  • This is how to pack for an endless backpacking trip around the world. If you plan to travel indefinitely and don't have an end date to your travels, you might find it difficult to pack a backpack, or even find a backpack to use for this type of trip. But I have traveled this way many times and found the perfect travel backpack and the right things to pack and bring with you on your journey. Watch this video to find out what to pack, how to pack, how to pick out a backpack, and how to travel longer, happier, better.

    Consider getting an inflatable pillow as well and moisture wicking clothings if you'd travel in the tropics. Plus add some sunscreen, insect repellents, dry bags and arm sleeves, universal plug adapter and handy organizers if you don't want to carry daybag. Consider getting sleeping bag sleeves if you're a backpacker and stay at cheap motels in countries like Thailand and Vietnam. And never forget to bring fisrt aid kits, meds for headache, allergies, tummy aches, colds and cough. Bring rollable water packs, travel sleeping bags, travel utensils and extra TSA locks.
    Always use and bring waterproof boots or shoes too like the palladium pampa lite+, columbia or salomon. Always bring candies too like tic tacs for quick fresh breath.

    Ah yes, the towel,
    “…it has great practical value - you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you - daft as a bush, but very, very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.”

    Great tips! I also usually include a small first aid kit (band aids, alcohol wipes, gauze), a small repair kit (zip ties, duct tape, twine/rope/straps), and a headlamp (so I don't waste phone battery on light). If you're sticking to cities, maybe you don't need some of this (or can buy enroute) but I like more remote locations so tend to be a bit more self-reliant. Great video though! I'm subscribing!

    My old travel buddy is a hand crank emergency AM/FM/SW radio with regular white lamp, red emergency lamp and siren. I can charge the phone battery with it if I have to.
    Someone already mentioned duct tape/small 1st aid kit. Very good ideas too.
    I also carry twine and a pocket knife, like the good sailor I was.
    One advantage of being a middle aged man is that I don't care so much what others think about me anymore. Track suits are good travel clothing. I wear crocs too.
    Finally, I carry my black leather gloves.

    Consider getting anti theft backpack too like the xd design the one that has anti rfid or the osprey daypack. I have been using them in my travels in SE Asia and they're just amazing

    I would add a small first aid kit, water bottle and a shallow flat tupperware with cutlery (a spork will do but l like one proper set).
    I use a buff as eye mask and ear muffler, ear plugs inside it if need be. When not used the buff sits around my neck whilst l am sleeping and it can be pulled up if someone starts waving a torch around.

    Hey mate any idea of the general weight that the bag comes too with everything packed?

  • @Reliquary87
    @Reliquary87 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Question, was the total weight of all that? Good to know if I need to ditch something during my final pack due to weight restrictions for carry ons for Airplanes etc

    Great tips! Shouldn’t need more than that unless you’re camping.

    Great video👏👍! I have a Swissgear 31L backpack; and it works great. I am planning to resume my travels abroad when the pandemic subsidies🤞🤞; and I intend to use this backpack. Have you thought about purchasing some compressed towels? They are lightweight , biodegradable, and inexpensive. They can be purchased on Amazon👍. Again, great video.👍👏 God Bless.

    Get the Scrubba for washing clothes. Its awesome. Also get a paperwallet for light everyday card carry etc. Otherwise you're on point.

      Oh, and buy merino wool t-shirts (3 days wear), and its possible to get good looking hybrid shorts/swimshorts.

    This video was perfect! one question though!! Where do you put your DSLR?? is there any space in your bag to put the camera or do you had a separate small carrying case?

    • @AlexanderTravelbum
      @AlexanderTravelbum  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I made a video about that too, I am usually carrying it but I put it in a case in my day bag most of the time. I think I go over it in this video

    great vids. do you think a sleeping bag liner is needed for hostels? to use as a clean sheet and bug protection.

    • @AlexanderTravelbum
      @AlexanderTravelbum  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, it’s not needed. If you have one, could be nice, but most hostels will have clean sheets and bed bugs aren’t as common as you’d think. After staying in hundreds of hostels over 5 years, I got bed bug bites once
