Hey Dennis! This video was so well put together! - I loved hearing your cometary and seeing the views outside the window! Thank you for sharing my TH-cam channel, hopefully I get to have you on my flight again soon 😁
The flap on the forest seat is a tablet/phone holder. You can leave it folded up and rest your phone on it. Or flip it around when the tray table is fully deployed.
Having moved to Darwin from Adelaide 18 months ago, and given that most capital cities are 3.5 hours + I've chosen to fly exclusively with Virgin Business, despite no current direct service to Sydney , instead of Qantas, saving at least $1000 on each trip. Also, I find Virgin Cabin crew are less jaded and friendlier, treating me like I'm special. I also like the fact that the aisle is blocked off with a chain that stops economy class from using the front toilet - less disruptive and cleaner toilets from less use. Great review Dennis, hope to see you in my travels some day.
I flew to Bali last month on VA. I Flew Business class rtn. The food & service were faultless . The seats are basic but very comfortable. The pillow, blanket & amenities kit were an appreciated little extra . It's a great airline & the flight crew were absolutely fantastic. No complaints whatsoever.
Always great having a chat & seeing your smiling face during boarding and disembarking in ADL Dennis. I've been a long time subscriber and to now be apart of your physical journey and add to your flight experience is a real pleasure. Hope to see you again sometime soon.
Virgin business has really improved in the last few years. I prefer the onboard experience over qantas. Better food and staff. Lounges are better with qantas except in Adelaide. While the virgin business lounge is smaller it’s nicer, especially if you have a disability - staff much more helpful.
I'm actually quite amazed that commercial flights are allowed so close to Pine Gap. That installation is so secretive and getting close to it is near impossible.
Another great video Dennis, great work! It is a real shame you never got to do a Virgin 777-300ER review from Sydney to LA, honestly one of the great business class experiences. It is good you are starting to get out of the QANTAS domestic rut a bit and experience VA. I am platinum on both but really do appreciate the VA experience.
Yeah really wish i had experienced their 777 international service. Less than half my domestic flights are with Qantas these days - fully agnostic these days and will choose domestic flights based purely on cost and schedule.
The VA Syd -LAX was a great Business Class flight. It was my first ever international BC flight and remember it fondly. AND I did the flight return on points!
Always a good day when Dennis appears in the new videos list. I just flew domestic business with American Airlines a couple of weeks ago and the tray tables had that little flap as well, but I was also confused to what they're for. My seat neighbor's table flap was apparently very difficult to move because he was using it to prop up his book but mine wouldn't have held the menu upright without falling over. I'd also love to know what that's for 🤣
I watched your review on Arsiana a few months ago and it was very useful. Now this. You have earned a subscriber. Well done young man. Keep up the hard work.
I believe that flap on the tray table is to prop your phone up for entertainment, I think that's what virgin has said it is for, personally I've flown this seat a year ago and found it isn't stiff enough to hold a phone up anyway so seems pointless
I flew SYD-LA return (in economy sadly) on a Delta/Virgin codeshare a few years ago - outbound on Virgin and return on Delta. The Virgin flight was much better - much friendlier crew and just a better service all around. Sad they’re not doing it anymore.
Really like the route map graphic. One thing about the second sector the plane looked dirty in places (centre arm rest mini tray table thingy) and tired. Did that detract from the experience? Thanks as always.
Thanks for the views of the landscape - reminded me of my first ever international flight and the awe I felt about the continent as we travelled across it. The flight Townsville to Cairns is also great for reef and Coral Sea views too because the smaller plane flies lower. Thanks for your great reviews and letting us armchair travel till our own next travel opportunity.
I love Brie's channel, I'm subscribed to her's and American Airlines cabin crew member Jetting Julia, and they are the only flight attendant channels I watch
Jetting Julia is awesome 👌. I've followed her for years and she is such a positive and honest person who shares her "ups and downs" in a truthful way. Thanks for your recommendation. I am going to give Brieana's channel a "look and see". 7:19
Great video Mate! Really good and I enjoyed that one! Thanks for a great video review! I can’t wait to try Virgin Australia someday although maybe in their new 737 MAX 8! Australia seems like such a great place to visit and every video of yours or Paul Stewart’s I see just further wets my appetite for a visit… Thank and cheers 🥂 here’s to a great flight! 😊 Also I subscribed to Brie’s channel it’s pretty interesting 😊
Thanks Dennis for sharing. Curious. I have only flown Qantas BC international since covid. Just had to do a quick trip home to Brissy from Perth last week. 5k return so not cheap. Im sure they use to do 3 courses. Like soup, main, dessert. Going over no iPad or ife in back of seat. Breakies was some dried up bacon dish. Coming back back of seat ife and a curry dish for dinner and dessert on a tray. Made worse it was a 737 that was fully packed both ways. Cant help but feel Qantas are still cost cutting. Flying an inferior product for the price. Cabin crew were awesome as usual. But i cant think for the price i could have flown on one of the majors in BC from Singapore to Europe for the same price. Do you feel they still havent got back to pre covid times? But i got to treat my brother and sister in law to the Qantas Lounge in Brissy before their flight to Townsville. I had to laugh at them in the lounge. They just thought they were it and a bit lol They loved it.
What a wonderful surprise to see Brie on your vlog, I have been following her for quite a while now, just watched her Nice vlog about 30 mins before I watched yours!
Great review Dennis. I have always found Virgin Australia crew, both ground and flight, to be very friendly. One thing that does annoy me slightly is that you can only join Velovicy rewards if you have an Australian address, which I find strange as all the other airlines I fly with let anyone join rewards schemes. Enjoy all your videos
Great review as always Dennis. I know Qantas only switched recently to an A330 with lie-flat seat in Business to Denpasar. Do you think that this will be a competitive route for Virgin based on what Qantas have done? Perhaps if price dictates or loyalty to the brand it just might. Cheers.
I took this same flight starting at Sydney. Unfortunately it was the worst flight I ever had. My flight from Sydney to Melbourne was cancelled (I noticed this flight was cancelled 5 times a week before I left) leaving 20 minutes to change. and the flight to Denpasar was terrible, they ran out of all food, I only had some crisps to eat. Having left Sydney at 6am with no time at Melbourne to grab something due to bumping my flight, I arrived in Bali 10 hours later completely starving. I will note that the best flight I've ever taken was VA from Sydney to LA, so I'm hoping this was just a one off. Cheers for the video!
I have just flown VA business to ADL return in the last week for the Masters Games and I like their business class, their ADL lounge was good but the OOL lounge wasn't so great, it was packed. The onboard experience has really picked back up after Covid when it went downhill for a little while. We were driving down the street in ADL a few days ago and we passed your business. On my flight, that little flap on the tray table, people were using that to prop up their phones to watch. Not sure if that's it's real purpose.
I have watched quite a few of your videos now Dennis, and I am curious why you tap your ticket/boarding pass on the skin of the aircraft as you get on? Anyway, great reviews all the time. Thanks.
Yes to the larger bodied planes back with VA. Impressed with the review Dennis, I just less wary of doing a 5.5 hr flight in a 738 but in J! X😊 oh and seeing Pine Gap, amazing considering!
Had a trip from Sydney to Cairns this summer and boy was I disappointed with Virgin Australia. Granted it was economy, but the seats were really uncomfortable and I felt shoe horned in even worse than when I had to fly Spirit one time. Guess next time i will have to do business but to be honest they even look really dated. Thanks for the review. Excited to see your adventures!
I guess you don't have much choice on the 737s space wise for business class, in terms of fitting the newer business class seats. The no lounge access ex Melbourne is a bit of a yikes though. When compared to Qantas flying a330s and newer style business class seats even on the domestic routes, its a hard sell to consider virgin for me. Although the flight crews on virgin seem way more cheerful than Qantas. Hope virgin improves to challenge Qantas more, we need more competition! Great review again, thanks Dennis
Sadly it's not just Melbourne. None of Virgin's international flights have lounges although Adelaide, being so small, you can use the domestic lounge before just heading downstairs to go through customs.
Saw a Vietnam Airlines plane in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago, on the way home from a couple of weeks in Japan. I agree with you, the Vietnam Airlines livery is absolutely lovely. Went with Etihad with a change in Abu Dhabi, and Etihad was really good, though I didn't find it easy to get off to sleep of planes very well (probably just me though)
Profoundly beautiful and extensive…, beyond words…, I also love how in awe of it that so many Aussies are…. They’re as excited by it as we visitors are..
Hi Lisa, bank on there not being any. I can't remember seeing any on any of my Virgin domestic flights but then never needed them so didn't look to hard. Enjoy Bali.
Great review. As somebody who's distance themselves further from Qantarse than a QF board member, I usually fly Virgin domestically. Must try them on a flight to Bali. J class would have to be better than enduring a Jetstar Bali Bogan Bus.
I can not believe that was a cabin for an international business class flight, besides looking dirty and aged, it reminded me of flying in European air space which have the worst business class standards. If I am in business I want a flat bed and a separate entertainment screen to the laptop I am working on. I can only hope that the ticket was priced at budget level, even then it is embarrassing.
Seeing Pine Gap made me start humming the Midnight Oil song. Bet you wish the new seats were on the international flight. They look good. And a footrest it should always have had. Cheers.
Best guess is the tray table is like a table mat - somewhere for you to write an immigration card without the dappled non-slip surface of the rest of it. But that is a mere guess. How odd.
I’ve flown both qantas and virgin business MEL>CNS in recent times. To my surprise Virgin had a very engaging crew during pre-departure and mid-flight. Qantas on the other hand is quite mundane and dissapointing given you pay almost 2x the price.
I flew on the old Virgin A330 to Hong Kong from Sydney in business. It was a fabulous flight. Really a shame they have no wide bodies and also sad they can’t pay their staff what they’re worth anymore.
I flew six sectors in the old business class seats. They are uncomfortable and awful and the aircraft getting tired. Service was very basic but it was that or Qantas. I wouldn’t last the five or six hours to Bali. Good on you Dennis but it’s Garuda for me if I am ever wanting to go to Bali.
Sadly yes it is the same aircraft as their domestic short haul. Bali is relatively short haul from Australia with Qantas and Jetstar also using mainly 737/320 aircraft and only a few wide bodies.
I'm not likely to experience Business Class on any flight from Perth to SE Asia but might manage to pay for Air AsiaX's Premium Flatbed which is not called Business Class but is just as good with included 40kg luggage and meals.
Thanks Dennis. Curiosity forces me to ask: Why didn’t you fly direct from Adelaide to Denpasar?? I’m sure they resumed this service (post pandemic)ages ago
I had an event that evening so the flights via MEL got me there earlier - also managed to get a good deal on the business class via MEL whilst ADL was fully booked if i recall.
Wish I could have food that good on Virgin when I fly tomorrow. But I am stuck in the back seats where a 250ml can of Coke costs $4 and the food is even more expensive.
I have only flown VA Business on domestic, will definitely be a returning Velocity customer and hopefully do a flight international with them in business. I also follow Brieana Young channel, she is awesome and I really hope she will be on one of my flights one day so I can say hi😊

I agree on the point about the toilet. You’re dropping all that coin, you want a less frequented can!

Oh I love Bri! How great you were both on the same flight. I’m always looking out for her to be on one of my flights.
4:15 even without a lounge, Dennis has the magical ability to channel a free drink! 😂
Fantastic video as always Dennis, glad to see this notification!!

Imagine how many Gin & Tonics Dennis would of smashed at the 777 bar! I know I downed a few and had to put myself to bed before landing at LAX.

I can second that. Most passengers were Qantas regulars back then and would all comment on how much better it was compared to Qantas at the time.
New day, new Dennis video 🎉
Already a subscriber to Brie. Great to see you both in the same video! Another excellent one - thanks for sharing Dennis.
My two favorite Aussie TH-camrs! 👍👍
Great to see you again hope you are well - Kevin & Cyndy UK
VA was fantastic Internationally pre COVID. Hoping they bring those routes back.

Worth watching for the glimpse of Pine Gap alone, thanks Denis
Nice to see you back after a break. 👍
That thing that folds out is a tablet holder. These domestic seats look like American Airline Project Oasis seats.
Great video Dennis, look forward to more in the near future
Another excellent review, thanks Dennis.

HI Dennis Thank you very much for another great video .
Great review, are you going to try their Tokyo flight ?
Great to see you again. Last time I flew Virgin International, I was directed to trhe Virgin Lounge in thei Domestic side of the airport,
I have just flown VA business to ADL return in the last week for the Masters Games and I like their business class, their ADL lounge was good but the OOL lounge wasn't so great, it was packed. The onboard experience has really picked back up after Covid when it went downhill for a little while. We were driving down the street in ADL a few days ago and we passed your business.
On my flight, that little flap on the tray table, people were using that to prop up their phones to watch. Not sure if that's it's real purpose.
We had the building specially washed for your arrival in Adelaide :)
You're right about the Virgin lounge in OOL - very small and crowded.
I miss the days of wide bodies Australia to Bali across the board although qantas will soon Ex Sydney have the a330 again.
@7:51 Wow its easy to forget how pretty our country is, amazing views , they made me think how vast it would be down on the ground
Had a trip from Sydney to Cairns this summer and boy was I disappointed with Virgin Australia. Good to see you've become a regular Virgin Flyer! See you on the Lounge again soon!
Great video Dennis 😊
Great review Dennis
so nice that you met brieanna!! i follow you both. 😊
Must admit I enjoyVirgin Business class. Love your videos mate, was waiting for the first G and T 😂
As allways a great review from your trip. So happy you are back❤🇾🇪groetjes van Loes

Nice coverage
Never get tired of experiencing Aussie😍

I was starting to miss your uploads Dennis!
More to come!
Hey Dennis I’m flying to Bali in November with virgin boeing 737 800 do they have the usb charge port in enconomy class plz love ur videos
Hi Lisa, bank on there not being any. I can't remember seeing any on any of my Virgin domestic flights but then never needed them so didn't look to hard. Enjoy Bali.
Just to clarify- “Bubbles” have always been available on QF from first flight out to last flight in ! Water is standard on both carriers on the ground
Just to clarify, I flew 4 QF Domestic Business Class fights last week and was not offered any pre flight drinks of any kind.
@@SimonRidgway-bw5ut they don’t offer pre departure drinks any longer
Great video
The best part of the video is from 7:50 to 8:33. My God, just look at those views. 😍
I love the conspiracy music when you point out Pine Gap. 😂
Great review. As somebody who's distance themselves further from Qantarse than a QF board member, I usually fly Virgin domestically. Must try them on a flight to Bali. J class would have to be better than enduring a Jetstar Bali Bogan Bus.

It's even cheaper than jetstar. So yes, they are prices accordingly
How many companies that use 737’s have a flat bed?
Seeing Pine Gap made me start humming the Midnight Oil song. Bet you wish the new seats were on the international flight. They look good. And a footrest it should always have had. Cheers.
Bali, the Benidorm of Australia
It depends which part you go to. I’ve been in Canggu and Uluwatu and it was nothing like that, although Kuta and around there is a different matter!
Hi Dennis great review I also like the Vietnam Airlines livery.
Love your professional insight and observations…🙏🙏🙏🙏
Interesting Video Buddy❤✈️👍
Best guess is the tray table is like a table mat - somewhere for you to write an immigration card without the dappled non-slip surface of the rest of it. But that is a mere guess. How odd.
Good video Dennis. I don’t like VA videos because they make me question why I’m loyal to QF. 😬 No lounge at MEL is inexcusable, though.
Yes definitely time to give the other side a try mate :) Agree the lack of any lounge in MEL is very poor. Not sure what they are doing in SYD.
No lounge access at SYD T1 either.
@@DennisBunnikTravels they just need wide bodies! The QF J product in the A330 is soo much better, well the actual seat is.
@@sbor90 that's pretty poor. they should be paying Amex or one of the others for access.
Same. Absolutely loved it. Devastated they only fly 738s now. Just doesn’t feel right being in a sardine can for that long a flight even in J.
I was expecting a much better cabin for Business on an international flight. Looked the same as short haul?
Sadly yes it is the same aircraft as their domestic short haul. Bali is relatively short haul from Australia with Qantas and Jetstar also using mainly 737/320 aircraft and only a few wide bodies.
The sites above Australia were fantastic.
I'm not likely to experience Business Class on any flight from Perth to SE Asia but might manage to pay for Air AsiaX's Premium Flatbed which is not called Business Class but is just as good with included 40kg luggage and meals.
Dennis, do you think you will film on 4K some day :)? Watching this video Australia land would be more beautiful in 4K :)
Personally, Garuda is a far better offering with angled flat beds on their A330 operations out of MEL/SYD. For more or less the same price as Virgin.
definitely on my list to try
Really good review. Looking forward to your emirates review
Those older J tables need a good clean. Note to anyone - not all J cabins have the power outlets in the non MAX fleet.
good point - all aircraft I've flown recently need a good spring clean
Curious as to why you went to Melbourne instead of Perth to then go onto dempasar? Cost maybe?
It's was his company.I was supposed to get via Melbourne but the agency beat the listed price with a direct out of Adelaide.
Dennis, All the best from Poland
Air crew.. must be the happiest buggers on planet.... don’t know how put up with us tired/ grumpy over expecting lot😂🙏
Oh my goodness Bri is amazing did you love her
There maybe no Virgin lounge but you got free alcohol! Yay! Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Aww Brie was a sweet lady Dennis, I’ll have a look at her channel
Wish I could have food that good on Virgin when I fly tomorrow. But I am stuck in the back seats where a 250ml can of Coke costs $4 and the food is even more expensive.
I have only flown VA Business on domestic, will definitely be a returning Velocity customer and hopefully do a flight international with them in business.

Hi Dennis.
The longest I have flown with Virgin is Melbourne to Perth, on their 737.
Although , next month , I am testing myself with a Perth to Brisbane flight.
I am guessing in terms of distance, if a 737 can handle Perth to Brissie....it can handle Adelaide to Denpasar !🤣
Although I would imagine, there wouldn't be much in the fuel reserves after that kinda flight.😂
I have always found Virgin staff so happy and helpful, too, so much so, I prefer not to fly with the " opposition"!!!😂😂😂
It does, they have flights from ADL to DPS but not everyday of the week.
