@Toney Tone Man thanks I was driving my self crazy thinking this has got to work lol. You are the man. I guess I will try to find something low priced so I can start posting some of my work. Thanks again.
i didnt know you can track out through midi thanks...i have a 003 so i have all the inputs i need and the 8 outputs on the 2500....keep up the good work!!!
You've taught me a few things here. I've got an MPC 1000, but all of the functions you mentioned are the same. This is a more effective way to use the song function; I didn't know about "Mute Tracks Ignored". Also never used the digital ports for recording. I just figured it out after watching this; using S/PDIF will eliminate the feedback problems I'd encountered. Thanks for posting. Ted Twis
Short answer is no.. Because you cannot connect midi cables directly to your computer to control the mpc/keyboard. You would need some kind of inexpensive interface
So i still don't understand why you would sync protools to akai unless u got vst's in protools... so i think I may have just answered my question. Ur actually property using an mpc . Midi production center. Cool video man. Ive been stuck caveman style for like 20 years only using mine as a sampler/sequencer, and ive just been recording into protools
most people use their mpc standalone (without a computer) and then dump everything into protocols to mix. You would sync to keep the timing and to dump all tracks at once.
Imma ask a crazy question. If I do this with my MPC 3000, will I be able to use the sounds (or insert a CD in the CD slot) in my Macbook and transfer it to my MPC 3000? I really don't like using floppies and I like to sample from CD's as well as Vinyl.
h jnbk I'm not sure about MPC 3000, never used one. Does it have a USB port or a Flash card port to transfer the music from the CD? If not, just record the music from the CD into your MPC using a mixer, or record it onto a tape and hook the tape deck up to the record in on the 3000 to sample the music from the CD. Remember, there's an MPC, There's always a way lol. Have fun.
@ToneyTone I have an axiom 25 midi keyboard and was wondering if I could use it to track out from my mp 2500 for mixing in pro tools. The interfaces right now are not in my pocket range.
+slliks67 I'm a little confused by your question. Are you using your MPC as the sequencer, with Your DAW acting a sound module, and a USB MIDI keyboard controller?
Thanks +slliks67 MIDI does not need to be tracked down, because midi is data not audio (sound) Although if you were tracking down an ANALOG keyboard via MIDI you could do it this way (with audio cables). Hope that helps..
Thank you king
Dope thanks bro
Dope video 👑💯.. Do you have one for the 2000?
same difference
Man thank you so much for this
Is that you Kendrick ? Ha ha, good work this video was helpful!

Great Video!... Thanks for time and effort that you put into this!!!
Now how do you export that song into a cd, usb or phone ?
you bounce it into an mp3 & save it to your phone
I am trying to do the same thing you did (mpc as slave) except use my axiom as the interface.

@Tony Tone Good Tutorial, is it necessary to have an interface or can i do this with just a midi keyboard

Thank you for the video. Will this same process work with a 2000XL?
it should. The 1000 and 2000XL is quite similar to the 2500.
