I can't believe they added 48 tracks and 40+ characters in Wave 0 😲😲 Definitely my favorite wave of them all!!
Also the pipe frame has more handling than the teddy buggy, which is important on some 200cc tracks. The teddy buggy has more glider speed and antigravity speed though!

I think Waluigi Wiggler is still the best combo ever but I think I also like the Pauline Wiggler with Bowser glider too so thats a thing.

1:40:40 is a better timecode for context imo. Yours jumps like a minute after the cut you’re referring to lol

8:48 Pipe Frame isnt meta, but insanely good and easily A-Tier. So if you feel as if you’re better with it than compared to Teddy, use it, you wont regret it! This comes from a pro player using pipe frame.
Oh and as a side note:
Compared to Teddy it has more invincibility frames, more water speed, acceleration and traction. Same mini turbo and ground speed.
It loses glider speed and a little anti gravity speed. Handling is mostly the same between the two.
So Pipe Frame is good for tracks without gliders and Teddy better on tracks with gliders you could perhaps say.
@@falk9417actually, cat cruiser has same stats as teddy, except that teddy has 2 less invincibly
Seriously people overestimate the teddy and yoshi class. If anyone feels like they do better with a different combo they should just use it cause the difference is actually so tiny in anything but time trials.

Yeah I just use Pauline Teddy which is literally just the old meta combo before yoshi but I unironically like it more because of the invincibility and advantage on stages like Wii Rainbow Road that are just straightforward non snaking tracks.@@deborahkaye747
The Amsterdam Drift 200cc shortcut was actually invented by me when it first came up, I really did not expect it to be faster than just tricking off the mole hole.
1:07:48 the bell cup is by far my favorite cup in the game, every track is top tier imo and the fact that all of them are difficult makes is so much better.

on singapore, alberto drives on the red, "slower" conveyer because the slowdown really isnt that powerful, so taking a tighter line ends up being faster. also, the glider strat you saw on singapore, and later on tracks like merry mountain and thwomp ruins is called the "jenzua glider," nicknamed after the player jenzua, who discovered it

Btw, the Mario Kart Stadium world record you watched is a cheated run. The actual world record is 1:07.271 by Army which is definitely worth watching.
Edit: Only just noticed this but the Moo Moo Meadows ghost you watched isn't world record either. 0:58.517 is the actual world record which is a tie between Army and Albert.
Hi Troy, just so you know, The ghost you watched on mario kart stadium is actually hacked (250cc), the real world record is the 2nd in the Leaderboard
Even after the stat changes it remains first? That sucks and Nintendo doesn’t do anything about it
@@sediew its because mario kart stadium wr is using wario wiggler (its fatser) and it is Still faster after the balance patch, so nothing has changed sadly. The wr is like 0.2s slower than this hacked one
this would definitely be the longest video on the channel but a reaction to every ctgp world record would be hype

It's so cool to see so many different characters and vehicles being used for these. I know it's because they're the best options for the tracks, but it gets pretty boring only seeing Funky Flame Runner and Daisy Mach Bike in Wii

The one single thing that stood out to me the most is that you don't drive every lap the same way, unlike in older games. Second most: the teleportation strat is a thing.

Coins made time trials a lot more interesting IMO just because it means slightly different routes between laps.

Something very subtle about the streetle cushion tire combo they used for the ice track who’s name escapes me:
They utilized the bounciness of thsoe tires to skip the extra bit of snow better, on another combo the second to last corner would have had them land firmly in the snow instead.

I love the fact that the kart combos are tailored to the tracks, like how on tracks with a lot of water, they use the streetle

okay so here’s the thing about pipe frame, i see it pretty often online because i only play 200cc and my main combo is wiggler pipe frame and azure rollers. (using wiggler is weird i know)
Good to see my boy King Boo getting so much use! Also interesting that we got so much King Boo and Rosalina, but no Pauline! I guess many of these records were set before Wave 6
I was surprised at the Moo Moo Meadows WR being so fast it skipped straight to the next track...
But in all seriousness I was definitely surprised at how some corners were taken in ways I never thought would be possible, I really loved the Donut Plains one !

The W25 Silver Arrow has the same stats as the Wild Wiggler, it's probably just used for the hitbox and the stats, even though they're not buffed

Hey Troy! Race series format idea: was watching an old formula kart video where you did 50 laps on DK summit with a ramp up from 150 to 200cc. I think it would be super cool to do a big invitational formula GP, say with four 20 lap races, with the wonder decided by lowest total time rather than going off points. Would be a cool test of pure driving skill as the item luck really tends to average out over longer races, especially with the chaotic roulette. Thanks for the content!
I think on Toad Harbour if you don't use the mushy at the start you get pacelocked since that lap 2 shortcut and the lap 3 tram enterance was really tight, but I think that if there wasn't a pacelock that using the mushy lap 3 instead at the start might be faster

hey troy, it'd be really cool to see you react to all of the mario kart 8 U world records sometime considering the crazy differences in strategy and combos between 8 U and 8 Deluxe. Maybe you could even revisit the game sometime if you'd like, either before the servers for the wii u shut down or just when pretendo is finished and public
41:21 I think it's probably faster to do the shroomless cut, but coins are a must. So it's probably still worth it if you're in first place and you can nail it, since you're getting coin items anyways.

The closest game I could think of was Sonic Riders, since if you run out of Air it forces you to run to a refill station on foot so you can get back on the board, so you really have to learn Air management if you want to stand a chance. In a Mario Kart game with a feature like you mentioned you could throw a countdown on screen and if you don't make it to your kart in time you respawn at the previous checkpoint.

This is the list
Some of these tracks look less like crazy shortcuts and more like trackmania performance, either way nice wrs
I feel a lot less bad about myself now seeing that even the WR needs to tap break around the left turn branch on Maple Treeway.

Wave 7 is booster pass and I played Mario kart for years in college so it have Bowser’s Castle and Rainbow Road TOO!! But it was literally the best thing to play with friends!
There is a standard layout on Excitebike Arena for time trials.

24:55 The main reason you don't really see Singapore or Thailand online is because over here we don't have an available Nintendo E-Shop, so we can't get Nintendo online unless we change our locations, any SouthEast Asian online players are probably shown as a USA or Canada etc. flag
