    1:16 You wrong. %33 loss here. If a shadow falls on the upper part, the lower part cannot produce either.

    Nice explanation, but wrong explanation! If only 1 Halfstring is shaded, the Diode will kick in and the losses are the same (33%) If 2 are shaded, you loose 50% (Instead of 66%). But only if you use MLPE: If you use a Stringinverter, it depends where the String MPPT ends: Max Amps or Max Voltage.

    but for which temperatures are full cells problematic? I can imaging countries with constant 35-40 degrees heat, but on lets say UK would that be a problem?

    Add Sma Shadefix and you are ok
