Jan looks cool in his rugby shirt. In 2001 I saw him at LAX in a wheelchair in a near catatonic state. It was sad but at least he's not suffering anymore. The music will live forever.
I just mentioned I liked them & had seen a documentary on them & Dead Man's Curve. Jan was a super brite guy too. A shame. Dean continued singing & touring various groups.
@@jennifersman7990 I don't recall, possibly, they were aware of each other for certain. Bruce Johnson & Terry Melcher also released some surf type music. When Brian Wilson stopped touring with the Beachboys it was Bruce Johnson that filled in & still was last they performed. I don't like Bruce because I was so upset that my teenage crush Brian wasn't onstage when I saw them in concert about 1967. Silly girl!
I loved the 60s surfing songs! I surfed every day I could. I made my own surfboard and still have it today. My friend Bobby Farrell made surfboards and taught me how. I have one of his boards too.
@@jennifersman7990 Yes! You are correct! I've watched a TH-cam semi-documentary on both groups at different times & do vaguely recall 1 of them mentioning they'd done some work with the Beachboys, but don't recall the details. Bummer! Old age! 🙃
I saw these guys on tv... 1957s.they's was teenagers, those times, i born 1955s now one's its... still lived also i thoughts they's the beachs boy's, also they's was teenagers,
It's not, it was from one of the RARE color video tapes of the ''HULLABALOO'' SHOW that only a few still exists. The rest are on b&w kinescopes, because the erased them like fools.
Actually, the falsetto on this song was sung by P.F. Sloan and Dayton “Bones” Howe. Brian Wilson did sing on Surf City, though-doubling the lead with Jan.
Just an awesome band
The early 60s was classic in fashion and styling. Jan and Dean could walk around today in these outfits and still look cool.
I was always trying to dress like Jand D when I was a kid. Now all these years later my style is sort of Jan and Dean meets LL Bean. Works for me !
They would get their asses kicked wearing those wimpy clothes today.
Yes
I was a teenager when Jan & Dean and the Beach Boys were in vogue. Loved the California surfing sound and wanted to visit there because of it.
I have said that many times! Definitely a classic look. The late 1960’s and 1970’s looked like costumes, not that great of a look.
A colour clip of Jan & Dean. Bloody marvelous.
Looks like it was recorded on Color video tape at KTLA at the time.
@@1219Jeffrey I am not from the states. Is KTLA a Los Angeles tv station?
@@shanemcdowall It certainly is. Itself & NBC in Burbank were the only outlets offering programs in color in the mid sixties on a full time basis.

I ❤ Jan & Dean. Im 77 now & this was the first group singing surf music on the radio! Then The Beach Boys a short time later.
If I’m correct, J&D were good friends with The Beach Boys and even played on each other’s sessions

I also very much liked Jan & Dean & watched a documentary on Dead Man's Curve. Liked The Surfaris, Dick Dale & The Ventures also.

😎🎶👍
Thank you!
With Jan Wenner out, it might happen!
Absofucckinluteiffically!
Jan and Dean have Brian Wilson to thank, but Brian has a lot to thank them for as well!
JEAN AND DEAN FOREVER
Wonderful! Thank you for posting!
The Beach Boys brought me here, because this song is SURF MUSIC, also!
The Beach Boy's blow this recording out of the water with their own live concert version.
The "Clown Princes Of Rock +Roll". And I say that with love...
@sharonramone9178
Actually The Coasters are the Clown Princes of Rock & Roll.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I used to love Dennis the Menace as a kid.
The live version of the song on T.A.M.I. is wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than the recorded version.

I love you guys handsome honey horse crazy me gril Sally
Mopar was King and still is.
Song scary considering his car wreck.......
You should have kept the whole footage of them skating away, or attempting to.
What show? Is this colorized?

A neat slice of American music
in the mid 60's. In color like this it doesn't seem as old but its 60
years old in 2024.
This is from Jan & Dean’s appearance on the Dean Martin Show in 1965-it was shot in color and I think can be seen elsewhere on TH-cam.
They sound just like their records. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Who does the falsetto on Jan and Dean songs like on Sidewalk Surfing and here
Brian Wilson, He's also on SURF CITY as well.

@@Spooky1862 P.F. sang the falsetto, not sure why you think Bones Howe sang on it too, he was just the audio engineer.
Hello guys I was wondering if you still have died man cove sing
Put them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for crying out loud!
FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, THIS IS NOT A ROCK SONG; THEY NEVER RECORDED ONE ROCK SONG. THIS IS A "TEENY-BOPPER" POP SONG!🤔😬🙈🤨😫🥵
this guys were punks and punk wasn't even a thing still
Well shes gonna get a ticket now sooner or later but she cant keep her foot off the accelerator 👞
listen stereo mix th-cam.com/video/3L7N3-veous/w-d-xo.html
Why did he always carry the guitar
Possibly had a skateboard which they used in the act
It does kind of sound like Surf City
Beach boy Brien Wilson in the background.
I thought it was Phil (P.F.)Sloan of "the Fantastic Baggys"... 🤔
