    In your own words: "Do I really want an XBOX? No. Do I really need an XBOX? No. But I feel like I work hard and I deserve it." In reality, since the day you stepped onto the XBOX Series platform, you have been trying to convince yourself that you need something you didn't really want, that's foolish logic. The next time you don't want something, don't buy it because you think you work hard and deserve it.

      Bro forget the acquisitions for a minute, u telling me since the. XBox one gen until now, the only brand new AAA titles that have released have been straight halo and forza. Bethesda games are miles away and Activision games still have marketing exclusivity with PlayStation. I don’t wanna talk about games that’s beyond 2024. I’m focused on the now and the near future, Xbox doesn’t have much interesting coming out. Even the news of fable having to be downscaled because of technical difficulties is really alarming. Avowed is far off, starfield, although a great concept, I don’t think is gonna release and meet peoples expectations, and even if it do, that doesn’t justify owning a whole series X. Maybe a series s but nothing more

      @@fresco_dinero5155 Bro that's such a fanboyish take. You could say the same thing for ps exclusives. They feel like movies more than games in my opinion. Also there is Xbox game pass with more than 25 games coming in the next 12 months. Did you even watch the xbox showcase or just wrote this based on your gut.
      Comin to exclusives there is obviously starfield which will run the best on series x unlike series s cuz creation engine is shit. Also there is redfall, scorn ,stalker 2, Forza Motorsport and games like hollow knight silksong and wo long from team ninja comin day 1 to xbox game pass with so much more. Also don't forget kojima and xbox game studios partnership. Xbox is doing really well. Also what games are coming on ps other than gow for this year?.

      @fresco_dinero5155 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@amanpradhan02 mind u this comment was 3 weeks ago, before the showcase. But with the showcase in mind, nothing particularly impressed me. Starfield must not be my cup of tea because it didn’t look good. Dry, boring, bad performance and animations, it just seems like any old Bethesda game and I’m cool off that respectfully. All the other games showed was smaller AA or indie games that yea sure it’s games, but it’s not the big budget high end games I like.
      Yeah ps games have more cinematic movie elements but I prefer that because the games also have nice and rewarding combat and each story is uniquely different and immersive. I’m not saying there’s no games like that on Xbox, but none that seems worth buying a Xbox for. Redfall looks decent but it also just looks like another fortnite style hero shooter and we don’t need no more of that. But if you like Xbox I’m not gonna fault you for that. I don’t see Xbox as negatives only, they do have some charming qualities, but compared to my ps5 I’d rather stay on my ps5 especially with the new ps plus. Once again not disrespect to u or ur console

I also scooped up a PS5 because I liked psvr and wanted a PSVR2 for their unique games when it comes out. I have found myself only playing either on my PC or the PS5. I sold my XSX just a few weeks ago. If you have a decent PC there is just no need, now I can also pay for the cheaper PC only game pass if I want. I started off late in the game by getting an Xbox One two years ago for £50 but recently after thinking long and hard I decided to get a Series S for £170. I liked the idea of faster load times and running the new titles on new architecture. I didn't go for the Series X because it costs a lot more and I would be running it on my current TV which is 1080p. It wouldnt have been worth doing unless I spent even more upgrading my TV which I dont really want to do.
    For disc based games I still have the Xbox One, but saying that I have over 450 digital games on a 5TB portable drive. In a way it substitutes the Series X for me because I can play disc based and backwards compatible games. It also runs all the digital stuff straight from the portable hard drive. You can't do this with X/S optimised games. So by owning a One and Series S I kind of have the best of both worlds. I do plan on getting a series X eventually, but I’ve just been playing digital games on my Xbox One most of the time because of Game Pass Ultimate. After thinking about it, I realized my physical library on Xbone was substantially smaller than my PS4 library or Switch library, so I didn’t really feel bad about getting the Series S and an external hard drive. Even though my 360 library was pretty big, I’ve been able to get a lot of my favorites on sale for like $3 each digitally. So this is basically over $200? I don't think you realize how much more you get for that money. You're get a better 4K UHD player then the PS5 that supports Dolby Vision & Atmos. You also get a more capable gaming system which includes more twice the storage, 2x-3x the better graphics, and being able to play any Xbox games using the drive. A similar 4K UHD player alone is like $200-$300!
    I got all 3 systems that you mentioned in this video. Each has their own benefits. The reason why I got the XSX though is that I don't have a full fledge gaming PC. You're stating everything on the fact that everyone has a gaming PC already so just get Game Pass Ultimate on the PC instead. While this is true if you do have a nice rig but you also have to remember that there are a lot of casual gamers out there like myself that likes to just get something simple for their fix. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 gaming labtop but it's not as beefy as an XSX. It won't do 4K 60 at high settings so let's just say that. Then again it did cost a lot more then the XSX. I don't want to hook it up to my TV every single time just to play my Xbox games either. Game pass is awesome and I like the flexibility of it. I too like physical copies of my games but there are certain games that I don't care so much for and would rather just pay for them digitally or play them through Game Pass. It's most likely that I will not touch them again once I beat them that's why.
    I'm keeping my XSX cause I have a lot of Forza Horizon to catch up on as this is my first Xbox since the OG one. Also remember that with Game Pass that a lot of digital games are discounted. I just picked up Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate just for $35! Plus the fact that I could play it anywhere as well, PC/Xbox/Mobile. I don't game as much as I use to when I was younger but I think the XSX is a solid system for the price if you could get it. Time to find some of my OG Xbox games. I still have two of my OG Xbox systems, one is modded of course.

      I am going to disagree with your logic. I am a nearly 40 year old fully disabled combat veteran. Obviously that means I live on a very fixed income (and a low income when you factor everything in) that said it took me OVER TWO YEARS OF SAVING to get my PS5 which I was FINALLY able to get 33 days ago!! I bought my 65” LG CX two years ago specifically because I knew I’d be getting a next gen console at some point. I am SO GLAD I didn’t settle for the Series S. I mean it’s probably fine for people who don’t know any better or for people who don’t care about having an ACTUAL NEXT GEN CONSOLE. I’m not here to bash on the Series S, although I will say at some point in the near future unless Microsoft changes their TERRIBLE PARITY STIPULATION, we are going to start seeing that the Series S WILL HOLD BACK THE ACTUAL NEXT GEN CONSOLES, those being the Series X and of course BOTH PS5’s because they’re exactly the same the only difference being that one has an optical disc drive and one doesn’t (I opted for the disc version because I don’t want to be forced into buying all digital games when I can buy used games cheaper). Regardless, everyone has a right to do whatever they want with their own money but I can’t see ANY argument outside of the ones I mentioned about not caring about next Gen gaming or whatever. IMO if you’re going to buy a console and you DON’T care about having the best, why not just buy a previous generation console? I mean a number of developers have already said The Series S isn’t much more powerful then the PS4 pro or Xbox One X anyways.

I mean you can’t even play the shit of all shit spiderman games on Xbox series x… the amazing Spider-Man 2. That’s just a thought though. Matter of fact the only game that I had on my list that worked backward compatible was fable 2 that’s it, skate didn’t work, neither did 15 or so of my other disk games for 360. I mean isn’t the point of backwards compatibility supposed to be for that reason. It’s like calling it backwards compatibility but with limited features. Like being told a movie at the theatres plays in IMAX but you go in and it’s playing at a basic stream with shit quality. Even the hitman absolution I spent 80 dollars on, which is a joke if you ask me wasn’t rendering 60 fps when it should be and the loading on that game was still slow as molasses

    XSX is the perfect *single* gaming system. If you are limited on space and budget, and don't have a gaming PC, the XSX, or Xbox Series in general, is the best option IMO. Backwards compatibility down to the OG Xbox, Game Pass with tons of games, it's awesome.
    However, if you intend to own multiple consoles or already have a gaming PC, the Xbox doesn't really provide much extra. It still allows you to play stuff from the 360 and OG era, whereas the PS5 is only compatible with PS4 titles and then some older stuff via streaming subscription, so that's the one benefit.

  • @wisdumcube
    @wisdumcube 2 ปีที่แล้ว +55

    Buying digital-only consoles like the series S really only saves you money upfront. At first it feels like you are getting minimal features for an extra $200, but then you realize $200 is less than 4 full price games worth of value (or over a year's worth of gamepass). If you are planning at all to play newly released games outside of the gamepass ecosystem (like popular releases like Elden Ring), you will make up the difference really quickly by buying physical games at discounted prices. Digital games never get the level of discounts as physical, especially as quickly, and you can also resell physical games. The only really dirt cheap digital deals are games that are close to a decade old or more. If the series S had a disc drive it would be a much better value and would edge out the series X easily.

The offline UI is terrible, achievements are non existent offline, day1 update means you can't repair your console after server shut off. This is unacceptable if you've got a collection of expensive game discs that you want to play again. They just do not care about anyone being able to play their games after server shut off or those with dodgy internet. I turned by back away from Xbox.

    I do like the Series X because I can still buy discs at the used game stores for it - (even though they are glorified installation discs) - cheaper than the digital prices in most cases. Then I can resell those installation discs if it is just not for me.

    I don't have a Series X yet, and although Series S is a great console, the fact is all digital is a no go for me. The reason is that I have a good collection of XBOX 360 and XBOX One physical games, and some of them, such as older Forza Horizon or Forza Motorsport games are not available to buy digitally anymore due to license issues. So the only way of playing those games is using the disc. I would be happy with a Series S with disc drive, but as this is not an option, I'll have to go with the Series X.
    Another point is that, although GamePass is great (I had it for two years and experienced great games, including Halo Infinite), I think it is a bit too expensive. If it was $80 per year, as the Live Gold was, it would be a no brainer, but at $15 per month ($180 per year) I think it is too expensive. You can use that money and buy over 7 AAA games on physical or digital sale for that price (assuming an average cost of $25 per game).

    I bought an Xbox Series X for the third-party games as at the time the PS5 did not support VRR so Far Cry 6 and Assassin's Creed: Valhalla would have screen tearing which the Microsoft version wouldn't.
    Of course, the PS5 now has VRR support but it is barebones compared with Xbox Series X so there is no low-framerate compensation at 120 Hz for 20-120 FPS; instead you have 48-60 Hz in most PS5 games unless they are patched. And since VRR launched there have hardly been any so any badly-optimised game like Elden Ring will stutter below 48 FPS unlike the Xbox Series X version. It may only be a minor thing for most but for me it is transformative, turning an unplayable game into a playable one. Just try playing The Smurfs Mission Vileaf on PS5 and Xbox Series X to see what I mean; the Sony version is a juddery mess but it runs completely smooth on Microsoft's console even though neither version has a locked 60 FPS framerate. It also shows how far ahead of Sony that Microsoft are when it comes to supporting basic features. I mean you still cannot copy or move files in the background on the PS5 which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion as this feature was supported on Xbox One!!!
    Love both consoles; the PS5 has vastly superior exclusives for sure, which was why it was the only one I bought at launch, to the Xbox but I am very glad that I own both so I can play the best version of any third-party release.

You're making it seem as though they're like-for-like when they're really not. Also, it only has 500GB storage, but even with the new 1TB Series S, the Series X is still better value for money. You also mentioned physical copies, well that goes out the window if you have a Series S because it's digital only. I occasionally like to buy games and sell them after, or buy older used games for cheap, so a disk drive is absolutely necessary. I had gamepass on my computer but it takes a couple of days at the very least to download digital versions if I do nothing but download exclusively. I figured I would buy the Series X so that I can buy the hard copy and play from disk.... well.... that is not how it works. You buy the hard copy, it installs it to the hard drive and then you have to install updates. For example, I bought Elden Ring, installed the disk and it took about 2 hours to install to the drive, I figured ok, I will be able to play it in a couple of hours, nope! Once it was done installing, I was forced to install the update which still has about 11 hours to go. The point to me purchasing this model was so that I could forego any downloads from my ISP, but since Microsoft decided that they would not allow you to setup this model without some sort of internet connection, I had to give it access to my slow ISP and am now forced to install a patch in order to play the game that I purchased a hard copy of to avoid having to try and download anything through my shitty ISP. The way you feel is exactly how xbox wants you to feel. Both Sony and xbox came out with discless systems because they want that to be the only way you play. They are getting us used to only playing with gamepass. I wish they made the series x the same way sony did the ps5 with and without a disc drive. Makes building the systems cheaper for them in the future. The only downside is the backwards compatibility with your old disc collection.

    Dude it all depends per case, i own both ps5 and xsx, games on xsx DEFINITELY look better without a doubt. Warzone is a blurry mess on ps5, other crossplatform games do look better on xsx. Where the ps5 shines are the exclusives and great upscaled ps4 games which are upscaled from 1080p, mostly games from the beginning of last gen which didnt get a patch. For example tekken 7 looks better om ps5 since its upscaled from 1080p. But the general problem is on ps5: all games must be purchased seperately And backwards compatibility only goes to ps4. Where xsx plays pretty much every major xbox game since 2002. Honestly a big f* up by Sony.i would love to play tekken2/3 heck id buy them. Xbox litteraly gives everything without any bs. So when friends come over we play old dead or alive 3/4 og xbox games or any old battlefield game, no problem for free! Or any cod /battlefield from the pas 20 years! Heck any EA game for that matter.Try that with a ps5, everything is problematic and too much to ask. Now they are finally releasing new ps plus, how much ps1 games are there? Like 15... wtf.Honestly a lot of ps5 exclusives also going to pc which for me make the ps5 absolete.

  • @Celdoir

    I agree that PS5 has better first party but if we are strictly talking about Xbox Series X vs S, X is still the far superior version to buy, especially if you have the disposable income. Frame rate & resolution if that's important to you, load times (huge issue for me), graphic fidelity: sharpness, texture detail, density, ray tracing, etc. and 3rd party next gen games will only be on xbox series X when they start pumping out the high graphic ones. To "future proof" yourself, xbox series X with game pass means you can play all 3rd party games, get cheap games & day one releases. If someone must choose only one, xbox seems to be a really solid option.
    that being said, I own ps5, have a high end TV, and if I do pick up an xbox I'd still want the series X because I want performance (60fps, 4k, fast loading)

Being able to play on the go anywhere on different systems etc. I just feel like it’s much more modernized than PlayStation currently is so I wouldn’t miss the last of us if I couldn’t have a PlayStation which I still do so it’s still not a big deal to me but I had to get rid of one of my three systems it would be the PlayStation five at this point because honestly I could just play the one or two games on PlayStation every year that I really want to if I couldn’t have all three but Nintendo is Nintendo and I feel like Xbox overall has more games that I would play I just enjoy the system more

So you have to keep shuffling the games on the console, deleting one and downloading another. Which is fine if you play a few games at a time for awhile and keep other games on external storage. But the series X has 1TB of storage with quick resume, so it's going to hold more games and larger games, and you can jump in right where you left off.

    I think you really spoke to my experience more than I thought could be possible. I also regret buying the Series X. I had the Series S first. But like you when I had the opportunity to "upgrade" to a Series X, I sold the Series S and bought an X.
    I regret it. What you gain isn't enough. I don't have lots of legacy Xbox 360 games. I really didn't need the disc drive. I do most of my gaming on Gamepass and I use it basically like you do as a library to experiment with. I much prefer the dual sense as a controller so I prefer to play big releases on Playstation, exclusive or even third party.
    I also truly believe that to get the best value out of Gamepass you have to have lots of free time, which I don't. I usually only actually can play maybe one game on Gamepass per month. Otherwise, I'm buying them to keep on PS5 or Switch.
    I wish I would have kept my Series S. Because to be honest what I use Gamepass most for - just trying new games to see if I like them - I could just as easily do on my laptop through Ultimate!

    To me, it seems like your biggest gripe is the $500 price point and that you already have a PS5. However, the PS5 Digital was $400 and the only thing you lose is a disc drive. I went the route of getting a Xbox Series X over S because I have a healthy catalog of physical discs and digital games not found on the GamePass. I, also, don't have a lot of times to play games which is the reason why I didn't plan on getting GP. The Series S is a good console, but didn't justify the $300 MSRP price tag. It's now coming down to being $250 which is price I felt like it should've been all along in my opinion. I didn't want to miss out on a Sony console this generation like I did for the past 2 generations so the PS5 Digital has been great for me. I don't agree with some of the points, but I respect your honesty and appreciate you sharing.

PS exclusives haven't been that great since the 6th-7th generation imho. The best games are usually 3rd party games, so in that sense XSX takes the cake with better performance and features. I'm pretty sure like in the 8th generation most of the developers will not utilize the controller features which was the case with the PS4 controller. Not for the same reasons, but I too regret buying a Series X. I grew up a console gamer, but I have been more of a PC gamer since the late PS3/360 era. I've always bought the new consoles because when they dropped they were always a slight upgrade power wise and these consoles were no different, but this time with things like DLSS the gap was a lot more narrow. I told myself just to get a Series S because as long as I've been playing on PC I'm not as good with M&K as I am with a controller. I play everything on PC with a controller so multiplayer titles still needed to be on Xbox if I didn't want to get waxed. I bought the Series X because I wanted the best, but after several upgrades to my PC and monitor, I'm back to not playing it unless there's a game I got a deal on and got it on console or it's a multiplayer game. I have it now, so trading it in or selling on eBay and getting robbed by their seller fees isn't great so I'll just keep it. It's going to run all my old games well, and it's a great machine for console gamers, but I will not be buying any kind of "pro" upgrades this time around.

      Yeah the physical deals are crazy for Series X and PS5, especially for newer used games if you are looking at places like ebay or Gamefly. You can pick up the latest Ubisoft game for like $20 months before it will even go on sale for 50% off. I got COD Vanguard for less than $20. Ironically, the deals are so good because digital is so popular. But if you are frugal and a tiny bit patient, you will save so much money by buying disc games. Also there are backwards compatible games that have not been sold on the Xbox storefront for a long time because of licensing issues, but still work on the series X, like the first Forza Horizon. I think that's a use case that adds value to the series X. Also, if you want to get into emulation of newer consoles and don't have a PC, the series X has some much-needed extra horsepower for the task.
