Speed mattering less here, plus mini turbo mattering a lot more here. Firehopping not being in this game, along with other tech that benefited speed-types i believe.@@yamil3115
@@yamil3115In the Wii u version speed is all that matter but in dx its all about miniturbo
@@yamil3115 morton was the best character to perform the fire hop tech with; this tech helped you keep your speed after a boost but was patched in 8 deluxe
I still remember the vanilla MK8 days when you could not go into an online lobby without a bunch of Warios, Bowsers, Mortons and Dry Bowsers. How the times have changed.
Are Daisy and Yoshi some of the most constantly good character in mario kart history?
Daisy's basically the GOAT, and that fits her so much idk why
Some inconsistencies:
Accel =/= mini turbo completely.
Baby peach types has the same max mini turbo as baby mario types.
Toad has the same mini turbo as koopa troopa, but more speed.
Yoshi is only S tier because of how many people use him.
Tanooki mario types has the same mini turbo as diddy kong types, but more speed.
Tanooki mario type is interchangeable with yoshi practically speaking.
Opinions:
Mario, tanooki mario, and luigi deserves S tier.
King boo types deserves A tier.
Bowser types deserves B tier.
Toadette types and koopa troopa types deserves C tier.
Lastly, bump shy guy types up to B tier.
Good tier list, mostly correct in placement. I think your vehicle tier list made more sense because that's the best category for feeling/tactile based judgment calls than wheels and characters. Here, its far more about stats than how it feels i think.

I've been watching Troy on and off since late 2012/early 2013 when my brother first introduced me to him. I was only 7 years old at the time and now I'm 19 as of a few weeks ago. My favorite series back then included RTCT Fail and Recovery, his shortcut challenges, his top custom tracks and his old custom track streams which are unlisted now sadly.

the balancing in this game always just blows me away compared to past mario karts! i like that really any character is viable and it's really neat

Dumb idea that I know you probably will never do Troy, but I'm gonna say it just once anyways: Revisit every version of every custom track you ever played on Rate That Custom Track with Mayro, kind of like the way you did the revisit video of the top 10 custom tracks 2010.

My opinion: Mario and Luigi both deserve S tier. Just perfect.
My mains are King Boo, Bowser Jr and Inkling boy. Mostly because I don't wanna use yoshi lol. I have low VR so it's still easy for me to win in casual lobbies
if you locked any of them in, with a combo that you will always use, you can easily win even in +50k lobbies. You could also compete in lounge.

about the network infrastructure in this game, my theory is that Nintendo just went all Server Authoritive (server determines outcome) after all the hackers in mkwii :/
and i agree that Client Authoritive makes more sense for a game of this style, Server Authoritive works for fps games because you can't see/react to individual projectiles, but that isn't the case in mk.
Server Authoritive does have the benefit that items don't need to be aimed so far in front of other racers, because you're only working with client to server delay, not client to server to client delay :)
I'd take having a harder time sniping (MKW) over getting hit by nothing (MK8DX) any day.
I use Petey cause he was my favorite in Double Dash, and seeing him put in C is rough. But your reasons are understandable also the big head, hard to see items while looking back or even in front. (I love it.)
Take note he once raced a petey piranha user that used the varmint with GLA tires and that player was running circles around him.
@@James-pb8xu Oh I see. Thanks for that info. I guess it goes to how he feels to race as more than how good he actually is. Which I think he stated on other characters with how they controlled as well. I think I lost how the tier list was actually ranked.
@SAO_Yoshi petey is literally inferior to waluigi i think with less speed or mini turbo ( i forget) but its a 0.25 difference

I know you had the same vehicle combo to keep it consistent. But it may have been better to maximize each character type. For example, having a heavier and faster vehicle to balance out the light weights deficiencies
I feel like even with the lightest characters, the MT Bonus with mr scooty and rollers still felt pretty good especially with snaking
Light Character + Speed Karts are the worst combos in the game, it doesn't balance out the same way that Heavy Character + Mini Turbo Kart does.
@@SeaOfPixels if he chose biddy with the light characters, that would've showcased the reason to play them.
But, he doesn't know how to maximize the potential of biddy, so it wouldn't make sense for him to pick it.
I swore the King Boo Weight Class Meta was considered the 2nd most viable when Wave 4 came out. 2nd to Yoshi weight class
king boo has better speed, weight & traction but worse acceleration, handling & mini-turbo than mario & luigi
Thankfully in this one he based the characters off how good they are instead in how well he did with them, because in the vehicle one he would give two vehicles with the same stats b and s
to be fair stats aren't everything, he mentioned in the video how the teddy buggy and yoshi bike have the same stats but control completely differently because of the change in drift styles, hitboxes are also to be taken in consideration and general feeling with the vehicle, also the track plays a huge role due to how tue game is balanced
overall he did say that one tierlist was based mostly on the one race feeling he got and personal preference and wasn't by any means an "official" one, there's plenty of them on youtube and the internet in general
@rajkanishu he was also pretty inconsistent with stats. Baby peach has the same mini turbo stats as baby mario, dry bones, and the like. Toadette doesn't have max mini turbo. Mini turbo doesn't equal acceleration 1:1. Etc

I use the Mii heavyweight as my main character in MKWii
Pretty sure light-weight mii is like baby mario/baby luigi, medium-weight is like Mario/Luigi and the heavy-weight is like Funky Kong. Correct me if I'm wrong

I enjoy watching all the races, but I'd like to suggest some changes to your list
* Tanooki Mario's weight class should be in S-Tier. Your list has a weird inconsistency where not every weight class with the same Speed and MT is next to each other. (I.E. You put Luigi and Mario's classes next to together but not Funky Kong and Bowser's.)
* Luigi and Mario weight classes should be above Diddy Kong's weight class.
* King Boo and Waluigi's weight classes should be above Dry Bones and Bowser Junior's weight classes
* Funky Kong's weight class should be around where Bowser's is, but both should be higher than the Metal characters
* Toad's weight class should be above Bowser Junior's weight class, but lower than King Boo and Waluigi's
* Toadette's weight class should be grouped with Bowser Junior's, even if they are worse
* Metal characters are IMO the worst characters in the game
I'd also like to offer my justification for Metal characters being the worst: despite having a higher Speed + MT total than all lightweights and the same Speed + MT total as Diddy Kong, the stat distribution is ass. They have the 2nd lowest MT in the game while also having less MT than King Boo, less Speed than Waluigi and really bad acceleration. Their handling is also really bad unless I use Pipe Frame + Roller or Biddybuggy + Roller. Every time I race with Petey Piranha, I feel like I have to play a near perfect game to get the desired levels of MT, all while being slower than Bowser, Wario and Waluigi. Granted, I don't think any of the lightweights are good either, but at least they have real MT stats and can actually accelerate in a worst case scenario.
