It's much faster just to do it with your ship and individually scan the planets because it cuts out all the time going to and from your freighter... I'm surprised that seasoned players don't realize this... 😮
if i am using the scanner why would i leave the freighter? i just warp using the freighter and then use the scanner. way way way faster than using the ship.
@@ShaighJosephson just to explain a little further, i usually know exactly what im looking for so i want to scan 20 or 30 systems in a row without landing on any planets or leaving my freighter at all. i check the planets just to see if there is one id actually like to land on. then if there is, i do, but generally most systems dont warrent any landing. ive seen it all already so ill only land for very specific unusual conditions.
thanks bro, just did this and learned UAG just now. So nice I wish I knew this looking for my planet. Added the oscilloscope on top and shrunk down a locker on the side for more cooling XD.
haha, thanks. it's actually almost the same exact steps as putting in the scanner room in this vid. i just used a shrunken border decal and did a universal adjacency glitch to the teleporter. check out beeblebum on youtube for more info on the UAG and shrinking objects that cant normally shrink.
Great technique, I think I put off looking up that UAG for long enough! But in this case ...do you really need that long corridor? I have a big hall right outside the bridge with all the fleet command stations and I just put my scanner and teleporter left and right next to the entrance, it's like three steps more ; )
thanks for watching. you can for sure put the scanner room right outside the door there. i didnt because i like going into a corridor from the bridge rather than directly into a new room.
@@drewcifer0 Oh, that's the first thing I did when I finally got an S Class freighter and realised I can delete everything that pre-exists in the building area, removing the darn corridor!
@@drewcifer0 Sorry to bother you again, I just tried this a hundred times and couldn't get it to work, it all seems to go fine until I copied the decal but when I want to glitch in the room I just end up placing the decal, what could I be doing wrong?

@@drewcifer0 No, also doesn't work on a planet base, just tried it again. i flipped the freighter decking so that the grating was facing the inside of the halway on all four sides. you can see some if how i flip and turn freighter decks in my freighter pyramid video. same methods, i just made a halway instead of a pyramid
I love that NMS' build mode allows for little magic tricks like this. May they never patch it.
Generally, they only patch stuff like this if it causes background issues you don't see.
So. Does anyone else wonder what the heck he used for walls?? Lol. Dammit drew you never cease to amaze
haha, it's the underside of the decking. i used the teleport cables to rotate them.
@@drewcifer0I'd love to see how you did this too

nice! UAG might be the best glitch in the game.
Shrinky dink everythings!
So build it next to the initial door...since you can't be bothered to run your character a certain distance...
yep, if you explore enough this optimization can be a nice quality of life improvement.
Oh damn this is grate all ways love these lil build hacks to make my bases unique
That's fabulous.
Awesome technique!

how do you get the Wall Art in your build menu?
you can get most of the posters from the anomaly base part seller thing or the quicksilver merchant, some are locked behind expeditions
