100% agree on the fitting comment. I've been fit when I'm swinging poorly or sore from working out or swinging well. All different results.
Still gaming the 2016 M2. will test out SIM. Ball speed trumps all for me. Shafts will sort out spin.

@@davidgroom9667 I'm an NCAA golfer and I can assure you that's not accurate. I was fit for my driver and the shafts and flexes, weights, tip, etc... all changed my spin drastically.

Just got an M2 to go with the M2 irons. Got the irons for Christmas and had to get the driver. This set rocks.
I might have to buy an M2 if I can find it for the right price. It seems to be up to par with these new clubs. I love your videos and watch them as soon as I can. Keep it coming Simon.

Head and ball speed are club head variables. If you are comparing different clubs those are the key numbers to look at. Using identical shafts won’t necessarily translate to same spin/launch in different heads due to head design/weighting.
Long story short the new stuff is slightly faster, but if you want max distance, get fitted.
Great to show a cheaper older club will do the same/ similar new club.
I’ve bought both during lockdown so can’t wait to give them a go on the range and the course 🙌🏼🤙🏼🏌️🤷🏻♂️
2016 M2 with a fujikura air speeder 40 at 45.75 inches is by far the longest driver I have ever hit by 20 yards and excellent dispersion.
We know the driver distance max’ed out a long time ago, what I would say is how quickly they age visually.

I completely agree about how so many modern drivers look too open at address. That is why I love adjustable drivers between the ability to change loft, sit in "draw" setting and moveable weights there is a setting that suits my eye and my swing. So neither M2 nor Sim Max would be suitable for me, I will stick with my original Epic for a while yet
Simon an idea for some original content. Could you do some videos for stretches/gym routines to help us to play better golf?
Although there's some information on pre round stretching, stretching in general would be good to have a video on exactly what we need to do.
Also with the gym routines, how to increase strength (core etc) for more consistent swings and more power

Not watched yet but I got an M2 in very good condition on eBay for 110 and it’s arriving today or tomorrow. Can’t wait. I suspect that the m2 will have SIMilar results to the SIM.

Going for a lesson on Saturday. Going to get them to go through the loft settings of my M2 to get the best results. Thought I would try this first instead of buying a SIM Max.
Will make a difference mate if its not already on the optimal setting.

@@gzman1 yes they made a 2016 and 2017 version. The 2016 version was better apparently. it was so popular that they brought it back last year. You can still buy it in American golf for £250.

Can you try this with a mid handicapper that has a lower swing speed and less constant ball strike. It would be cool to see if it makes a difference.
I kinda predicted the outcome both drivers soo close for an average golfer. Please do a series on all brands over a ten year span...really really curious how close (or how far) models within a brand are. Thanks
My playing partner just bought an M2 , I have an R1. Hit both, using a new PRO V1 for each. M2 lower trajectory, middle of the fairway. Go get an M2. LP
I would never pay the prices that they RRP today. I got a 2017 m2 driver and bought that secondhand for £110 last year. However I am really considering buying a new cobra F9 as now you can get them for £290 brand new. What are your thoughts? I hit the M5 at American golf last week and best drive was 344 yards but shots where not consistent they where all over the place. I hit the F9 longest was 324 yards but alot more forgiving for me.
Very good comparison vlog, My question is Thinking about buying the M2 but because my swing (and I need to practice more) from hitting a driver they tend to go right, face, pull, slice 😂 I found out that the m2 is great for forgiveness and you can get the M2 D-Type which is suppose make the ball flight to a Draw, but is it worth getting the D-type if I fade the ball all the time and would it help? can you do a comparison video of the two M2 and the M2 D-Type? We’re those range balls or real balls? I assume that matters most. My son and I still use m2, although he swings 125mph, so he just got the epic flash 5 degree long drive and is playing with it. His ball speed is 176 spin 2000 and he hits up at least 5deg. II’ve seen playing lower loft and hitting up really lowers spin for me at 100mph swing speed at 7.5 deg loft.

What is the difference with the M2 from 2017 and the 2016 version.. Because i really consider to buy the 2017 M2 and may be the M1... How is your baby? Nothing is better then comming a father✌✌
The big thing with the 2017 is they said they made it sound better. But I couldn’t tell the difference. Just as good as each other but I think the 2016 looks better. All good thank you mate! Love it.

I used to think like you the M2 was the best looking out there until I got an M3 440.
What happened with the shaft you WOULD get with the 2016 M2 driver as unless your going to buy a new shaft for your 2016 buy it isn’t the club you would be playing lol

Two great drivers.
If you get properly fit for any driver made 2016 and on I don't think you will see much of a difference performance wise between any of them

the golfordian yes the 2017 edition was rereleased as a m2 2019 edition because it performed so well they put it back in stores for 249.99! But you can find it lower! Amazing right?! Hope that can help!

From a ball speed perspective no, however from a forgiveness and launch perspective potentially. But is all about testing them side by side and seeing if there is any real gain for sure. Thanks

Not surprised. New drivers aren't any longer than ones a few years old because of USGA rules. You're wasting $400 if you're buying for more distance.
So to recap all the new clubs are smoke and mirrors..... I have a G5 Ping I’ve had 15 years and whenever I get a bit flush I go and test the “new driver” but just before I buy I say I want to hit my club to make sure it’s going to get me the extra yardage.... guess what? So far I’ve always left the shop with £400 in my bank and the G5 in my bag.
M2 all the way and buy a hybrid , fairway or wedges with the money left or quiet possibly all 3 😁
Why not sim vs m2 not the sim max?
The SIM is the M1, M3 and M5 equivalent whereas the SIM MAX is the M2, M4 and M6 equivalent.

Not a huge fan of the edit mate. Some good info on club fitting, but would have been more useful in a separate video, made it hard to follow to stay on topic on the differences between the two clubs.
