As a skater from the mid-80's I'm completely blown away by the level of skill skaters have these days. Back when I skated it was a huge deal to land just one trick. I remember playing THPS2, and 3, much later, and thinking how incredible it would be if people could actually do trick string combos, and now it's being done. Not just being done, but being done with superb grace, and elegance. I couldn't even do a simple kickflip, lol. I was in a really weird, stuck-in-the-middle type spot with only really doing launch ramp. I never rode vert, and my street skills were, well, disgusting, lol. Thank you to all the skaters still doing it, and doing it well!
Dude, I just clicked off a new Battle at the Berrics 12 video because I got my notification from Jonny Giger, because his videos are just that damn good!
I’ve done a couple of those Haslam flips but only 180 out of the Casper. It’s the best feeling trick, like a front foot impossible but going the wrong way.
Hey Jonny, great video! I got your chino skate pants and I must say, that I enjoy riding with them sooo much! Perfect fit, high quality material and it looks so fresh!
Idk Johnny I've did a crook to darkslide on accident several times but never rolled it. I use to do crook to lipslides. If your back foot toes hang off and you go to whip into the lipslide you can get it to rotate.
this video has to be hands down the top most entertaining thing ive seen on YT you are awesome for bringing this to the table and its also hillarious wow haha great insight and break down of possibly impossible tricks!
A hack that makes 1/2 manuals, aka, one wheel manual, easier. Is to cut down your truck cushions, then use a stack of washers to take up the excess space. Doing this reduces the movement of the trucks without making movement harder. This was something myself, and other flatland freestylers in Sydney were doing through the 90's
Not quite - for a coconut wheelie you stand on the rail and wheels, here they stand on the grip tape as with a manual. But if someone can me that happen, it'smost likely a freestyler.
Jonny, do you think you could do a primo grind on a flat rail? It’s a special trick from the first Tony Hawk game. I always thought it could be possible, but never seen it done.
I've seen with My eyes a guy doing the one foot one wheel nose manual into a downhill, and he has his arms like the cristo redentor, i'm from rivera Uruguay. Wish a good skatelife for everyone
@4:45 I saw Lizard king do this years ago in a skate mag and the caption called the move a, "flyswatter." Again it was not the 540 shove version, only the version Jonny did here.
The one channel where I automatically hit the like button before starting the video. It allows me to check out if One day I incidentzlly forgot to view a Giger video 🙏
I used to do the full kickflip and a half into the Barisal kickflip out waaaay back in the day when the Casper flip was my trick but I haven’t even done a normal one in 15 years or so lol but after watching this im going to go out me strt seeing if this is even possible. If I can even get anywhere close im going to film it no send it your way lol I doubt I’ll be able to get anywhere close at my old age but for you im going to go give it my all. Wish me luck 🍀
Mr giger, I'm a crap skater, but I cannot help thinking if you got a board and put it into the position of a f/s crook, how much pressure would it take to flip the board into a darkslide?. With the kick flippy bit if you know what I mean, I think you've got it
Bis ich irgendwann mal gecheckt habe, das du nicht aus Amerika kommst sondern aus der Schweiz, hat es doch lange gedauert :D Dein englisch ohne deutschen Akzent ist krass. Weiter so! Macht Spaß deine Videos zu sehen.
I know how to kickflip, but I can't kickflip while I'm rolling, I don't really like doing kickflips, and I've trying tre flips and I really wanna learn it, but I didn't land one yet, what do u guys think?
in the late 80s/early 90s the darkslide was really considered one of these impossible tricks. I know it's nbd today, but that's still one of the coolest tricks ever imo.
Nice video! Its interesting to hear that from a person like you who actually landed part of those tricks already and thus knows what he is talking about. BTW, THPS3 was my one and only PC-Game addiction ;)
I think you can do #2 but you need to maintain lateral momentum until you complete the transtion. Don't get into a balanced direction slide but keep pressing against the ledge.
Cue herreinsch landing all of these tricks in his next video. Seriously though, I'd be willing to bet he could land the Casper Tre Flip on his favorite kicker, and probably even get a couple kicks in on an Endless Kickflip. All while some epic LoZ music plays.
This is for anyone: is it possible to ollie or do any flip trick out of a grind into another grind on the same rail/ledge? Simplest example maybe being 5050 to ollie to 5050. THPS was all about those long ridiculous grind combos for me. I'm sure its possible but sketchy af to do it from one ledge to another at a lower level, but mostly interested in if its possible to actually pop.
Before both of my arms got crippled I used to do handstand double hand flips and handstands 360 hand flops while rolling, my homie supposedly still has the footage.
teeth sweeper was actually done in like 1986 dude.. but the guy used his chin and chest, theres footy of it floating around buried deep in the internet, i remember seeing that in like 2004 or 2005 though
I didn’t see you on the list in a video about most influential skate moments which is sad because I feel like you have a lot of them but then again I think there’s so many it’s hard to pin down one. pretty much every time you do one of these specials skate history is made.

@@JonnyGiger Makes my teeth hurt even thinking about it, he didn't cushion it with his lips, just straight teeth. argh. It was in either Document (most likely) or Sidewalk magazine, both U.K mags and was shot on a spot called the police banks in Liverpool. I've had a look online, can't find it. I think I have the mag somewhere though so if I find it i'll be sure to scan it over to you as thanks for your awesome videos! All the best from a grey U.K :)
I think Levi loeffelberger (sp?) could possibly be the closest to do trick #3 as he did crook nollie frontside flip landed back on the same truck and then 180ed out
Again Danny Gonzalez did a 1 footed 1 wheeled nose manual 99 I think. That was in a TWS video I think should be an easy find on you tube it might of been in 411 aswell.
I’ve landed all of these. I just don’t have footage. Just gotta believe me 😎
Ok Todd Rogers.
Same, I lost my phone just as I went to upload, and now I have made a conscious decision never to skate again so unlucky people UNLUCKY.
I also can do that all..here, hold my beer 🍺
@@DasAlternativeEnde haha todd rogers shout out FTW
Yeah I remember seeing that at the park
I think Andy Anderson could get the one wheel one foot nose manual with a bit of practical. His balance is crazy
Look on youtube one foot one wheel nose manual
You'll see my friend doing it pretty easily
Alexander Rademaker can do all the Tricks
best on i've seen was Chris Haslam
No andy doesnt need practice
I agree 100%!
Pretty sure Bam has done the 540 hand shove. He did that type of trick a lot in FDR footages
This is what I was thinking, maybe CKY2k?
Pretty sure you're correct
@@dustinbrown8094 Maybe, but far too lazy to watch whole thing for the 99999999th time to find out lol :P
He does. I said the same comment and noticed you beat me to it lol
@@salladnothing2346 I feel you brother.
For the stationary handstand tre flip watch Don Brown's "Barge At Will"

Giger needs to be known everywhere! His love for his craft and knowledge he shares. Love it 👍
some north american footage would be dope. .. but why come the crappy US when you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world lol
Skate 4 and Jonnys BATB12 Part seem to be the 2 things I’ve waited the longest for in my entire life
I cannot wait to see more videos of Tony Hawk-themed videos by Jonny! :)
87th 🥳
Great stuff! At one point I thought that if we need to bend laws of physics, we should call to Chris Haslam. Glad he got the nod at the end 🙏🏼
He got a kickflip one foot nose manny in almost round 3 so I'd put money on him being able to pull off a one-foot nose manny
Dude, I just clicked off a new Battle at the Berrics 12 video because I got my notification from Jonny Giger, because his videos are just that damn good!
One foot, one wheel manual was done by Danny Gonzalez in the Globe Opinion video, I believe.
Danke Jonny, hast dir wirklich Mühe gegeben dass alles zu recherchieren, gerne ein Teil2 🤘👍👍🙏
Ich danke dir!
Adam Holmes has done many One Footed One Wheel nose manual variations.
Bam margera is the only one I've seen doing tailwhip(hand shove) 🤙🏼
I’ve done a couple of those Haslam flips but only 180 out of the Casper. It’s the best feeling trick, like a front foot impossible but going the wrong way.
What shoes do you use ? I’m looking for puffy dc’s but idk if they make them anymore so what shoes do you use ?
Now I want to replay Tony Hawk Underground! Very cool video!

JONNY! When the heck is your BATB match going down? I think you can win the whole thing easy dude, just don't hold back.
I'd like to see Jonny try Daisy's special manual called "Ahh yeahh!"
I think it's possible
Its a 1 foot COCONUT Wheelie at 5:20 its a freestyle trick. Awesome video as always giger!

1 foot 1 wheel nose manual...

i fu#%ing love the music in Jonny’s videos!
540 hand shove? I'm sure Ellis Frost has done this or at least he's definitely the guy to do it.
Big Hitter II seems very doable in vert, think on how weird is crail slide in street but not in vert
I think Mullen did the last trick in one of his "Round" movies but as a casper slide. I couod be wrong though.

6:14 im pretty sure this trick was done on a vert ramp i just cant remember who did it
that haslam clip is NUTSSSSSS
Try the varial heel to primo. I think you’d have that one faster than u think
That crook bigspin to crook will go insanely viral if someone ever pulls it off by breaking physics
Love your vids, I’m sorry the only thing I ever do is watch your vids like and comment. Love from Japan:)
I'm pretty positive you could land the Rusty Slide :)
That last trick seems super doable. I think I'll give it a go. No guarantees obv.
Do the varial heel in that would be some insane stuff
9:02 CLEAN
Didn't Danny Gonzalez do a one foot one wheel nose manual in TWS The Reason?
H Teeth Sweep looks like a Jason Park trick

I can also one-footed one-wheel nose manual whenever but a good luck tring to ollie into that.
Third one I think is possible. I've done nose crook shove-it axl grind.
Sometimes I forget how good Johnny is
The H teeth sweeper is real he had a sequence of it in Sidewalk UK skate magazine, H is Howard Cooke.
Bro I literally just thought I’d somebody did this video and I did a day after I couldn’t find it💥💥
Your pretty amazing & still very humble
Just got new giger. Cyclone board it is
The force grab could actually be done (Using magnets perhaps?).

What if you modify the teethsweeper to the chinsweep? grab the board chin to chest. release and ride.
The one foot one-wheel manual is probably plausible, just practically impossible. Maybe one day someone does it!

Bam has done the 540 tailwhip years ago
...and surely Griffin can do that casper-tre 💯
Chris Haslam did the gold medal trick MINUS the double flip in on dream tricks for berrics
ahhhh nice you mention it as well :)
