    I went to Poland for a week on a whim because I had a week off work. The flight wasn’t cheap, from Toronto, but the week there was. I did all the free museums and ate the street food, because it was June. Nice weather. My hostel room was dirt cheap and it was private with my own washroom. Eastern Europe is so fabulous.

    I planned a two month trip across Europe. Im averaging about 2500 a month including hostels and transportation. I left most of my trip flexible but i did buy train tickets in advance! I found that the tours I really wanted to do or activities it is just best to book from the official website. You save anywhere from $50-$75 dollars

    @adriannaoki 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Great tips! I did Europe for 5 months from Sep '18 to Feb '19, and I spent on average €1000 per month.
    I did all of Europe, except Finland, the Baltics, Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. I managed to go cheap even in the UK and Scandinavia. So as much as possible don't limit yourselves to just the cheap countries!

    *in Spain you can eat and drink all you want for about 5 euros a day!*
    _Granada and Seville for example give you a free tapas when you buy a coffee or a beer or soda, you pay between 1,5 to 2 euros for everything._
    _A tapas is a meal that is not sweet. it can be a chicken leg with some potatoes , a tuna salad a sandwich etc_
    _not all cities have this tradition, and it is no logic that decides where it exists. i lived in Spain for two years and i never got why they have these traditions in only some places_
    _you never find that tradition on Costa del sol, only in the cities north of the coast._

    I am quite sure that 1000 USD per month is possible in case that one avoids all the Nordic countries, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, Switzerland and some of the capitals such as Rome, London and Paris. The Cheapest place in Europe that I know of is Ukraine. There is a price comparison site called Numbeo that do quite a good job with comparing cost of living in various areas around the world. Tipping is a very american thing, and is not as common in most places in Europe. A waiter's salary is not based on tipping and especially in the west the waiters usually have quite decent basic salaries.

    • @AlexanderTravelbum
      @AlexanderTravelbum  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you, it’s definitely possible but it’s not really easy and simple to do. If you take into account the average dorm hostel in a lot of Europe at around $15 a night, that’s almost half your money right there. Plus if you’re traveling a few countries each month, you have to add the transportation costs which can easily get into the hundreds for trains, and then eating 3 meals a day plus some drinks every now and then. Most people I know go to Europe and spend $1000 in 3 or 4 days

      Those are a lot of countries and far apart, a lot to see in 30 days. Are you sure you want to do the Eastern countries as well? Because of the distance, it will take more travel days and more money to get to Poland, Romania, and places over there from Paris, Rome, etc

      It could be. You should look online at your transportation option. See what Flixbus has to offer and then look at how much you will spend on transport first. Then you will know what you have left for budget hostels and cheap food. Sometimes Flixbus has deals to go to 5 countries or more

      Depends on what you expect and what you want to do... How many countries you want to visit in a month, but 3000 is a lot of money, expect to get short in money if you want to party in a super yacht in monaco or soemthing like that....

    • @vkdrk
      @vkdrk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1500 a month is definitely enough especially in winter. Europe is full of tourists in summer and prices go up like crazy. Try Central Europe. It's very convenient to get around. Countries like Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia (I am from there), Hungary, Austria (AT is expensive in summer but definitely cheaper in winter). Best way to get around Central Europe is by train/bus and it's much cheaper compared to France or the UK.
      Also, central European countries are very safe, actually safer than western Europe.
      If you want to visit 6 countries, you will be able to visit 6 or even more if you focus on that area. You can take a train from Prague to Berlin, or a bus/train from Vienna/Bratislava to Southern Europe. It's very easy to get around. Check out Flixbus...nice buses and actually very cheap. I think it's a German company but you can get around most of Europe with them. They are great for long distance travel if you are on a budget.
      Don't forget to check out European budget airlines (Easyjet, Ryanair, Whizz air etc). You can get return tickets from central Europe to Spain, Italy, Greece, UK and even Israel for 10 - 30€ and it only takes 2 - 3 hours to get to these destinations 🙂

    I’m 16 and living in Canada BC near Prince George. I have a girlfriend who’s 15 and lives in the UK. I want to go see her seeing as we met online, I’d rather go there then her come here for multiple reasons but the biggest one is that I’d never expect a father to let his daughter travel to another country just for a boy. Instead I’m going there to show both her and her family that I am completely committed to her. My only problem is that I haven’t been able to find how much a trip like that costs. My best guess is between 5,000 and 10,000 Canadian but I honestly don’t know. I’ve tried looking online as best I know how but there’s no sites that have been of any help whatsoever. If someone could reply and offer me a general number to make my goal it would be much appreciated.

I'm a broke student who's trying to save enough to go in this epic trip once I'm done highschool Yay!! But I realize that travelling is super expensive.. what would be a reasonable amount I'd need to save to do this trip comfortably? In USD. Thanks for your amazing help

    • @AlexanderTravelbum
      @AlexanderTravelbum  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So 6 weeks is about a month and a half, so it just depends if you’re going to be drinking and partying a lot, doing a lot of boat tours and things like that. Because those things can get you to thousands a month real fast. I traveled Europe on less than $1,000 a month but it was an extreme budget. You can do it like this but if you want to be comfortable, I’d say go over there with $2-5K. If you don’t want money to affect your decisions, then closer to the top of that. Hope this helps

      @@Oladavol I have met a lot young (20 - 35 years old) US citizens while travelling Europe myself. All I can say most of them are living in fantasies. If you expect to stay in hotels located in old towns and city centers, eat out 3 times a day in restaurants, take flight every week to visit other country when yes you probably get short... Short example of one of my trips: (1 month) bus transfer from Vilnius to Prague. Prague - 3days living in hostels. After Cycled through Czech Republic to Austria. (3days). Cyclyed through all Austria (Zalcburg(3days living in camping) - Zell am See (1 day camping), Innsbruck 2 days camping)> Further I cycled to Italy ( Bozen, Verona (2 days hostel), Bergamo (1 day hostel), Milan (1 day hostel). - Back to Bergamo (2days hostel) flight to Vilnius. All expences - 500eu. With 6k you can easily and very comfortable visit some 6-7 countries without any strong planning. With less comfort you can a lot more.

      @@Oladavol Depends on the country. But usually you can find camp sites near city. For example: VERONA. Of course while cycling you can do wild camping (stealthy and without fire) most of times outside of the city. Or if you are crazy enough you can try in the city center I personally while visiting Paris have slept in park Bois de Boulogne, but saw some crazy Polish guys who set up tent in park Champ de Mars. Try Couch surfing - my brother have tried it in Sardinia the local guy give him a room for a week. Eastern Europe is much cheaper for the most part. More adventure, less tourists. I love it. But if you haven’t been to Europe before and won’t go back soon, of course at some point in your life you must see Paris, London, Rome. But they are more expensive. After traveling a lot of Europe many many times, I would suggest any of these: countries - Italy, Spain, Turkey, Croatia, Portugal. Cities - Rome Italy, Madrid Spain, Lisbon Portugal, London, Berlin Germany, Prague, Amsterdam, Split Croatia. I have 2 videos about my favorite travel experiences and places I’ve found, I show a few things there. That will be an amazing experience, good luck
