As a veteran of WW II I fought on the Eastern Front, no one has the right to ask such questions, especially to men who fought and survived too many battles and seeing both your own buddies and friends, many of which are villagers from my own village that I consider family (in a village, everyone is family), and they ask what happen? They ask about your losses and their families? THE MEDIA CAN GO TO HELL FOR ALL I CARE!

Sebastian Bermudez this really did happen which sucks. "You saw your men die, how do you feel?" How the fuck do you think he feels you dumb bitch?! Leave him alone!!
Sebastian Bermudez Me Gibson might be a basket case but the look on his face after the press actor asked the question about seeing his men die, how empty and sad his eyes looked spoke volumes about how truly great he is as an actor.

There is so much depth in just that single line it is as powerful as it is heartbreaking--The actual Joe describes the scene almost exactly as it is portrayed and he says he poor guy died two days later. I can recall a similar situation in WWI when American bombers were called in to help Allied soldiers break through the bocage in northern France. Bombs from several planes fell short and landed on American lines causing hundreds of casualties. An officer by the name of Charles Scheffel describes it in the 2009 documentary "World War II in HD".
This is the scene that I will always appreciate. When all the other reporters came to the war zone and saw Joe, there pool reporter. They saw the hell and ask Joe what happened. And Joe maybe thinking in his head, it’s too much and you probably wouldn’t understand. Powerful
Really shows you that we need to listen to reporters like Joe Galloway. Those who were with the soldiers deep in the thick of it. He alone did so much Honor and respect to those men in his book than all of those other ignorant reporters could dream of doing combined. Books like We Were Soldiers and Generation Kill is exactly the kind of news I look for. Not to some ignorant asswipes who only show up after the lead stops flying and then try to jerk themselves off for ratings over the corpses of those who died in the battlefield. Its absolutely disgusting that such people would exploit the horrors of war by demonizing the men who did the fighting and dying and then claim that it’s what the people want.
Seeing Mel cry with his back turned to the camera a few seconds after this scene always gets me. Idk what it is but as a veteran you can feel the hurt and sadness even though you never experienced what happened.
Respect to Joe for what he had to do and Col. Moore, good men and good soldiers. Never deployed in my time in the service, but a relative of mine has several times.
