Watched this video twice, brought the part beforehand so I could do it all in one, £3.99 and 15 minutes later and my mum’s toilet is filling in rapid time. Top Scotsman!
Arwel Morris Jones screw fix I got mine from £4.65 I think it was. Can get it cheaper on amazon but screwfix had the best looking part and good quality
Great if you can do it yourself yes, but if you haven't got a clue if are all fingers and thumbs..... tradesmen still has to get to the job, find the issue and rectify. Try it: Start this job from scratch...start the clock and see how long it took you to identify the issue, locate correct part and install. You are definitely looking at least an hour plus cost if part. So £35 - £45.00 for a professional to do? If it's £80.00 then yes you are probably getting a bad deal, unless you live in the middle of nowhere....
This is what was up with my cistern - the split in the membrane seal was even in the exact same place. Perfectly explained and easy to follow video. Bought the part at a local shop and I was able to fit it in about 10mins. Cheers Handyman!
I know this video is 5 years old but have been struggling with a slow filling toilet for weeks that no one would come to look at. This video gave me the confidence and know how to repair it myself. Amazing!!
See this video is 7 years old but really helped me, slow filling cistern and all TH-cam videos were telling me to disconnect the water from under the cistern to clean a filter. Thought I’d try this first and bought 3x valves on Amazon for €5 and it fixed issue immediately! Amazing, thanks a million for making the video 👍🏻
2023 and your video is still being used!!! One of the clearest, well explained DIY videos I have ever seen. Found it a bit difficult to source the diaphragm as i suppose it's part of the trade's con to get you to buy a complete replacement, but got one at an independent plumbers merchant. Thanks man, it helped me to change the diaphragm.
Excellent video!! My toilet was filling non stop. So, shut off the water, removed that part, washer was perfect but a tiny crumb of limescale was preventing the valve from closing. Cleaned it up ,put it back together (Don't know how you did that and filmed at the same time!! Genius!!) and it's working perfectly now for free. This is the only video with this type of valve!!! 40 fools clicked the wrong thumb!
Brilliant. There is nothing better than solving what seems like a big problem and it doesn't cost anything but a bit of your time. Glad it helped. Thanks for the comment 👍
Thank you. Well explained and easy to follow. Took the split diaphragm washer to a plumbers merchant to get it replaced. Easy to refit. The cistern was taking over 15 minutes to refill, now takes about 40 seconds. 👍
Thanks so much - we had exactly the same problem with our cistern. Once I had watched your video I could order the correct part from our local screwfix, pick it up the same day and do the replacement. It was a 5 minute job because I knew what to do thanks to your clear instructions. Our problem was identical to the one you show - the old washer had split. With the new one fitted everything back to normal. please keep up the good work - it's much appreciated.
Thank you very much! This saved me a boring back and forth with my landlord - I've never tried fixing anything like this myself before and your video was incredibly easy to follow and useful!
Bloody oath! What a ripper video mate! Been searching for this for the last week, a video with perfect bloody explanations, showing the problem first at the start of the video which is exactly the issue I was having. I have a diglfferent system but struth mate, your close ups, different angles, diagnosing the problem and showing the repair was spot on! Bonus points for doing it one handed too legend! That is the perfect dunny repair tutorial mate! Bloody oath cobber!
Yeah, I needed a mirror to see to turn the water off and in the end had to enlist son to turn the screw while I held the mirror. All done in minutes though 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Googled 'cistern filling slowly' and the first result was this video. Clicked on it and it was the same setup as mine. Amazing!! £5.68 from screwix. Collected and fitted within 10 minutes. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!! Finally managed to fix the toilet which has been getting worse and worse the last six months. Feeling really chuffed that I both found the problem and the solution with your video. It was a bit fiddly getting those three stages together (partner finally managed that bit), but toilet now filling in seconds. And the rubber bit is still 2.50 on Amazon all these years later. 😊
Further to my comment 9 days ago and after getting no answer from local plumbers I had another go myself having already changed the Inlet Float Valve Diaphragm Washer as described in the video. The solution is simple but not mentioned in any video I've seen. There is circular piece on top of the valve stem with a depression in the centre. This is to let the air out of the unit. Whilst filling the system depress this with a small screwdriver and you will hear and see bubbles as air is released. Now having replaced the valve and let the air out it works just fine!
Thanks for this. I followed the steps in the video but the water was running constantly and flowing into the toilet. I tried your tip by pushing down the button at the top of the valve when the toilet was filling. This helped as the water now stops when refilled - but is still noisy/whistling when filling and takes about a minute to fill. How long do you keep button pressed down? Any suggestions on how to stop the excessive noise and reduce the fill time? Thanks.
I've followed the instructions and turned the water back on, but the water noe doesn't shut off and overflows down the toilet. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. 👍
Right, my solution was to remove the plastic arm completely. I noticed it clipped in so I put on the valve as instructed in the video but with the plastic arm removed. Then I clipped in the plastic arm afterwards. That seemed to work
Usually this means the fitting isn't seated properly. So just take it off make sure everything is lined up and put it back together again, it should work 👍 Can be easier with the arm removed as Lee said.
Thank you so much for this! Part took a couple of days from Amazon and took me ten minutes to fit this evening. Your video was so easy to follow and you explained everything really well. One fixed toilet and another string added to my DIY bow
Brilliant! It takes considerably longer to watch this video than to fix the washer, but watch it to the end - the tips, particularly on aligning the notch are crucial.
Thank you. I took mine apart and the entire rubber seal had worn through and completely come off the plastic bit. Fixing it like in your video took my toilet from taking over two hours to fill to taking less than 60 seconds. Love you x
Thank you so much for uploading this video! I am a single mum and was able to fix this problem after watching your video and seeing how simple some things are to fix. You have saved me some cash for sure and I was able to do it in 5 mins!
Thank you for this video, I had slow filling cistern with exact same fittings as you! Managed to get the fitting off after watching this (I didn't even know how to turn the water off before watching your video), Diaphragm was fine but gave it a clean and its turned out that the collar was on too tight, but all fixed now! Thank you for your brilliant video! You explain everything very clearly.
Dear Handyman, thank you so much for doing this video. It was good to see we had the same Cistern and the symptoms were the same. When I looked at the valve there was a split also. This was a relief. Thanks also for supplying a link to make sure we could get the correct part. Since replacing this part, flushing is enjoyable again. Much appreciated. Thank you.
Just waiting to see if the plumber/tiler will fix mine before he leaves. I've bought the complete replacement valve. If he says that he'll do it tomorrow, I'll follow your instructions and try to do it myself after he goes in 30 minutes time. I need a toilet between now & tomorrow!!! I've got very bad hands problem, but I'll give it my best shot. Whatever happens, many thanks from an ex-Glaswegian living in Irvine! Subbed.
@@handymancraftglasgow Hi Handyman Craft Glasgow, tx for your message. Good news & bad news: Bad news - some of the toilet and cistern fittings AND the connecting bolts were so deteriorated they had to be replaced. One or two literally snapped when pressure was applied. Good news: the plumber stayed to do it, saying it was a 5 minute job. Oops - he had to go and buy the necessary replacement parts to give me a toilet. Charged £20. I was delighted! Tx again for your video.
Thank you, handyman. The exact problem here now fixed insitu. I thought it was air in supply pipework causing the hammer, not a split in the siamp filler valve rubber washer. Much appreciated and thankful of finding your (rather old now) video. Cheers.
Had this exact problem for weeks and my housing hasn't done anything to fix it for me like they should. I'm off to B&Q tomorrow to fix it myself now that I know how. thank you!!!!
Thank you, you are an absolute legend. I fixed the jax in about 5 minutes after watching this video and it only cost me €3.50 ! I had looked in the cistern before but I had no idea where to begin on seeing the complex looking inlet value mechanism. Thanks again for an excellent video.
What's the white part with the arm called please? The part the valve goes into? The valves on both our toilets were damaged. One valve switch solved the issue but with the other there's still a hiss for a while after filling up. I tried switching between the 2 toilets and it messed up on both, even with multiple valve changes.
Exactly the issue that started with ours today! The valve you suggested should arrive tomorrow and I’m confident we can fix it. Thanks for the video, saved us a possibly expensive plumber call out! :)
This is brilliant! The first video I found has the exact same cistern and internals as mine. The problem was exactly the same, so I went to Screwfix and showed them the part but the girl on the till said they did not stock it. Good job I wrote the specification as shown on a previous post as she then searched on her database and found it. Cost was actually around £4.50. Easy fix which has also stopped the water hammer in the pipes.
You, sir, are a diamond :) I went down the Screwfix route too, and found it a breeze following your video. The hardest part for me was turning off the water, as the bathroom fitter had directed the screw head towards the back of the toilet pan, making it tricky to get a screwdriver in there! After that, it took about two minutes to change the washer, even for a hamfisted DIYer like me - so if you're worried about how difficult this can be.....don't be!
Managed to fix mine aswell for €3 from amazon. The white twisting seal was hard to remove, very stuck, but managed to get it eventually with some force. Then just replace the black rubber seal, pop it back on, job done. Thanks very much
Thank you so much!! For making this video. With your help, I was able to repair my toilet for just £2.67 (including delivery from Amazon). I am your biggest fan!
Thanks a million. I'm an avid DIY (Destroy It Yourself) enthusiast but found your video straight forward and easy to follow, saving me a small fortune in a plumbers call out charge for a 5 minute job.
Yes! I know nothing about plumbing. The part was a bit more expensive from Screwfix - £4.70 - but much quicker to get. From Googling the problem, watching your clear video, ordering, popping to Screwfix and changing the washer I had the job done in an hour, from Google to flush! Really appreciate your help :)
This video helped me repair my slow to fill toilet . I couldn't get a plumber to come out because of covid 19 and then found this video and it helped a novice like me to sort the problem out . Very accurate and precise step by step instructions . Thanks so much
Great stuff. I'd figured out where the issue was (on the fill valve), couldn't see any obvious debris and every time I put it together again it would flush once normally then same hissing again!! Saw this video, same parts and helped me identify the tiniest of tears in the fill valve diaphragm, fixed within minutes after that. Thankyou
Very good How To......simple, clear and very helpful....well done! A little PS to this; often, slackening that nut at 0.53 will slghtly reposition the duff seal to all max flow. Useful until you manage to get a new seal.
Really good video quality and clarity of information...just wondering why with the leak from the washer the flow of water is slow EVEN though the water coming out from the broken water falls INSIDE of the cistern?? Thanks for helping so many people!
The hole in the washer does cause a strange fault. I would expect more water to be gushing out of the valve but it just makes the cistern fill very slowly. Maybe someone else can explain because I can't, it hurts my brain thinking about it 🤪. Thanks for the kind comment 👍
I wondered that! I've just taken it as one of those things where if it works it works! Mine did a treat and I'm so glad I didn't pay my British Gas 'cover' the £60 flat fee to sort it out. I've just taken a big family pay hit and need to save wherever possible.
Perfect for the issue I had. Same model / Same issue fixed for a couple of quid - thanks for taking the time to record this video, I would have been stuck without it.
Brilliant video, been suffering from a slow filling cistern for over 6 years, and after taking valve apart, the rubber seal was split exactly as you predicted..!! Thanks, the family are forever in your debt lol 👍😃
Thank you so much. Exactly same fitting and problem - split in the diaphragm washer. No way I would have been able to fix it without your excellent video. Thanks again.
Hi I needed to see your vid this morning as I have the same issue with our full valve. Can you tell me the make of the valve so I can track down the manufacture so I can purchase the diaphragm as can identify it on my unit please? Mike
Good video, now I know why my cistern is slow filling. I see you also have a bidet spray. I;m looking to fit one of these. Hard to dom and keep UK compliant. I'm fitting a couple of shower single check valves (ie same asma double check valve). Any comment please?
Thanks so much for your helpful video. It gave me the confidence to do the job. However, because my Twyfords Moda cistern is very slim I found that I needed to modify the process a little. There was insufficient room to relocate the lever fork in its slot before re-seating the diaphragm assembly and tightening the large knurled nut. So I first removed the lever arm from the diaphragm assembly before replacing the diaphragm itself. The next step was to re-seat the diaphragm assembly and tighten the knurled nut. Only then did I relocate the lever fork in its slot and finally press the other end of the lever arm back into the two securing slots on the rear of the diaphragm assembly. I hope these additional comments will help anyone who has a similarly small cistern.
Great video! Cistern now fills in seconds! Thank you! However, new problem as a result, the cistern won't stop filling and overflows into toilet bowl. Can anyone help please? Unit is exactly the same as the one in the video.
Thank you so much for this video. I've just moved into a new flat and money is tight. Was weighing up the least expensive way to do this and I found this video. I can do it myself now for the cost of the part and a flat head screwdriver.
Thanks - Great video- worked out it was a washer in this area due to water spraying out but great to see steps to remove and correctly re-install new one.
Great video, thank you. I'm having trouble unscrewing the big white valve that houses the washer. In your video you were able to unscrew by hand but mine seems completely jammed. Is it safe to use a wrench to open it?
Usually its fine. I would make sure I have access to a new valve if required - that is, if it breaks. So check your local screwfix or similar and make sure they have the valves in stock. After that put a bit of pressure on it. You want to try and support the valve as much as possible to try and keep the body of the valve stable so the plastic is not twisting, the only part you want to be moving is the nut you are undoing. It should come loose no problem.
Great video - unfortunately it hasn’t worked for me. Toilet was taking about 10 minutes to refill. Got a new washer and followed the steps including lining up both notches (inside the washer & the connection to the valve - but when I switch the water back on it runs constantly and loudly - so worse than before! Have had to keep the water turned off. Do you have any suggestions to resolve? Thanks.
@@shaun9407 I tried the tip from Ron (comments - about 2 months ago) to press down on the circle on top of the inlet valve with a screwdriver to let air out when refilling. After a few tries this resulted in the refill stopping after about a minute - but still noisy/whistling during refill, so not a complete fix.
@@jm450 I've discovered that the white plastic arm was lodged in too tight, and therefore wouldn't lift with the pressure of the float. I emptied the water and refitted everything so that the arm/float lifts smoothly. 👍
Most of the problems come down to the notch not located properly. Sometimes just taking it apart again and really taking time to make sure its all lined up can really help.
Fixed my problem! Thanks for the simple steps, worked perfectly. I dont have the valve at the side to turn off the mains. Have a water pump and turned that off and closed the valves at the water pump. Turned the mains off too just in case!!
Yeah I got the same. I think as long as the shape looks like the same try to order it or screwfix got these for £5. I've seen on ebay for 2-3£ . To save a bit time take it apart give a bit clean and put ot back and thighten is a bit more. It works fine to me now but obviously I have to change it because the rubber looked naked
Most toilets I have come across have the Siamp inlet valve so will use the same washers. There are different ones but if your valve looks similar to this one it should be fine.
Thank you! First suggestion on Google and that's exactly turns out to be the problem after I swapped it with one from the upstairs loo to check. Now got a replacement coming weds for £2.45.
Many thanks. I'd had the valve off but was looking for a blockage, never thought about the diaphragm! Bought 2 online, £4.20 inc postage. Job done - thanks again.
Fantastic and fixed thanks! 🙏🏻 👌👌 but £5.99 in screwfix btw. Very happy Mrs lol. It was taking an age to fill through the leak. There’s still a drip through the elbow that comes out? But nothing close to before.
Fantastic video, very helpful & easy to follow. Changed the diaphragm washer easily enough, married up all the notches & tightened everything back up. But now, instead of the cistern filling to the correct level, it permanently overfills & flows into the toilet bowl. Any suggestions as to where I've gone wrong?
Thanks for the video. £3.49 for a replacement diaphragm, 10 minutes work and we now have a cistern that fills in 2 minutes rather than 20! Brilliant :D
My Cistern Inlet Float Valve Diaphragm Washer was very slow filling and as suggested I have replaced the Siamp Cistern Inlet Float Valve Diaphragm Washer which was split exactly as you described. Having checked and rechecked a number of times that I have reassembled it correctly I am left with a cistern valve that will not turn off when the float rises and eventually the water overflows down the flush unit. I have been told that that lifting the float on it's own will not necessarily stop the water flow because it is worked by water pressure and and I need to let the water rise to turn off the flow. This doesn't work either! The only way I have found to stop the flow is to press the small round part on top of the unit with a screw driver. This fizzes a bit and seems to let out air and water and will stop the water flow until it is flushed when I have to press it again. Has anyone a solution to this problem other than completely replacing the unit which will be difficult in my case as I have a fully enclosed back to wall pan which I am loathe to remove myself. Has anyone out there had experience of this? Is there another part I need, my plumbing supplier didn't seem to know?
Couple of things to try. This can be caused by the diaphragm not being seated properly. If you have checked it again - make sure it is still in tact. Also make sure you have the correct diaphragm for your inlet valve. There are a few different makes, the one in the video as you know is Siamp - assess if yours is the same.
Great - couldn't figure out what was wrong with my valve so watched the previous video on replacing the whole valve - saw this follow-on video, watched it, thought 'that fitting looks familiar', checked the diaphragm and saw a little split just like in the video, got the siamp diaphragm valve replacement from screwfix (ridiculous price at £4.69 but you pay for the convenience of just picking it up within an hour), fitted it and all fixed.
I repaired the slow fill issue by replacing the diaphragm washer, so thanks for that 🙌🏽 but now the toilet won't 'full flush', it only half flushes when you press the big button. Have I done something when I replaced the washer?
People like you give people like me the confidence to try repairs like this ourselves. Thank you for posting this video.
Glad it helped you. Thanks 👍

What's the white part with the arm called please? The part the valve goes into?
The valves on both our toilets were damaged. One valve switch solved the issue but with the other there's still a hiss for a while after filling up. I tried switching between the 2 toilets and it messed up on both, even with multiple valve changes.
It cost me £5 for the washer from my local Screwfix but I reckon I’ve saved at least £50 for a plumber. Thank you so much! 🙏
Brilliant. Glad it helped 👍
This video was bang on. My cistern is now fixed for the princely sum of £ 3.71 (inc VAT). As you would say - "Thats us".
Thanks so much, it's a little fiddly but the detailed video was simple to follow and saves a plumber call.
Thanks. Great to know the video has come in useful.
Managed to fix mine aswell for €3 from amazon.
The white twisting seal was hard to remove, very stuck, but managed to get it eventually with some force. Then just replace the black rubber seal, pop it back on, job done. Thanks very much
Brilliant 👍
Thanks so much for this, brother. Instead of spending £50 at Screwfix, I fixed this with a £3 valve. Stirling work.
Glad it helped 👍
Thank you! I've been able to fix my toilet for £2.60 thanks to your video. Absolutely made up.
Brilliant, glad it helped 👍
Thank you so much!! For making this video. With your help, I was able to repair my toilet for just £2.67 (including delivery from Amazon). I am your biggest fan!
Thank you for the comment Jennifer. Glad it helped you 👍
Thanks a million. I'm an avid DIY (Destroy It Yourself) enthusiast but found your video straight forward and easy to follow, saving me a small fortune in a plumbers call out charge for a 5 minute job.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for the comment.
🤣 thanks for making me laugh with the acronym ... just reading comments after fixing this issue myself.
That must be some kind of record 😊👍
This video helped me repair my slow to fill toilet . I couldn't get a plumber to come out because of covid 19 and then found this video and it helped a novice like me to sort the problem out . Very accurate and precise step by step instructions . Thanks so much
Brilliant. Glad it helped you. Thanks for the comment 👍
Just flew into Scotland, place we’re renting has this set up and EXACTLY the same issue. Thank you.
thanks mate worked great, but now its running constantly any tips on how to stop this ? exact same system as in your video cheers
Sounds to me like the notch isn't lined up properly. That's the trickiest part. If it's out a little bit it will let the water flow.
Thankyou
Brilliant. It's amazing how something so small can be such a pain in the ....😁👍
Very good How To......simple, clear and very helpful....well done! A little PS to this; often, slackening that nut at 0.53 will slghtly reposition the duff seal to all max flow. Useful until you manage to get a new seal.
Great tip, thanks for that 👍
This fixed my problem of slow filling cistern completely, easy to follow and so helpful for a total novice. Thanks so much.
Brilliant. Glad it helped you 👍
Simple, easy to follow video.
Saved me over £100 on a plumber, just £4.45 from Screwfix & took less than a minute to fit... Perfect!! 👍
Glad it helped 👍
Glad it helped you 👍
Brilliant video, been suffering from a slow filling cistern for over 6 years, and after taking valve apart, the rubber seal was split exactly as you predicted..!! Thanks, the family are forever in your debt lol 👍😃
Wow. That's a long time with a slow fill. Enjoy your fast filling toilet! Thanks for the comment 👍
Well can't believe the last one only lasted 3 years or so, I am back again for a refresher on how to do it, thanks again.
That's not long. At least you know how to change them 👍
Thank you fellow Scot! I ordered the part from your link and fixed my slow loo today. Super easy. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant. Glad it helped you 👍
Thank you so much. Exactly same fitting and problem - split in the diaphragm washer. No way I would have been able to fix it without your excellent video. Thanks again.
Thanks for the comment. Glad it helped 👍
Brilliant. A step by step guide that I can follow and understand easily. Thank you. Is the screwdriver a star headed one? Pity you don't do call outs.
Flat head screw driver. Glad you found it useful 👍
@@handymancraftglasgow Thanks for the reply. I take it you are a plumber by trade
Thank you so much, it seems we had the same issue. Watched so many videos and searched so much information but no success. You a savior mister 🤩
Thank you. So glad it helped you 👍
Great video and this helped me fix mine. The washer now costs £5.50...at least down south! But way cheaper than a plumber's call out. Thanks again.
Glad it helped 👍
Thanks for taking the time to write this comment. It will be very helpful to a lot of people 👍
Had a slow filling cistern since I moved in. Saw this video and had a look at mine - split washer! Ordered a new one, hopefully that’ll solve it 🤞🏼
Brilliant. Hope it went well 👍
Great video! Cistern now fills in seconds! Thank you!
However, new problem as a result, the cistern won't stop filling and overflows into toilet bowl. Can anyone help please?
Unit is exactly the same as the one in the video.
Not seated properly - usually the cause. Can be a real pain.
After many hours of scratching my head this helped me solve the problem. Thank you.
Brilliant. Glad it helped you 👍
Thank you so much for this video. I've just moved into a new flat and money is tight. Was weighing up the least expensive way to do this and I found this video. I can do it myself now for the cost of the part and a flat head screwdriver.
Brilliant. Glad it helped 👍
Thanks - Great video- worked out it was a washer in this area due to water spraying out but great to see steps to remove and correctly re-install new one.
Great. Glad it was helpful 👍
Thanks.
I'm in the same position as you. Please can anyone help?
@@shaun9407 I tried the tip from Ron (comments - about 2 months ago) to press down on the circle on top of the inlet valve with a screwdriver to let air out when refilling. After a few tries this resulted in the refill stopping after about a minute - but still noisy/whistling during refill, so not a complete fix.
@@jm450 I've discovered that the white plastic arm was lodged in too tight, and therefore wouldn't lift with the pressure of the float. I emptied the water and refitted everything so that the arm/float lifts smoothly. 👍
@@shaun9407 the plastic arm on mine is fitted ok, so must be another issue. Thanks.
Better safe than sorry. Glad it helped 👍
Excellent video! Where exactly does the water discharge into the cistern?
From the flush mechanism 👍
Cheers buddy this is exactly what our toilet is doing. Just ordered two of them ready for collection tomorrow.
Brilliant. Hope it all goes well 👍
Great video. I have a Very slow refill. I hope that just changing the diaphragm will fix it just like yours. Thanks.
I hope so. Hope it helps you out.
I think I have the same problem with my toilet. Is the seal pretty universal for most toilets?
Yeah I got the same. I think as long as the shape looks like the same try to order it or screwfix got these for £5. I've seen on ebay for 2-3£ . To save a bit time take it apart give a bit clean and put ot back and thighten is a bit more. It works fine to me now but obviously I have to change it because the rubber looked naked
Most toilets I have come across have the Siamp inlet valve so will use the same washers. There are different ones but if your valve looks similar to this one it should be fine.
Thank you for this video. I first used it about 2 years ago, had to use it again this weekend. Saved me a pretty penny. Cheers.
Brilliant 👍
Thank you! First suggestion on Google and that's exactly turns out to be the problem after I swapped it with one from the upstairs loo to check. Now got a replacement coming weds for £2.45.
Brilliant, glad it helped 👍
Many thanks. I'd had the valve off but was looking for a blockage, never thought about the diaphragm! Bought 2 online, £4.20 inc postage. Job done - thanks again.
Brilliant. Glad it helped 👍
Fantastic and fixed thanks! 🙏🏻 👌👌 but £5.99 in screwfix btw. Very happy Mrs lol. It was taking an age to fill through the leak. There’s still a drip through the elbow that comes out? But nothing close to before.
£5.99! Big increase since I made this vid. Glad it's still helping tho 👍
I wish there was a reply as um having this exact problem....😬
Excellent, was able to get the part and cure the slow fill problem in a day for about £2. Delighted
Brilliant 👍
thank you for the video Handyman Craft Glasgow , got the part of ebay and fixed my toilet in about 5 minutes because of your video . thanks again.
Great. Glad it helped.
This video saved me from using a bucket for the toilet and another week 😂 thank you 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Glad it helped 👍
Thanks for the video. £3.49 for a replacement diaphragm, 10 minutes work and we now have a cistern that fills in 2 minutes rather than 20! Brilliant :D
Thank you so much for this video! How do I adjust the water fill level? Mine seems a little low.
Usually you can adjust at the top of the float.
@@handymancraftglasgow ok thank you.
Really easy, completed the repair as per video. Took me a couple of minutes, saving me money on a plumber. Thanks a lot.
Glad it helped
Exactly what I was looking for. Superb demo, thanks for posting up ! Saved me £100 for a plumber1
Glad it helped 👍
Great - couldn't figure out what was wrong with my valve so watched the previous video on replacing the whole valve - saw this follow-on video, watched it, thought 'that fitting looks familiar', checked the diaphragm and saw a little split just like in the video, got the siamp diaphragm valve replacement from screwfix (ridiculous price at £4.69 but you pay for the convenience of just picking it up within an hour), fitted it and all fixed.
That's great. Glad it helped 👍
Brilliant video, wonderfully explained, bought my diaphragm in Screwfix. Isn’t it easy when you know how. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment. Glad it helped.
Great video. Managed to repair the toilet myself for a few quid after watching this.
Brilliant
Thanks for posting this. I had the exact same problem with my toilet. Picked up the part from Screwfix today and now it’s all sorted.
Brilliant 👍
I repaired the slow fill issue by replacing the diaphragm washer, so thanks for that 🙌🏽 but now the toilet won't 'full flush', it only half flushes when you press the big button. Have I done something when I replaced the washer?
Check the flush button is on correctly and both parts of the button line up with the flush mechanism.
@@handymancraftglasgow I'll give this a go. Thank you 🙌🏽
