    it's so awkward the way they're dancing, but it must have been so fun to be there. it's like dancing alone in your room, like nobody is judging you, just having a blast

      I loved to dance like that in the gothic clubs! In Germany we had strickt rules on the dancefloor though: Nobody was allowed to touch or shove anybody else while dancing...and do not look or stare into somebodies elses eyes. Very cool it got when they started playing some popular indi "trigger" songs, than all came to the dancefloor and danced the exact same dance, similar to a flashmob in these days now, it was so cool!!!! Love these memories!

      It’s not awkward it’s just this era of cringe culture makes people think everything is cringe, n that their too cool to do anything which actually is ironically cringey

      It’s only awkward if you make it awkward man lol. They’re all doing the same thing so the only one that would be awkward is the one not dancing and standing there thinking they look weird lol

      the way they’re dancing is weird its not cringe coming from a goth person its not because of “cringe culture” its just a different year nd nobody dances like that

    I was there that night though not in this video. The guy in blue was called Rick and the one in the black shirt with the blonde hair was Matthew. We were in a dodgy goth/punk band called Belle & Sebastian at the time (not the Scottish band of the same name). No idea where they are these days. I'm 55 now but this seems like yesterday. Was listening to 'Eighties' just this week! By the way, I'm neither fat nor bald.

      Dude, you GOTTA MOVE ASAP! Life’s too short to not go to gigs, shows and the occasional concert. Get out of that one horse town. Ya don’t gotta go to NYC or LA or Chicago. I’ve seen some killer shows in Des MOINE Iowa. Get out the tour dates of a band you want to see. Then go move to the burbs of a town that they go to. So Portland Or. go move to McMinnville Or. The cities a hassle during the day anyway. Go move to Escondido and go to San Diego shows. You’re like a surfer living in Nebraska. Feed your soul. Go where YOU ARE. I remember starting listening to "goth" music in early 86. The albums released during the 80s were mostly phenomenal. In my humble opinion, the best "goth" music was released during the very early eighties. Albums such as In The Flat Field, Theatre of Pain, Juju, Pornography, Prayers on Fire, etc had a strong influence on me.And yes folks use to dance like this even in the US. The goth/punk bars and clubs created spaces where you can connect with like minded people who had similar taste in music, fashion, and lifestyle. Was an exciting era to grow up in

    1984, I was living in a squat in Kings Cross London.
    We would head out to The Bat Cave in Soho or Gossips or the KitKat club in Westborne Grove.
    I would wear a black wedding dress & always had red lipstick & black back combed hair.
    They were the days of freedom of expression & individuality, music was amazing in clubs then and the gigs around London were epic.
    I saw The Banshees, The Damned, The Cult, The Ruts & many more.
    Went on to buy a house in London and have four children, my eldest son loves the music from the 80's and cannot quite believe what we used to get up to back then.
    I still blare out Spirit Walker in my car whilst driving around the country lanes of Suffolk England.

      For a short time between the mid/late 80's to early 90's, some people called goths death rockers. If people called goths in the late 90's ravers, we weren't happy. They had their own thing going on.

      @Dark_Harmony ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @kyfaydfsoab I'm not making up what I said. EVERYONE in the 90's, imitators or not, used the term Ravers for the ones that weren't totally Goth at that time. Maybe not where you're from, but where I'm from, YES, they DID. Doesn't matter what decade they originated from. Of course the originals would be a decade earlier.

    Goth is highly misunderstood, it’s more than just a look or a type of music… it’s a a way of life, a way of being. Most people fail to grasp this, because like most timesless music, it has gone underground. Where all really good music lives, that most people will never even discover or appreciate.

    • @sinspade2677
      @sinspade2677 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @kyfaydfsoab really… maybe that’s what it means for you. There are music scenes underground all over the world. Maybe you need to go explore, I’ve discovered new music everywhere I’ve traveled. Especially in Chicago where I live there’s a huge music element that most people never experience. The shit that plays on the radio is the crap the industry promotes to entertain the masses who are mostly clueless about good music.
