Finally!!!!!! Someone who really knows how to make a installation tutorial. Got a MPC 2000 that I refuse to get rid of. I know this is a older video but its worth a billion dollars in my book boss. Thanks alot
Genius!!!bro, simply genius...all the other tutorials vid. aren't like this one. This solves the single and most important problem i could never figure out, thanks for sharing your knowledge on this...it has truly been very helpfull for a guy like me.......once again thanks and great video...
+jayskater07 No problem Jay. I know it took me forever to scour TH-cam and piece together how to do this so I thought I'd make it easier for other people. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned for more and if there is anything you want to see, shoot us a message and we'll try our best to cover it for you.
this video is the only video on youtube that actually shows how to track out this is my same setup had the mpc 2xl for years and barely found all this out thanks to you
+richard pollock No problem. Took me a while too and the only video I could find on youtube about it was severely outdated and was so hard to find that I felt obligated to make one.
Is the sound coming into the computer from the midi or the stereo cable? I plan on buying one soon..just trying to figure it out. I don't understand why both cables are needed...also if you record a keyboard into your mpc with midi cables is the keyboard sounds recorded into the mpc? Thanks
Thanks for the question. So midi notes are like pieces of information. They tell a program when to trigger a device. So whatever device you have, be it a knob on a reverb, a piano vst or whatever, the program you are using triggers that device according to the midi data. The sound is actually coming in through the audio cable. If you record a keyboard into your MPC I believe it works the same way. The midi data would be the key strikes you play on the keyboard but the sounds would be seperate and be recorded into the MPC thru the audio cable. I hope that helps. I will plan to make a video about it too. Thanks for watching!
Im completely lost on setting my mpc up, i have this: PC, focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface, krk 5s, and the mpc 2000xl. No mixer. How would i set this up for it to work? Ive bought audio cables for my stereo out on my mpc, wich i assume is going to go into my interface? Then i have Midi to usb cables wich goes from my mpc into my computer. The thing is though i do not gain any connection with the mpc in fl studio, ive tried numerous tutorials on youtube both messing around with the software on the mpc and the cables. Do i NEED a mixer for this to work and cables for record in also? Any help is highly appreciated!
+Raz z If you have your MPC stereo out cables from your MPC to your audio interface and MIDI to USB cables from your MPC to your PC then you don't need a mixer. I use the mixer so I can tweak audio from vinyl records before sampling it into my MPC and also to tweak the output from my MPC to FL Studio when I track beats out. I explained in the video how to configure the settings on your MPC and the settings in FL Studio. Did you watch the whole video? If you did watch the whole video and you still have more questions, I'm happy to help.
I don't completely understand your question, but I think I know what you're asking. Maybe this video I made would be helpful th-cam.com/video/sah1jTnZPr4/w-d-xo.html
so is the main purpose for doing this being able to make a beat externally from your daw just using the mpc, and then being able to put it in fl studio to edit it and add/mix etc. ? great video
Yes. Basically. Some people prefer to use hardware to sequence their drums or to create entire beats and polish them in their DAW this explains how to use the MPC and Fruity Loops to do so. Thanks for the question and Thanks for watching!
I don't have much experience with the 1000. Maybe you could track down a manual that could help identify some of the settings that are different and how to use them. Sorry I can't be of more help. Thanks for watching.
Yo. I assume you mean the difference between stereo and mono. A stereo signal is split between the left and right channels meaning there are two input sources feeding one output signal. There could be different sounds in the left channel than the right channel or if there the two instruments, say a piano and a guitar, the left channel could have all the audio information from the piano and the right channel have all the audio information from the guitar. This is kinda why stereo cables are split into two, they carry each channel (L and R) separately. A mono signal carries all the audio information together from only input one source to one output signal. I hope that helped some. I don't completely know all the ins and outs of stereo and mono myself but this is my general understanding of it. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!
The AIM Society I know that you weren't sure if you answered my question.. You did.. Spot on.. Thanks for responding.. I'm working on my sampling.. It's like I'm picking the right sound. I just can't get the looping and chopping they way I want... I won't give up watching guys like your self just keeps me motivated.. Thanks... Another question if you don't mind me asking.. Is.. When making a beat do only use tracks or sequence... I'm recording everything on different tracks.. I don't know what to do with the sequence..?? Sorry for thinking knowledge is free... But damn you make it look so easy. Peace.. Stay humble... Society
No problem. I don't mind the questions. It takes time to get things sounding the way you want. Happy to hear you're not getting too discouraged. Usually I use a seperate track for each instrument, and depending on how I want the song to progress, I use different combinations of instruments on each sequence. Say for instance you want a two bar intro with just your sample chops playing...you make that one sequence. Then you want the next sixteen bars to be the verse but you dont want the kick to come in until halfway through (8 bars). In this case, I would make one sequence with everything except the kick, then another sequence with everything including the kick and so on... Hope that helps.
Pardon the silly question? But in the case of the mpc 4000. Would u still need the midi to USB cable? Basically, would using the USB on the MPC 4000 to connect to FL compromise ur use and/or stop u from tracking out🤔 Thanks
Never a silly question. Its always an opportunity for one of us to learn something. In this case maybe someone else can help both of us learn something. I'm not familiar with the 4000, but I assume if it has a built is USB cable it would serve the same purpose and probably be a little easier to configure. Try to track down a user's manual if you don't have one. It would be more helpful than I can be. Thanks for the question though and thanks for watching.
Does this just transfer midi data or does it give you the audio? Like do you have to have the sounds on your computer or are you getting all the sounds off the mpc through this process?
This transfers MIDI data and audio as long as you configure your MPC and DAW like I did in the video. The output and MIDI from your MPC need to be the input to your DAW.
First off, great video! How do you track out stereo? I have a beat that has subtle differences coming out on the Left than on the right and that's why I want to track out my beat stereo and not mono. For example, on the Left I have the guitar a bit heavier than on the Right to add dynamics to the song. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
this should work the same with my mpc 1000 probably right? also, do you know how I would go about playing a live loop thru the mpc directly on to fl studio?
I'm guessing this would work similarly with the MPC1000. When you saying playing a live loop, are you intending to play live performance and record that straight into FL? If so, I've never tried that before, so I can't really speak on it. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime and see what happens. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the question.
ya, I had a chance to mess around in my studio and it worked great, also worked good for live playing...I figured if it could work like that then it would be easier to add in a couple sounds on the fly or whatever with your already almost completely tracked out beat....i just had to go get a usb to midi like yours and then everything was fine, my Tascam us-1641 interface wasn't being picked up in fruity loops for some reason.....great vid, lots of help, thanks alot
Hey man, my MPC1000 has a left and right port for its Stereo Out. Would I have to connect one for each side directly from my MPC into my audio interface? This is a bit tricky lol
You can connect the left and right to your interface or you can use the headphone jack. If you use the left and right, make sure you have the correct cable so the audio doesn't get messed up. I can't remember if it's a balanced or uncbalanced TRS cable or sumn like that.
Sorry for the delayed response. I think if you want to preserve stereo output, like if you pan any of the sounds in your MPC mixer, then you would need to use the left and right, but if all your sounds are centered you can probably get away with a single output to your interface. Thanks for watching!
Sup man thanks for the great video, I tried setting this up exactly as you did but it didnt work at all. I also have a synth hooked up my mpc but i have that on 2/b shouldnt affect the mpc right
Who has any suggestions with how to fix the time syncing issues with tracking out to a DAW with this technique. It doesnt always sync correctly and sometimes the master sync in fl studio will change the groove from you MPC performance.
+Kendonezia Normally when I sample I just find the chops like. I don't even really listen for kicks and snares unless they are obstructing the part I want to use, in which case I try to EQ them out as much as possible on my mixer. Aside from that I only listen for snares and kicks if I am chopping a loop.
I don't have 8 outs, but I believe if you map each output to a different track in your DAW you can do that or if you have a mixer to run through you should still get one stereo signal in from the mixer. Thanks for watching.
im new to this and would really like some help with my fl studio /mpc studio slim hook up,ihave a bunch of studio equpment and dont know where to beging when it comes to setting up my home studio!any help will be really appeciated!!!
do u know by chance why my mpd 232 might be on a different note than fl studio when in piano roll? for example , i change the pad on the mpd to c4 and when i look in fl studio , the note is playing on c5. so than i assign pad note to c5 and on fl studio it plays note c6. please lmk if you have experienced this and know how to fix it. thank you awesome videos
Jay P I have a MPD18 and I have to use the software called MPD18 Editor to configure the settings. Maybe the MPD32 has editor software you can use to make sure the hardware and FL are in the same octave. Aside from that, I'm not sure, but there might be a way to change it in MIDI settings in FL also. I would check the FL manual for details. Thanks for watching!
COMET212 😫 man. I haven't used the MPC Live, but I assume the setup in FL would be pretty similar maybe some small changes in the way the MIDI configured. I would suggest the MPC Live manual maybe....
I just subbed too. Hope you can help me. I've been wanting an mpc since the 90s. I was going to get the mpc renascence but I found out it's discontinued...so before getting the mpc x I'm planning on buying an mpc 2000 to learn on since that's the exact model I used to want when I was 16 when it came out. I'm just wanting to get the best sound into my daw..

Yes this video is GOLD.. i was always wondering how to track everything out from my MPC to my DAW. Gracias hermano!
Five years late, but this was a great explanation. I watched another one by another dude and it didn’t make sense to me like this did.
THANK YOU! Really good tutorial well documented.
Thanks for watching!
Great Video!
+DJBlackIce Podless Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. More coming in the near future. Keep it locked to the channel.
THANX BRO.......YOU HELPED ME OUT....
Thanks for watching!
Brother, thank you! Peace and blessings.
grave cool merci

thanks a lot bro this really helped.
+thefleyeingmonk No problem sir. If you have any suggestions for future videos let me know. I appreciate you watching and subscribe to stay updated.
Great video do u ever get a lag when recording your mpc audio to fl studio. I seem to have a delay when I do this with my mpc
thanks, took me a year to figure this out.
+richard pollock No problem. Took me a while too and the only video I could find on youtube about it was severely outdated and was so hard to find that I felt obligated to make one.
Salute! is there any way u can go more in tune with this video as far as lining them sounds out once u record em or do they line up by themselves?
I can do another video about lining them up after recording, but it should be just dragging them wherever you want them.
thank you so much cause im a beginer at this
+Maurice hardy No problem. Thanks for watching and please share it with anyone your know who needs it.

wesb martinez i dont think another device hooked up to the MPC should affect it, but I havent done it before so I'm not sure.
Figured it out, im using fl 12 and in midi you dont select anything for me i have to choose 0 in order for it to sync.
Good to know cause I have FL12 now too. Thanks for the question and answer and thanks for watching!
how would I track out beat to fl studio from a mpc studio black
I haven't used any of the newer MPC's Twolf. I probably know less about it than you do. Sorry.
Who has any suggestions with how to fix the time syncing issues with tracking out to a DAW with this technique. It doesnt always sync correctly and sometimes the master sync in fl studio will change the groove from you MPC performance.
Not too sure how to fix that man. Sorry. Seems like that a growing pain from hardware to software. Thanks for the question and watching!
I would love to send you some tracks for critical outlook

I don't have 8 outs, but I believe if you map each output to a different track in your DAW you can do that or if you have a mixer to run through you should still get one stereo signal in from the mixer. Thanks for watching.

any way I can play a chord with one key on fl?
+Kendonezia Good question! I'm not sure actually, but I will find out and get you an answer. Thanks for the question though. Stay tuned!
If I want to use the MPC as a midi controller do I need to connect it to an interface or do I only need the midi to usb?
If you only want it as a MIDI controller, I believe you only need MIDI to USB.
Can't you use it without midi ??? I just want the signal . I can't use the headphone output into the interface like a mic ???? 🤔
Yes u can just enable count in on play on the mpc so u can line the audio stems up easy
