I mostly work in business networks but get the occasional business owner's PC to deal with and absolutely love this kind of work once in awhile. I love ASUS motherboards. This machine is a little to nerf'd for my preferences. 2015-16 vintage and no SSD! otherwise a reasonable performer. They also have the M.2 slot buried in a bad way making it pretty much unusable. SMH.

That is a question I can not answer because Sorry I know nothing about what you have in the system now so how would I know if you can upgrade it or not you may already be maxed out? The best thing for you to do is find out the specifications of the motherboard you have then look for what you want and then if it matches what you need you have an upgrade. Good Luck
To the best of my knowledge these particular systems were only meant for two specific CPU’s and two specific Nvidia graphics cards. No modern GPU in 2022 would be compatible with this system as far as I know.
Hi i have to install a hard drive, not replace. Will there be any problems with this such as the cables? It is a hard drive from another pc so I don’t know if there are any cables I need to install it or can I use the cable from the old pc used for the hard drive?
Yes it is A 3.5 inch Recommended that you do not go over 2TB You can use a 2.5 with a Caddy if you wish to go SSD Recommended you use 250G minimum and that you do not go over 2TB If more memory is needed I recommend you use a USB self-powered external HDD up to 18T

Yes, need to clone first, or after removing and replacing, the new drive. But if you do it first, you might be able to use the optical drive SATA connector for the second drive.

I’m no expert, but I’m almost certain this system was only designed for two graphics cards, and two CPUs and I think the I7 will fit. However please make sure that the ram and the motherboard are compatible with that specific CPU. Even if it fits physically it might not be compatible with the components in the case itself.
I need to locate the power cord for the standard hdd do you know where i can locate one and what is the connector called. I keep finding the molex connector and it just wont fit. Thanks Steve
3070 is a beefy card with alot of watt power. The G20AJ is limited in power delivery due to it's design of laptop power and not using a ATX power supply. A 3070 recommendation would have to be a 550-650w power supply. Also with the older CPU / mobo it's most likely going to throttle in performance.
Heat and wattage alone will limit you from using that card on this machine sadly. It’s a beautiful machine for the time. Real shame they didn’t sell larger cases like this.

Really any blower style GPU will work. The processor isn't really worth it as the only upgrade will be the 6700K and its only a minimal upgrade. The ram I believe can be upgraded to at least 32 gb with 2 16gb sticks.
You can buy a converter that will allow you to put the SSD into the system buy a 3.5 to 2.5 SATA converter put the 2.5 into the 3.5 shell and install it same as you would a 3.5 HDD it is that simple

Why would it matter to you what graphics card this is? there are lots of different graphics cards sold with these systems it all depends on what you paid for when you bought the system.

That is just a little felt/cloth tape, it is there to prevent the components from shorting out should they touch anything below because there is very little space between it and the components below.
Hiya! I brought this off pc off a guy who upgraded the GPU to a 1070 and only gave me one power supply and it's cord (possibly the 250w) which other one do I need? + it's not getting signal to my monitor. Not the HDMI Cord
It used to overheat and shut off randomly but worked amazingly the first 2 months. I think the GPU gave up when I accidentally unplugged the PC while on awhile back

Take it to a qualified repair shop that is an easy task and if you can't do it you likely have no business inside a computer. Not trying to be mean but I find most of you should not turn a screw because you think someone on TH-cam is telling you the end-all problem on a video when there can be 1,000's of reasons for any error code or symptom and most of you destroy your electronics trying to fix stuff that is not broken.

If it fits you will be able to use it but you will need to partition it so you have 1 to 2T for OS I recommend 1T then the rest formatted as one partition for storage

I ran a bunch of troubleshooting and then brought up task manager and watch my cpu spike when I tried loading a game so I think my cpu is overloading are those hard to replace ?
use GPU-Z to see what is your GPU clock when it's running, and the temperature. Mine is just overclock by itself. It makes the pc overheating and reboot whenever I use oculus. I use MSI afterburner to reduce the clock and it stops rebooting. Replacing thermal paste for the video card will be my next step.
My PC is this model and suddendly it started making an strange noise. Like a knock. I don't know what it is and i cant check inside because i don't have the proper tools. What should i do?
may not be a bad idea to take it to a qualified shop, repairs can be cheaper if you fix a small problem early rather than weighting untell it just quits.
watch the video closely or you may damage something are you positive your system is the same system I am showing? if so follow it exactly if you can not get it to work do not force it, take it to someone that can do it preferably a qualified shop.
funny story about mine, if i do put in all the screws my graphic card will not recognize. If i remove a particular one, it will work fine. Never figured out origin of this werid situation, so it had been missing a screw for the last 6 years. 😅😅😅
it was likely installed improperly and when the screw was put in it pulled it down enough to cause a short to the frame, I would say leave well enough alone, if it is working now no need to mess with it.
I opened my asus g20 and removed the video card to air blow it and now my tower won’t turn on. I tried every trouble shooting method and it still won’t turn on, I can’t figure it out. It was working fine before.. any idea what would be causing this?
It is hard to say without being there to check it out and I do not know your ability to follow directions. Not that you did anything wrong it is possible you forgot to plug something in or knocked something loose like a ribbon cable to the drive or something all I can say is take it back apart and check everything and go slow to be positive everything is in its place all the way plugged in properly and completely seated in its location you can not be leaving out screws because you think they are not needed even if it only goes into plastic. I followed your instructions and did everything from scratch about 3 times and everything seems right... and about the screws , I got two of them lost, fallen into the cracks of the tower with no way of getting them back... could they be the cause? You need to clean the system more it is likely running hot but Yes I would recommend replacing the HDD with any HDD you like that has No Errors.

Does anyone happen to know if there is a hard drive storage size limit? Thinking of replacing my hard drive and putting in a 4 TB into mine.
If it fits you will be able to use it but you will need to partition it so you have 1 to 2T for OS I recommend 1T then the rest formatted as one partition for storage
So do you have any idea why my asus rog g20cb is shutting of randomly at random times I’ve tried pretty much everything in my capabilities to fix and troubleshoot it I don’t know why it won’t stay running and it’s only if I’m downloading multiple things or trying to play a game
without time in my shop to check it out, I cant say there are so meany things that can cause that.
I ran a bunch of troubleshooting and then brought up task manager and watch my cpu spike when I tried loading a game so I think my cpu is overloading are those hard to replace ?

Try plugging your pc into a different outlet
use GPU-Z to see what is your GPU clock when it's running, and the temperature. Mine is just overclock by itself. It makes the pc overheating and reboot whenever I use oculus. I use MSI afterburner to reduce the clock and it stops rebooting. Replacing thermal paste for the video card will be my next step.

may not be a bad idea to take it to a qualified shop, repairs can be cheaper if you fix a small problem early rather than weighting untell it just quits.

watch the video closely or you may damage something are you positive your system is the same system I am showing? if so follow it exactly if you can not get it to work do not force it, take it to someone that can do it preferably a qualified shop.

funny story about mine, if i do put in all the screws my graphic card will not recognize. If i remove a particular one, it will work fine. Never figured out origin of this werid situation, so it had been missing a screw for the last 6 years. 😅😅😅
it was likely installed improperly and when the screw was put in it pulled it down enough to cause a short to the frame, I would say leave well enough alone, if it is working now no need to mess with it.

I opened my asus g20 and removed the video card to air blow it and now my tower won’t turn on. I tried every trouble shooting method and it still won’t turn on, I can’t figure it out. It was working fine before.. any idea what would be causing this?
It is hard to say without being there to check it out and I do not know your ability to follow directions. Not that you did anything wrong it is possible you forgot to plug something in or knocked something loose like a ribbon cable to the drive or something all I can say is take it back apart and check everything and go slow to be positive everything is in its place all the way plugged in properly and completely seated in its location you can not be leaving out screws because you think they are not needed even if it only goes into plastic. Wow I appreciate the response! I’ve taken apart a fair share of towers before, but this one was a bit difficult. I followed your instructions and did everything from scratch about 3 times and everything seems right... and about the screws , I got two of them lost, fallen into the cracks of the tower with no way of getting them back... could they be the cause? Anyway, I appreciate your time for replying back to me
