im not really sure why she didnt hit him with contempt or at least mute him... i was also really surprised by that but kinda not surprised cause in my years of watching her, i have never seen her hold someone in contempt. i have seen her send cops after a defendant and mute them when they dont shut up but never any contempt.

Judge DeSantis needs to stop letting idiots like this control her courtroom. She needs to learn how to say the word "contempt" and let idiots like this know that they will be held in contempt if they continue to cuss and ramble on in the courtroom.

This judge hands down plenty of harsh sentences and my guess is she wasn’t going to give him a personal bond anyway. So holding him in contempt is pointless. The dingus wasn’t leaving.
In some states if you don't provide ID and they can't confirm it you stay in jail until that happens.

This video epitomizes her biggest problem... Her tone is tough but she lets impropriety go on for far too long, wasting taxpayer money and losing control of her court. It seems to me that she thinks that having the last word will maintain her authority, when she never drops the hammer in defense of her own court.
It's funny because I wouldn't say her sentences are light as far as criminality goes, but I don't think I've ever seen her sentence contempt.

Wish Disanto would help her poor voicebox and have a mic so she didn't have to raise her voice so much, lots of inmates can't hear, and her raspy voice must be annoyer her, considering she's clearing the throat often.
she has a mic... its just a really crappy mic. in a recent video, she pulled the mic right up to her mouth cause no one could understand her. i know they are working on the issue cause it seems to only be her mic. one time they even tried switching out the mics but they have been having issues with that systerm ever since they got it.

Judge Disanto is a strict and very honest judge, big favorite of me. By the way, very beautiful woman to in my humble opinion.
That guy has anger control issues I think. This judge can be a little screechy and combative herself, I never liked her approach.

Weak judge. She lets the inmate run her court. The first time he keeps running his mouth, throw a contempt charge on him and take him back to his cell. Keep doing it until he complies. It's judges like DiSanto that make sure nothing ever changes.

In this video it was not a prosecutor who addressed Mr. Heard about his mumbling out loud on the record. It was another public defender. Defense attorneys can't help but try to protect people's civil rights, even when it's not their client.

I can't even watch this judge because she shows little respect for her own court. Its really dad she lets defendants cuss, yell, tell her off , and disrupt her court and people. Its sicking.
She’s showing herself to be less and less strict and more and more noise. That first defendant should have been given 30 days for contempt with the clear explanation that any further behavior issues would only extend his contempt, further delaying sorting out all the shit he was complaining about. Instead, she just let him walk all over her.
She can also just get him muted.

I work in a hospital. We EMPTY colostomy bags multiple times a day (it’s very easy and simple) and you don’t need change the actual bag every day, multiple times a day. This dude is full of more crap than her bag.

UPDATE: jail staff did have to cut off his thumbs to fingerprint him, since he consented to them doing that in the hearing

As the Judge was about to advise the defendant of his rights, one of the taller officers left, and an officer that appears to be 4 feet 'tall' takes his place. Unless this officer is very well trained and experienced, handling the defendant might not be the best assignment for the officer. The not-so-tall officer might be good at hundreds of duties, but the defendant was already described as a problem. Yikes!

Why is this judges courtroom so difficult to understand or hear? I watch a lot of the various courts, like Judge Simpson, Judge Boyd, etc. and other than the occasional mishap you can hear everything clearly. I can barely hear or understand the judge, not only on this video. Am I just having difficulty with her voice tone or is the audio in this courtroom sub par?

I think he’s in the right spot, he gone be a whole new person coming out sometimes jail can change somebody better recovery and all he needs that tough support he’ll get over that attitude sooner or later when he sit behind bars thinking about alot
