The room you were in after the pool appeared to still be in the basement because of the lower ceilings and lack of natural light. If that is the case, that was our book room and not the library. The library was on the second floor. Thanks for the video, a good walk down memory lane! I hate to see that building in such a condition.
I love this school so much. There's been times when I was younger (5-4 years old) with my mom and siblings were we would hang out around the school. Teens were constantly throwing stuff out those windows, but there have been a couple times when we were finding a way in, where kids wouldn't let us because we didn't have masks on (this school is filled with mold apparently).
Think about this: The school opened during the 2nd year of WWI (1915) It's peak enrollment was 115,543 (1967). Members of the class that graduated that year are 75 if they're still with us. State Champs: - Swimming - Diving: 1942, 1948, 1955 - Cross Country - 1949 - Basketball: 1953 - Baseball: 1953 - Girls Basketball: 1985
I was here a few times in 2012. The power was on, the water too. I found homework in the gym from 2010. We had to hide from cops. It's so different now.
Hello this place is super close to my house and I was looking to explore it and take pictures there was a lot of security and no way of entering any tips from how you got in ?
I was there in 1976 wow the memories water polo in the pool and way to many drugs available the corner store were we delivered are pop bottles for a snck allso we walked to school wilst smoking a joint before during and after lol lived on mishagen av.
Good shit guys 👍 We should go on a trip together. Found your QR code when we were exploring the Jamestown Mall. I know a ghost town you guys might like to explore. Keep up the good work. DM me !!
Whos they? The staff did more to poison that place then the mold did the rest. I got over there for the 1997-1998 school year from the north side. The rotc staff inc. MSGT ROE, CWO Taylor, & assistant principal Calvin Starks (uncle tom sellout) were all in on treating us like crap. It wasn't our fault another SLPS staff took the "magnet school selection" application briefcase onto a casino property & LOST it for several days. SO we just got dumped over there instead of where our families attended school for generations. That didn't get out tho. Just lots of yelling & detention for dumb stuff. Personal belongings like $80 calculators were stolen & it was a trusted upper class-man left in the room. School did nothing. Probably 8-10 kids in the class were ripped off & the ROTC commander Mr. FERRARI WARE did nothing! The other SLPS teachers were powerless to stop the abusers. Nobody spoke up for the kids from the northside! So when I come back & roll past I'm like whatever, its too bad they lost the building but I didn't loose anything but half my sanity attending there. ❤🩹 Not going to even comment on what they done to the transcripts of the kids they DISMISSED for behavioral problems!
