      I think that's only for video. Video AF does occasionally jump to the background and the way it recovers is too quick and jerky.
      For stills I don't think AF will be an issue anymore for the usual genres.

      Without seeing the images we can't even form an opinion. A pretty little AF box tells you the camera has detected a face or eyes, but does not guarantee its in focus. When we see full res images at 100% we'll know how good it really is.

    Thanks, I'll stick with Canon support and the full-frame R6. Last Fuji I owned was an X-T20. Is Fuji still releasing products and letting users find the bugs? That was the case with the X-H1.

      Ana's, someone with an R6 who used to shoot Fuji. What's your opinion on Fuji's high ISO performance, as I've never found an APS-C camera I've been happy with in that regard.

    • @AnandaGarden
      @AnandaGarden 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm thinking depends on your standards. I can tolerate "reasonable" grain in ultra-dark scenes because I'm a utility photographer capturing mostly public events where darkness and grain can add to the mood. For art photography I'm guessing any APS-C sensor wouldn't do the job. I'm happier with the Canon R6, of course, which has excellent low-light shadow low noise. In dark situations I want the important bits to be lit reasonably well, and then I can often let the shadows go to h...l.

      If you need AF and external BRAW at the same time, it looks good. If you don't need RAW video, a7iv might be a better pick, and if you don't need AF, the Panasonic S5 + BM Video assist will cost the same as the XH2S body only.

      And not to mention it shoots 4k 120, and 6k open gate.
      None of these things can be said about the sony a7iv and any camera coming with the specs of the xh2s is costing $4,500 at the very minimum. Xh2s packs them for $2,500.

    • @professionalpotato4764

      @Kamau Yes, rolling shutter performance is great. But not that Sony is bad. This issue is over exaggerated by influencers. I QC shows for broadcast distribution, and in my last 1.5 years, I've only seen 1 single whip pan affected by rolling shutter. As long as people know how fast to pan with each lens and each frame rate, it is ok for most scenarios. There's even a calculator on RED's website that tells people how fast they can pan. Obviously, if one is shooting sports, the xh2s or z9 makes more sense than the a7iv.
      Braw for xh2s feels like beta firmware and is not fully operational. Cine Dailies did a video on it and BM view assist is still not stable.

    • @professionalpotato4764
      @professionalpotato4764 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kamau Also, it doesn't have 2 stops more than the R5C. Gerald Undone tested 11.8 vs R5C 12.3 stops in their 4k oversampled modes. And CineD tested 11.9 vs 12.0 on the R5C. So it is really close to FF and an incredible performance. But it is not 2 stops better. With some NR in post, XH2S hits around 14, but if you do the same NR to the R5C, it should lead to similar results.
