Nice to see speaker's going back to 2 "true stereo" sound speaker's! Happy to see people are starting to see the importance of real hi-fi sound reproduction!
@@SerjSam I cannot comment on the Kanto, but I listened to Audioengine speakers in comparison with Australian Aktimate speakers (both similar price and size), and the Aktimate completely outclassed the Audioengine!
I got a YU2 and they sound great for their size. I also got one of Kanto's down firing subwoofers, the YURI. Together with the YU2 speakers, they make an amazing entry-level 2.1 system. I am a fan of Kanto speakers. I might get their TUK speakers for my home theater system.
Hi, when you connect cable to your yu2 subwoofer out, does it suddenly cut off low freq? Could you check by plug unplug cable to it while playing music? I want to know if its normal.
Very nicely explained!! I have a question about the YU4 (or now the YU which is the same as the 4 but without phono, opticals and just in black) My set up is on a desk facing a wall and I want these speakers for listening to music whilst using the PC. As there is a sub outlet at the back of the speakers, what is the minimum distance I can have them from the wall without getting a muddy boomy sound to the bass? Thanks
Depends what you're looking for, really. Kanto has the built-in preamp and Bluetooth, so that's nice. Pure sound quality, we would give Audioengine the edge. If you want the best of all worlds, check out the Peachtree M24 and M25.
Just ran across your video review. Very informative. I am kind of an audiophile. The sound of my music is extremely important to me. I'm not as concerned about price as I am sound reproduction. Are the Kantos the best computer speakers with which you are familiar or are there better? I'm looking for the best sounding desk top computer speakers.

I will fill one out. I'm not a gamer. I have over 40k songs in my library and I love movies. So I'm trying to get the best sound I can, understanding that I have limitations due to the space available to download all that music. I need to learn about DACs, too. It seems that would enhance my sound quite a bit.
Hey I am Michael and I have a Denon DP67l turntable and look for the best solution of speakers for it. Which speakers with an inbuilt preamp and amplifier is the best solution and gives me the highest musical quality? The Kanto Yu4 or would you recommend abother one? Thanks and greetings from Switzerland
I seen the YU4 and a Bluetooth turntable as a package for sale. Does this mean I need no wires coming from the Turntable too the YU4 speakers. The speakers would be placed at a distance from the turntable and I don't want wires showing.
Will the subwoofer pre-out work with standard home theater subwoofers, or do they only work with their own brand's subs? I have an 8" Energy subwoofer that is compact and precise that I would love to be able to pair with it, but figure that may not be an option?
Your Energy should work fine as long as it has a level control on the rear, you will be able to balance it out. You will want to run into the sub input that uses the crossover built into your sub, depending on the Kanto, you'll want to play with crossover settings from 80 Hz to 120 Hz to see which blends best. Thanks for watching
Kanto YU6 or Audioengine HD6? i know a bit of a price difference but $ is not always a measure of excellence. Use for TV and living room music in a larger apartment. Would like to stream music prefer wifi over bluetooth, so probably would want to connect via chromecast audio or similar (also any recommendation on that wifi vs. bluetooth?)
Hi! Both are fantastic speakers and perform beyond their price point. You could use either with your TV via the optical input and if you wanted to stream music, you could add a streaming device or use Bluetooth. Wifi has typically been better than Bluetooth for sound quality but both speakers use AptX codecs (the YU6's with Standard Aptx and the HD6's with upgraded AptX HD). If you have a compatible device, you could stream high-res Bluetooth signals to both.
@@janoskovacs7784 if you're connected them to a PC, No. AUX is fine with the Kanto Yu2 from looking at product listings. But I'd recommend getting a sound card to get the most out of your speakers :)
What kind of stand do you have the yu6 on? Im picking these speakers up, but I am looking for a wedge style stand for them instead of sitting them flat on the desk.
Just hooked up my yu4's today to a Uturn orbit turntable. Pretty decent bass as is, and sounds amazing. I may still vet a sub eventually but super pleased wirh the crispness these babies put out.
Yes, the YU2 is more of a computer desktop speaker with a USB and analog aux connection. They work quite well this way with their built-in DAC using your computer's USB output.
@@xhyo1 Yes, the USB DAC in the speakers would be better than coming analog out of your computer. The YU2 is also on sale right now www.audioadvice.com/kanto-yu2-powered-desktop-speakers and if you are using them at your desk, we highly recommend the stands www.audioadvice.com/kanto-s2-desktop-speaker-stands
The turntable is better than the speaker, if you are trying to stay with minimal components, that is an option, but you would be better off with a separate amp and better speakers to appreciate how good the EVO is.
@@AudioAdvice thank you! Now, I don’t want to spend more and I want less components, but some years later maybe I upgrade to separate amp and pre amp and a passive speaker pair
Is there a sound comparison clip? It's astonishing how scarce this is. Anyone looking for a set has done their hw on how they look, specs etc but want the damn sound comparison. And for some horrific reason when it's done they don't compare it to anything so we have nothing to go by. You have all 3 and didn't pin them against each other? Crazy.
The sound would be subject to the room, the recording equipment, the source (in this case, compressed streaming video from TH-cam) and finally, your listening gear (computer speakers? Headphones?). There is no way to accurately do this which is why you're finding that it isn't done. The only real way to compare equipment is to listen to them in the same room, in person.
I don't think anyone is looking for an accurate presentation (especially here since its all compress) but to see how they sound like to have something to go by. I've seen a few clips of speakers against each other and you do see a noticeable difference, even though its compress by TH-cam and all of that red tape you just listed. But because of that comparison, a viewer is more aware of what to expect. If I wanted to hear the actual thing ofc I'll be in the same room. But thanks for replying.

Yes, the YU6 would be the best, the YU4 and YU2 would be good for near field (close up like at a desk) listening. Thanks for watching!
is the yu4 sufficient for filling a standard living room space for casual listening/ambient background music or is that stretching its capabilities?
It should be, the only thing that might be lacking is deep bass, which you could fix later by adding a subwoofer. Thanks for watching
