- It has been a year since we met comedian Violet Jones and looked at her 55-gallon reef tank. Since he was in California, Vic decided to pop out for a visit to see how her reef tank is doing. Victor and Violet sit down to discuss her upgrade to a 155-gallon tank, finding deals on Facebook Marketplace, and Violet's cost conscious, DIY approach to reefing. There are a lot of good tips, and laughs, for hobbyists of all levels in this episode.

Violet and her partner did an amazing job with their new tank. I love how down to earth she is!
Right! We can't get enough of her!
The fish are really showing off that real estate. They look so happy being able to actually get some speed! I love this build!
This series is so great! Thanks guys!!🙏
Thank you!
Great video but gave me an idea for a new series. Something informational to help newer reefers. Maybe Vic and WWC could check out some new reefer's tanks and give them advice for what they're doing wrong and how to succeed. People do crazy things and could be quite entertaining!
We are always open to trying this again!
Love seeing everyone’s tanks! Tks great channel! Love world wide corals!
Glad you like them!
Awesome DIY. No mention of how PO4 and NO3 are managed or will be ? Or did I miss that part?
5000-7000 gallons is wild
Victor is kind of like the Joe rogan of the reefing world. He has so much charisma and handles the interviews so well! These videos are true gems in learning more about this hobby.
What are the odds, I literally just watched the video you guys uploaded with her 55g tank!! Also casper is at 23:15!
Never tell us the odds 🤣🤣
Very cool! Great job! 👌✌
Thanks a lot!
going from 150 too 5000 gallons is quite the jump lol
I like how Vic kept it real telling her she would need someone to maintain it. Haha
This girl is amazing...i simply love her.
She's the best!!!
100%
28:22 I see Casper next to the return pump sick set up Adam
Brilliant!! This video is great! :D
You need more corals!! Angry bird!
Never enough corals!!!
What did she say she feeds the torches??

I was wondering why you went with a chiller instead of just a couple of fans for evaporative cooling? I’m in southern ca also and added some fans this summer when my tank was overheating, it works surprisingly well. I was wondering if you already tried that and it wasn’t strong enough?
I think it also depends on your location in So CA and how hot summer gets. I am also in So Cal and used to use fans. My house doesn't have the ac and when we traveled in August a few years ago and left the windows shut, the tank got way too hot and I lost some corals. Did not want to risk in any more and got a chiller. There are summers I don't even turn it on. Like so far this summer my chiller stays off. Was is worth it to buy it? Yes!, such a piece of mind, I never know how hot summer will get or when I end up traveling.
The egg crate divider I have done for years. Love the videos with her. Tank looks great and I know that was a lot of work buffing the scratches. 5000 gallon tank will be here only job period 😂
But what a job that would be 😅
@@WorldWideCorals 👍...I'll take that job any days of the week.
What was the food she was feeding the torches? I missed it
Benepets.
@@Reefkpr1 Thanks Phillip
That seven foot tank was only 155 gallons? Are you sure?
We trust what Violet said
@@WorldWideCorals Roger that, thanks for the reply
it looks narrow, probably 18 inches thats why
How often does she dose two part?
I found the fish on her sump! Next to the anti aquarium club smile😊

by the return
Casper is at 28:21
@WorldWideCorals How do I get my swag pack for finding Casper first?
what is benefits feeding ?
Unless it’s taken apart and re put back together. The main inner seal is not changed . So you putting new silicone on the inner Seam is not rebuilt. It’s a bandaid. Good luck.
"Reefing on a budget" *has 7 AI Primes* 😂
that is a budget, there only 230 a light, i have 7 radions xr30s there 1000 a piece lol
nice video :)
Thanks!
Why did you stop your sentence you said do you see em swimming in front of power head and stopped. Mine do that. What does that mean
23:15 casper

Buy a mighty magnet to clean 5000 gallon tank lol and there’s no need to dive. I just can’t justify paying 1k for a magnet
That's one way to do it!
Ohh my..... 😮 I gotta clean that 🧼🧼🧽🧽😅😊
😂😂👏👏👏
I found Casper 😂
Victor says he dont do social media but constantly posts a TH-cam videos???
LOL!

LMAOOOOOOO
I wonder if she would like to change her name to Violet Marlini??
😂 is it 23:15
You guys are officially the best aquatic channel
Awww... thank you for the high praise!
23:15 casper
Splitting the tank in half to acclimate fish was really smart. I have killed more fish then corals, have to try this.
Such a smart idea!
What an incredible tank! The rockscape looks so natural. It's a perfect balance of negative space. Plus the long + shallow tank size is on point. It looks like a much bigger tank. 💯💯💯💯
I totally agree!
Violet is very competent!
I have spent 20 years reading the „Koralle“ magazine in order to understand all this stuff🤡
Nice job! Great call going with the Modular Marine overflow!…that’s what I used also and they’re awesome. Really well designed and built. Cheers
Thank you!
Nice work Violet!!! I can tell you know your stuff. What material did you use to cover/skin the stand????????
Human Skin @reefkpr1
It was similar to cabinet lining paper.
😂😂😂
Keep up the great content - I can't get enough!
Thank you for watching!
5000 gal your gonna have to build the house around it. Ain't no joke
Love these people they are so good reefing on a budget.
Absolutely! Thank you for watching!
Her tank is thriving and her fish are fat. Not all advice is appreciated;)
I see all the time stamps and still donde see casper 😂 this why i will never find one
Casper 28:21
It’s in the ato container
Love you guysss
Awww....thank you!
Oh no, 28:21
28:21 CASPER!!
you pushed a fully filled fish tank across a room??? this some bull shi.....
🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
how and what do you do to get your toadstool so big ?
I don't know what she did, but mine loves phyto. High light and flow.
2 MP40s in a 55 is insane
It can be! You for sure want to make sure you have them on a low setting.
shes trippin tuff
She be
Wow she move it full of water why all the extra work so much more weight! 😅 anyway beautiful tank keep up the hard work 🎉
Very cool. I would love to hear more about how you got the glass looking like new.
So another words it could leak at any moment!
She’s not ugly
Please , give me a break
I would like to say the new iPhone is not water proof it’s water resistant. I took a couple of photos in my last tank (and yes I mean IN the tank) and I destroyed my phone.
Oh no! Yes, always double check because water proof & water resistant are not the same 😔
What time you go to sleep grandma!!! 😂😂😂
Tank looks great. Two things I would change. I would scrape that coralline. Tank would instantly look 300% better and the best part….it only costs a few ounces of elbow grease.
Other thing is that skimmer. I have one. It is small for that tank. That being said that is not my gripe. My gripe is that once you use a Octo with the DC Varios pump you will never think about using an AC pump ever again. I completely understand the “on the cheap” aspect of this tank but that is one area I wouldn’t cut corners. The DC Octo’s are soooooo good.
Overall this tank is lit. Only going to get better with time. Great job!!!
Vic cracking jokes…..I love it!!!
Thanks for watching!
What to you usually feed torches ?
You can feed Reef-Roids! We like to feed anything on the smaller "milkier" side. So Reef-Roids, Oysterfeast, and small foods they'll hold onto.
Kind of frustrating this chick trying to tell you you’re wrong with all this stuff
She won me with her opening comment: "As you know, we love a budget"... Thank you for including that. I find it odd how so many video's of reef tanks omit that part or ignore it completely.
Sure, we all love a beautiful tank. But affording one, is often a multi-year project. Few of us can just turn around and put a 5 or 6 figure tank in. Long-term planning and budgeting is a point I can not only relate to, I really appreciate seeing in video's.
Second, the tank looks great. Young, but great. Well done Ms. Jones.
Thank you for this! We want to make sure to show that you can have beautiful tanks without breaking your bank and Violet never ceases to surprise us
What does she feed the torches?
