My friends could never picture the Hueys, but I sure could. I thought of the flute as VC running fast through the jungle and the bass and guitar as the choppers.
Just because the war was wrong, that doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate the devotion and bravery that our veterans of that war showed. They did what they had to do, just like anyone. Our soldiers weren’t murderers, but accidents did unfortunately happen. They tried to make the best out of a bad situation, and they were better men than you will ever know
@Apex Animal it was either be drafted and serve the country, or be wrongfully branded as cowards, traitors, and criminals. A lot of these men did not have a choice. Dodging the draft would have tarnished their reputation. They served their country with honor, and they deserve some respect. Its extremely scummy and shitty to blame these men who were put in a position to fail by corrupt leadership. They had a job to do, and so did the soldiers of North Vietnam. Blame Lyndon B. Johnson, not the brave soldiers. Besides, Vietnam-US relations are at an all time high now, and we have found mutual respect for the country we once considered our worst enemies. If Vietnam itself isn't mad at our soldiers, why are you?
+Ryan Parker Still loud and proud. :) It's sad, yet a little comical that you think your words mean a thing to someone over the internet. Or for that matter in person. You're both clearly small individuals, probably quite lonely. I pity both you and our generation. I'm proud of who I am, perhaps you should seek some help with self-improvement to get to a place where you can be proud of who you are without having to take out your insecurities on other people. Very cowardly from behind the protection of a screen.

CENTCOM considers locating this village paramount, stating it is an important enemy stronghold, used to replenish food, water, and other supplies."
