Wow- great information. I have used carpet tape in the past for some of my crafting, but I had forgotten its usefulness after I ran out of what I had on hand. I have another project that it might work well with, so thanks for reminding me. I'm off to Amazon to buy more carpet tape.
Hi, when you’ve mounted watercolor paper to panels using this method, have you been able to pull the paper back up? You mentioned that you can pull fabric back up but not paper…
I've never used it directly with fabric, that is never to adhere a piece of unbacked fabric to another surface. Only fabric that has already been backed with felt to stabilize it, or with paper like watercolor paper. I don't know if it will yellow over time, and it's possible it would, since it't really meant to be between the floor and a heavy carpet.
@@JaneDunnewold I had the same question - my concern would be if the yellowing came *through* the watercolour paper and affected the final artwork. (If we are selling our work this would be a concern of mine). Do you have any older pieces of art that use this method that you can check?
You are just so clever. Definitely solves my large pieces on wooden cradles.
I love love love your lessons and appreciate your teaching and modeling techniques. Thank you.
I'm so glad!
Love watching your lessons!
Glad you like them!
This is great! I blew away a molskine journal last week using too much gel medium to cover it. I'll be getting some carpet tape for my next attempt
Nice. I never thought of it. Glad you shared.
Thanks for watching!

Wonderful!

It's a little dicier. The heavier the paper, the easier it will be to remove it from the panel, but thinner paper would definitely tear.
Wow. Shazam! Must get!
Is this tape acid free? Will it cause yellowing in the future?
