This means you are talking with doctors, nurses and psychologists... this takes a while and the pain someone has is so unbareble, that the mercy act is sometimes the ultimate act of love..... I love Aurora, and this song, thanks for doing this one.... hug from the Netherlands ❤

Here is a little info from Aurora in interviews about this song. Guess we have to decide for ourselves: BTW Zack the guitarist is Odd Martin Skålnes
In an interview, Aurora was asked if the song was inspired by a personal experience, she said:
"I just think it's fascinating how people can be the same people, how you and I need oxygen, can have children, need to be embraced, we need food, water, that we smile at us... we need the same things because we are people. And it's just fascinating that some people can have in them the desire to kill while some people cannot pick a flower without feeling bad. That's about this I wrote 'Murder Song'. How can a man kill someone he loves and it happens often in the world. But he doesn't really understand what he did, it's a very complicated story. Her, she didn't want to be in this world anymore, and she knew that this man would do anything for her. She asks him to kill her and he said: 'OK, I love you, I would do anything for you.' After he killed her, he became sad because she didn't move anymore and he didn't understand where she went. He didn't understand why she left and he start crying. And it is sad, because for the rest of his life, he will not understand and he will be sad."[6]
      In another interview, she said:
"First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them.

Take a look at some of Aurora's interviews. She is a deep thinker, very intelligent, wise beyond her years, honest, genuine, extremely funny and quite risque at times (seeing and hearing such an innocent looking young person swear like a trooper is eye opening).

The extremely talented gentleman is Odd Martin, he was a part of her band for many years but left a few years back to pursue other things. She is very unique, she is authentic, multi talented artist, she puts the art in ARTistry. I would call her genius when it comes to her song writing music/lyrics and the storytelling when she performs, but, she also does have a high IQ. Great reaction, thanks.

If there is ONE thing that Aurora will make you, it's to think and reflect. Good art has the ability to do that to you. And Aurora is an ARTist 🙂 Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

It's a mercy killing on her wish, which the man grants her, because he loves her so much and would do anything for her.
The entire song is sung from the woman's perspective. This also means the countdown. She counts down for him to make sure he even manages to do it. To help him pull the trigger at all.
She knows he knows he's doing it out of mercy. She can only know because she told him so.
Also interesting is the way the two sing and what they say.
Aurora who is the victim sings: "and here I go, go, go"
While her partner, the perpetrator sings: "go!"
That means, her ghost prepares him to be gone forever and he resigns himself to it and gives her the ok with his "go", so to speak.

Adding to this great reply, notice Odd's "go" is just slightly behind Aurora's "go". That is deliberate I believe.

    Mesmerizingly eerie. 🙃
I am not sure the back story behind this song! 🤷‍♀️ But I think she wrote it when she was 17 or 18.
I found this quote from her regarding the song:
"I just think it's fascinating how people can be the same people, how you and I need oxygen, can have children, need to be embraced, we need food, water, that we smile at us... we need the same things because we are people. And it's just fascinating that some people can have in them the desire to kill while some people cannot pick a flower without feeling bad. That's about this I wrote 'Murder Song'. Young woman heard a story of a man who performed a mercy killing on his wife. She wrote a song about it.
This performance is not about the song, but the artistry in the performance. ❤

Aurora is also extremely funny in interviews with sometimes dark humor.
There is an interview where she makes the interview look partly stupid, but in the friendliest sense.
"Aurora sure knows how to interview"
look for it. It's very funny. 5 minutes long. Perfect for a reaction.
Unfortunately I can't put the youtube link here because the comment will be deleted.

Zack. This is at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert... Look at her. She is wearing a nature-coloured dress adorned with leaves. She has a moth, or a butterfly, in her hair. And when interviewed right before the event she was holding a pine cone in her hands. Is it bold to assume that she, in _this_ performance, is supposed to represent Nature? Growing up she was very often playing all by herself in the forest and nature means a lot to her, as you can se in the MV of the song "The Seed" -- in my opinion one of her very best music videos.

You should watch the documentary HAIK, you will get a glimpse of her as a person. I have the luck to understand Norweigan so have seen many intervijues with her in her own language and she has a mind that is mind blowing. I cant say she is autistic but in the HAIK documentary she kind of hints on the subject. She has a very vivid imagination and her brain is not wired like yours or mine, and that is where her magic lies !

I believe that she wrote this after reading an article about a man who had to humanely euthanize a loved one due to some type of medical condition that was not able to be treated ? I could be wrong. It’s been a long time …

Good morning Zack. Not quite sure where your comment section is for comments or suggestions for new stuff. All I see are posts already hmmmm. So here goes on totally unrelated content....Ren is wanting us to view a n d like and share The Skinner Brothers. Not getting much exposure and should. I agree. I am a senior and am enjoying their stuff. I'd prefer them without the masks. But their stuff is good. I like prawn soup. But heavier 5:10 stuff if wanted. Independent artist trying to claw through the big label world. Remember this is Rens huge weekend at SGT. Still fighting that baloney on Sick Boi and the publisher saying not paid drama. Ren had no idea. But trying to sort out.

😂… pick her brain apart… well good luck! I heard her explaining particle theory ( she didn’t like using the term The God Particle ) in to sentence- she is way out of our league, mister. I suggest that you just open your heart and take in the gift she gives us. Your “ rationality” is in the way 😉. Aurora said in a interview that she have eight messages to the world.. so we just have to listen ❤
