That cheato looks fanfriggingtastic. Lol. I will eagerly await your vlog on adjusti g your skimmer as I am doing my due diligence b4 I get one for my biggest tank build. I live coralline unlike in the early days whrn I hated seeing it visually make it's presence known.TFS
Mark, what I notice is once you get a system going, you are never satisfied, you want to move onto another system. No one keeps the same system for years and years, everyone wants something new and more challenging.
@@garrycole9187 pico tanks will make you hate the hobby if youre up for a massive challenge...you can go from perfect tank to total crash in less than a couple hours lol for example my pico melts aptasia....yeah you read correctly!
I 100% agree with vacuuming the sandbed. That is the first place cyano bacteria starts to build up. Then you move a rock or shift something and poof outbreak!
Somebody needs to come up with a fish poop additive so we get the benefits of the poop without the hassle and heartbreak of fish. Really enjoying watching this tank progress. Great channel bro!
Most of the Coralline additives are actually nutrients for Coralline growth rather than Coralline. There are a few who actually have Coralline and it is natural Coralline just like what you did. The difference is, yours came from a tank and went into your tank whereas the stuff in the bottle is going from the bottle into your tank. They both work just as good because they are the same exact thing. Many reefers do both as that is what I did. Also, you could have really good water paramaters and not get Coralline if your PH is on the low side of the scale.
Your bad boys don't ever have ugly stages, but maybe this time your bad boy is getting a little ugly stage. Im sure this bad boy will pull through just fine. Stick bad boys are a tough one to get rite, but you'll learn, just keep up the great work.
Yay chaeto (kay-toe), that made me smile lol. I bought a GHL 2.1 SA and slave setup due to your videos. Can you make an update video on the KHD? I want to get that next.
What type of lighting do you have? I perform a 20%wc every week. I do this because I have a basic 55 with no sump. I have a HOB filter with a nice skimmer. I want to keep nitrates down and not have to start dosing so soon. Im using the Marin pro reef salt and the 20% seems to replinish my calcium, alk etc for now. Im sure after coraline shows up I will start a kalkwasser schedule.
In the early stages it’s common to have various sorts of algae’s and sometimes bacteria too. Good flow and nutrient export helps combat these as the tank established. I keep an eye but don’t worry as it seems to be maturing well
@@eatsleepreef9565 Good to know. I think I told you before my tank is almost identical and very similar age. I'm an experianced reefer, but never seen green cyano before. I can definately see the start of it, similar to yours.
And when talking about coralline growing that your tank is good they are talking about tanks that weren’t seeded for it. As in it can take up to 6 months to start growing. 🤷🏻♂️
Also I’d highly encourage you do google and Research coralline. As coralline WILL NOT GROW ON ITS OWN. It must be introduced, and remember adding a snail or frag plug with coralline is introducing it/seeding it 😉
Again not teaching good methods bro.... getting coralline algae from someone else’s tank can 100% add unwanted pests to your system. Don’t believe me go watch the brs video on it. 🤷🏻♂️ you used to I guess just put more time in your videos and research better. Just seems like you have kinda given up since you broke down the tank that made your channel so popular. Just a shame man.... been following you for a while now and have been just very unimpressed with everything. Not trying to hit you low just giving my opinion
Unwanted pest can be added by eggs on a frag plug and even dipping that plug with 2 different dips. Don’t believe me watch my last video. Also in the first Coraline video I address this same exact thing. Not sure if you watched it. I made sure to dip this Coraline in 2 dips as well which I spoke in the video. Unless you are willing to do multistage quarantine I think you run a high risk of adding something 🤷🏻♂️. And to touch about you seeding part I completely 10000% disagree. Coraline WILL NOT GROW in an unstable system no matter how many times you seed it it. So I don’t think the topic should be on seeding but rather the Coraline growth telling you your system is stable enough to support coralline. At the end of the day brotha there is a 1000000 ways to reef. This is MY way sharing MY experiences as I am doing... wishing you all the best and happy reefing 🤙🏼😊
Dips won’t kill ich, velvet etc. Honestly any one who doesn’t QT is doing it the wrong way. Not really an opinion just facts. if you don’t QT you’re throwing money down the drain. I’ll continue to laugh and smile at those who don’t QT. They’ll never reach the success of others.

I’m still sad you no longer have your original tank, it was beautiful and I still don’t get why you replace it with this one, it’s no much bigger ☹️
Mark, what I notice is once you get a system going, you are never satisfied, you want to move onto another system. No one keeps the same system for years and years, everyone wants something new and more challenging.
It's life, you get bored after a while and want something new that challenges and excites you.
Why do you think break ups and affairs happen.

Ya it can be pretty bad if you don’t stir it often.
Ill never have substrate again. Bare bottom is SOOOO much better.
Thumbs up on all your videos!!
I stir my sandbed weekly, and have very little garbage coming from it.
Best way to do it for sure.
hope the coralline takes off for you, tank looks like it is progressing well.
Thanks!!

The one thing I learned with reefing vs freshwater is the value of a consistent fight vs just sticking to what you know you are ready to keep.
Great idea with the droppers! just ordered some!
They are life savers

where is the coralline i'm 1:47 in and don't see a fully seeded coralline tank let alone even an in worth of coralline here?
Isn't it best to put a few fish in there first and let them get established?
Do you think you might have a touch of green cyano on the sand in a couple of patches and maybe some on the rocks?

Nice update 😎
U need nitrate if have sps... they like it in moderation
My tank is 2 months old and il go coraline growing everywhere
What light do you have for your fuge?
Lower ALK will get coralline to rapidly grow
Im scared of adding all those stuff to my tank for the corals after just beating dinos. Dont wanna risk having them pop up again.
What tank is in this video?
Hi, any tips for keeping goniopora in a new system?
Gonis can be hard. I have seen a lot better results with gonis not having a mechanical filtration as they love catching food from water.
Those basically die a slow death in home aquariums. Not recommended.

It’s an advance acrylic sump. Custom of coarse, they do amazing work

How are you going to get anything for your tank without it coming from another tank? Lol
Chanel has been going down hill for a while, unsubscribed
Awwww MANN!!!\
