I'm 72 years old, I guess I'm just so partial to those cars of the 50's, 60's, 70's. I don't need hands free driving, back up cameras, computer screens and al, the others things. Wish I still had the cars I owned then. Even my "unsafe" Corvair!

Don't miss all the maintenance that old cars require.
Nor do I want to take long road trips in one.
My Tesla is way more fun to drive considering how slow the old cars are compared to a Tesla.

Hello, are u serious? Don't you actually know Beach Boys history? Can't you hear a commercial when you hear it? YES : they'd take the advertisement any day of the week all week, all month and every year! This was even more true in 1963-65...
McDonalds, Ford, Intel, Apple, etc etc still advertises to this day ya know...they'll never let go. This "song" was simply an elaborate way to make an advertisement and i'd say they camouflaged it well. Repetition(distraction) is the key to your sweet little minds and pockets. After he barely managed to get permission from GM to even offer the GTO package, imagine the smile on John DeLorean's face when the car was so popular that it had a top 10 hit song written about it. :)

First time I actually hear the Beach Boys' cover of the song. Many people erronously think that the version by Ronnie & the Daytona is the BB's version. But the voices of the singers is REALLY different. And let's not forget about the music itself being REALLY different in both versions too.

I have a orange 68 GTO, it was the year before the Judge option so I installed a 72 Judge 455. I've been offered more money for my Ram Air heads than I bought the car for ($4500) in 1992... 1 month after my 17th B-Day. Still have the goat and it looks better than ever. I listened to my dads generation when they all would wish they never sold their classics.

The corvair sport spyder 1962 was a nice car the poor man’s Porsche side valve engine. If you drove it like a nut the rear engine could get you out of control. Ralph Nader killed it. Any car you drive like a goof will get you in trouble. It was a great little car. He killed it. The vw bug was much more dangerous. He never attacked it. I liked the bug. Again don’t drive a car beyond its abilities and you won’t get hurt

I had a 64, 4spd a 65, 389 3, 2s 4spd convertible, a 66 4 spd, and my first real crush, was with a girl named Alice, who used to cruise the Blvds back in the day, with hot 65 Canary Yellow Convertible in those short summer pants and short sleeve summer blouses they wore back in the late 60s. I wouldn't trade those times, and memories for anything they have now! And oh, the smell of a lobing cam, dual exhaust, and raw gas coming out of those pipes! ( The Chicks Were Hot, And Lobing Too!)

I’m a huge fan of the Beach Boys, but I was around when the original version of ‘Little GTO’ by Ronny and the Daytonas aired. When you’ve listened to theirs as many times as I have there’s just no substitute. I like the real deal. (Same with the good-looking O.E.M. chassis @0:27 No modifications necessary.) 🧨

He drove the GTO and she had a little blue Datsun 4 door; I had a green 10 speed bike lol. I'm short and I used to have to lean it against a curb, have the left pedal up, put my left foot on the pedal and push forward 🚲🤣😂🤣😂

I was born in Motown, grew up in that fine city and therefore got an excellent view of the birth and development of Detroit Iron.
In his monumental auto-industry treatise, On a Clear Day You Can See General Motors, John Z. Delorean told how Pontiac Engineers developed the "concept car" GTO. It was the first U.S. car specically designed, directly out of the showroom, to HAUL ASS!!
I never owned, drove or even rode in a GTO, but a buddy took me for a ride in another GM ass-hauler, his Olds 442. Without positraction that sumbitch could lay rubber 1/2 block!
