    I've been thinking about replacing a noisy switch since before covid and this video pushed me to actually do something - I bought one so I suggest you negotiate with them a commission from their website!

    Is the footprint of the new unit about the same size as the one you replaced, great video by the way i will buy one soon thanks.

      @DADDELIVERS  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @Gazzwazz - thanks for the kind comment. Yes, the size is identical, but I had to offset it to get the wire hole in the ceiling to line up with the entry point in the footprint, if that makes sense. It's still working brilliantly at 1am for us! Thanks again

    Great product, thanks for the heads up 👍🏻
    Shame about the repetitive video tho' 🙄
    It may be a pain but a pull chord switch means you can't electrocute yourself like with a wet hand operating a wall mounted switch. The US and Canada are both on 120V mains, we are on 230V mains so that's why they have wall mount switches in bathrooms - you can't electrocute yourself with 120V as far as I know

      Oh yeah, forgot to say that I think what you called a 'base plate' is called a rose, like the ceiling roses used for mounting ceiling lights. Looking at your base it has an unused knockout to one side which I would say is the one to use in your application. Knock it through and feed the cable from the ceiling through it and screw the rose to the ceiling a few mm to one side so the hole in the rose lines up with the cable and the hole in the switch unit and drop the cable straight through and terminate the cable keeping it as straight as possible. You may have to paint any of the missed area on the ceiling plaster board that shows to the side of the switch, if there is any. If that's the biggest challenge you encounter in life, you have an easy life my friend.

    I replaced my bathroom pull cord just over a month ago and it sounds like cocking a pump action shotgun everytime we pull it and is getting on my nerves so ill definitely be swaping it out for a quiet one as soon as i get the chance.
    Pay no attention to that silly Sparky in the coments and keep up the good work with the videos.
    Cheers Lee

      @DADDELIVERS  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha thanks Lee - I appreciate it!
      I even bought a new pull cord thinking it would be quieter, and think the pump action was even worse. And you're right: That ray of sunshine in the comments doesn't realise quite how transformative this is for our very existence as a family.
      And it's a good job he doesn't know this, because literally every video I make is for reactions like that, and people like him!
      Really appreciate the kind comment.

    Not Against regs at all and as long as you replace with a like for like or with a higher I.P. rating then its perfectly fine.

    How did you resolve the earth wire screw issue?
    I've received mine, but the earth wire screw is properly stuck, and refuses to work.
    Looks like a common problem, I'm shocked the company has not resolved this issue, very poor.

    • @DADDELIVERS
      @DADDELIVERS  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi thanks for the kind comment. From memory I think I completely unscrewed the thing, which loosened the earth screw or allowed me to move it, and then screwed it back together again. It was well worth it. They're very good at dealing with feedback if you did contact them. Hope this helps!

    Hey there sparky here just thought I would say don't attempt electrical work if your not confident especially in a bathroom it's against regs and could void your house insurance if they find out your work was the cause of any issues like a house fire ect...
    Always contact an electrician as this won't cost much at all as you have the product
    Kind regards Riley Jarvis the sparky.

      replacing a switch is one of the “like for like” tasks you can do as a homeowner under Electrical safety: Approved Document P of the Building Regulations.
