Good video for a pretty standard domestic flight. Just on the VA lounge there at OOL. I flew out a couple of months ago and sampled this lounge. It was a nice surprise(as was the old model of a VA A330 without engines there lol - a telling reminder of a time long gone). The layout is a little odd with the curves, but seems a little bigger than the QF lounge (which is directly left right at the exit of security and often gets crowded). When I was there, around lunchtime, VA was also very busy but I actually found a seat right in the same spot by the window so I chuckled when I saw). A basuc lounge, but nothing wring with it. VA has a very good schedule out of OOL compared to QF mainline (most of it is JQ) and that will mean more demand for that lounge. Still, it's far better than nothing (per the CNS example). I too like the extension for international flights there. It has changed the airport and gate setup a bit (a lot of renumbers) but it's quite nice. My flight, for example, was out of Gate 21 iirc, which actually used a jetbridge so was a surprise for OOL. Back in the day, QF used to have that end of the terminal more or less. Now VA does and that's a win for them imo.
Thank you! Yeah, I miss the old VA widebodys. Yeah you’re right, Qantas has wayyy less flights than VA. Yeah it’s annoying that they got rid of so many lounges after covid such as CNS as you said and DRW. Cool!
What do they do? They walk around with an EFTPOS machine charging for anything beyond water. They claim to be a premium airline - they're not. Walking through the cabin like a beggar on the streets of LA - LOL - they're pathetic. Jetstar passengers have access to more lounges than "premium" Virgin passengers do. Never again Virgin!
I have a theory 😂 every time I fly with Virgin Australia it’s always bumpy and a lot of turbulence… when I fly with qantas it’s so smooth and the landing is smooth as it gets 😊
@@Rusich20 yeh for sure virgin can’t compete with qantas and there baby sister Jetstar, they dominate the Australian aviation market.. I feel like we need more competition in Australia we can’t have Qantas making prices so expensive for everyone
@@Coolwow437also I feel like qantas just wants to rule all of the airlines and control everything going on so it can get its profit and make it so consumers don’t have any other choices if other airlines
Hey Hugo, could you check out some of those super cheap Vietjet Airfares to Ho Chi Minh? I am looking at flying them, but the lack of suitable reviews makes it very hard to decide whether to fly them. Love the reviews by the way.
Hi! Yeah, I have seen them and they are very tempting! I would like to and hopefully will check it out but likely not until later next year. I do know a bit about it though, so I can say you shouldn't expect a comfortable flight. The seats are super narrow, with no seatback entertainment, below-average legroom, and no inclusions. With that being said, for the price that they charge on sale, it's probably still worth it unless you're really tall but it wouldn't be all too pleasant. Hope that helps! Thank you!
Nice review, having flown VA a couple times in the last month (first time I'd flown them in 10 years!) I'd consider them a good airline who get the job done of getting you from point A to point B
@@Aviation763 also I'm sure being told what flights you should take is very annoying so I'm not saying you should do this lol, but next time you're in WA would you consider taking a flight with the brand new Nexus Airlines?
Flying from Melbourne to Nadi, Fiji on Virgin. Same aircraft as this (B737), will the 4 to 5-hour flight be fine do you think? Also what seats are your favourites for economy on a B737? Great video!
Awesome! Yeah it’ll be fine. It won’t be a luxury experience but I wouldn’t expect it to be bad unless you’re super tall. I wouldn’t say I have a favourite but I always like rows 6-8 and if they aren’t available then probably rows 20-27. Just beware of row 9 and 10 because there may not be a window. Thank you!
At around 9:00 mark, did the virgin Checkin lady just say to you... "You can't, off you go to the back"... upon asking for volunteers for the emergency row? Did you not find this rather rude.? Also, When you showed your boarding pass to the male flight attendant, his hands in his pockets, relaxed and not a care. Upon seeing this, I will not be flying VA anytime soon. Thankyou for the post and opening my eyes up. I hope VA Corporate see's this vid and fixes their attitute problem.
I noticed that too. With the exit row thing you need to be 15 or older. I am not sure if Hugo has had his birthday yet, but probably an assumption that he was not old enough for the exit row. I do think it could have been phrased better but I got the intent. The FA on boarding did seem quite relaxed indeed about checking the BP which I also found interesting. Not bad.. just different :)
Yeah, the staff weren’t great on this flight. Disappointing indeed since they have a great reputation for friendly crew. And yes, I’m not quite old enough for the emergency exit row.
I will say you really can’t exspect much from virgin after they came out of administration in November 2020 they became somewhere between a full service and a budget airline
Nice I’ve took the same route with Qantas! Here’s the story so I went to Melbourne airport at 5:30am I left home at 4:30am so then i check in and everything else with my sister and mom then we boarded the plane after that we took off served delicious meals like breakfast! Arrived in Gold Coast in the morning stayed there went to the beach at rainbow bay then after my auntie’s graduation we we!re gonna fly back to Melbourne with Virgin(Australia) our flight was canceled and it left without us so then we took Qantaslink to Sydney then we went to the train station underground then we took it to the last stop took a bus passing Canberra Alberry the city and arrived in Melbourne at southern cross station my mom left to get our car from the airport me and my sister took the train to Narre Warren station then we got off there our dad came to pick us up early in the morning went home mom came in the afternoon ate slept after so long watched tv ate lunch and dinner great service after all nice video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another good review, thanks. 9:12 How disappointing, couldn't be bothered to get his hands out his pockets or to stop leaning against the galley to greet a "guest" properly. Lazy! Is this his version of "Bring on wonderful"?. Fail!

The purple brothel lighting makes me laugh. We should have Singapore airlines flying here domestically and Virgin Blue (cough Australia), should join Jetstar as the budget airlines. Jetstar PAX have access to more lounges than Virgin do. They're a complete joke comparing themselves to Qantas. Bring on Singapore and reopen the lounges to compete with Qantas.... Virgin staff walk through the cabin begging with an EFTPOS machine charging hideous prices for crap food. Just book with Qantas - it's a completely different experience.
