This is the best explanation I have heard. I think its hard for most people to hear this because we live in such a comfy society but it is so true, embrace being uncomfortable and you will grow
OMG that hurt that definitely takes a lot of mental strengthen I totally understand why this would be a good practice I will definitely be doing this again
WOW I was surprised at how painful that was but it really gave me confidence on where to place my mind and practice breathing I know it won’t be the same but it definitely is painful enough for good practice 😂 Thank you!
I use a similar technique - every time I stub my toe or otherwise get hurt during pregnancy I use my breathing technique and try and relax my body thru it. It's amazing how much we tense our body up over just a stubbed toe!! You don't realize until you actively try and relax thru pain how much tensing is our default response.
@@hajeralanazi8379 it went very good my labor was fast i labor for most of it at home once I got to hospital I was 7cm .. I went natural no epidural I push about 4 times and she was out 🥰 this was my first time no meds and pushing my first baby was 7yrs ago he was born via c-section….I had her in hospital but it was very beautiful and peaceful the staff followed my birth plan and was very nice and considerate we also had a doula the contractions was no joke but you can do it just breathe and have a made up mind . it comes to a point where you want to give up but know when you get there that the baby is right around the corner (transition phase) stay grounded this was where I needed the most support
I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and I've been facing fear and worrying how this delivery will go. I will definitely do this because there's so much power in mentally preparing. Thank you so much for this video!
Before my pregnancy I had been doing cold shower everyday because I want to build cold tolerance during winter. And only stop when I found out that I am pregnant. Being in a cold place is very mental game. I remember the first time I took ice bath my flight mode was activated but I was determined to keep going. I am currently 35 weeks and I hope I am mentally prepare for the big day.
This is so helpful! I used hypnobirthing with my first, but was looking for something a little different this time as it's hard to meditate with a little one, though I am still utilizing hypnobirthing techniques, this is AWESOME. ❤
Hi! At what stage of labor is this level of focus typically required? Is it like this from early labor onward (just with more time in between until active labor)?
I always just make it to 30 seconds…and my hands still burn half an hour later 😢 I think for me it would actually be a good distraction from labor pain…..that’s why I’m bringing combs to the delivery room to torture my hands. Maybe it’s a good thing my hands are so sensitive 😅👍🏻
I just tried this and it was a total torture for me to hold on to it for a min. But I agree it's a good distraction 😂😂 hopefully the actual contraction won't be that painful!
Well I practiced 1 hr yesterday and went to bed with my throat not being 100%. Now what to do if i might have gotten sick from that...Not to mention ice can potentially damage tissue, so no I won't do that again
@awerkingmama thank you, idk if it was from ice but I probably won't risk again. And yes my practice contractions were 1 hr, 1.5 minutes each every 4 minutes. In someway I think it was beneficial because sometimes it hurt so bad that mind wants to give up but if you push through you will make it.

Currently 27 weeks pregnant with my 7th. Definitely going to try this, I’m going to pair it with my Ina may gaskins relaxation technique.

I don't know if I wasn't holding it tight enough, but it didn't seem to hurt that much. Then again, I've been through labor before.
thanks so much i hope this helps me during these last 8 weeks and of course labor !!
Good to know. I’m due in two weeks. Trying this today until labor.
@@KayRob9116 congratulations 🎉 queen ! wishing you a happy healthy labor and speedy recovery ❤️🩹
How many times a day do we need to do that ice challenge?
Wonder what stage of labour this should be done- I guess first and active ?
How many times a day does this have to be repeated?

I’m sorry to hear this. You shouldn’t hold ice for an hour - only 60-90 seconds with each hand once daily.

Why I keep dropping it after 5secs 😂HELP
focus on the breath not the pain ♥️Hope that helps
as much as i prepared i still ended up taking the epidural 😅
Nothing wrong with that! It there if you need it!
