well it should be in the release and not in hope for miracle updates - the AF performance kills this system big time to the competition - I had it for 2 weeks and returned it - I´m also on the hope for fuji miracles team :) but it disapoints every time - colors are graet - well.. they are also excellent on cameras with a usable AF system

About a year ago, I fully switched my kit from Sony to Fuji. Mostly for a lot of the same reasons you talk about here. The Fuji cameras I tried out inspired me to want to shoot. I got the X100V first, for all of my EDC/personal camera needs. For my professional work camera, I went with the GFX100S. The big difference in the two helps keep that line between work and personal like you talked about. I am considering one of the new X-H2 bodies for something in the middle though. Haha

I have to disagree with the statement that because the retro dials were omitted, that the X-H2 feels like a traditional camera. The retro styling of the earlier Fuji's DO feel like a traditional camera. The X-H2 might feel like a modern camera, but not so much like a traditional camera.

Great work Manny, I really enjoyed that. You really nailed it here, combining useful technical information with some really artistic and atmospheric b-roll - it's really hard to deliver both effectively. Loved the POV shots too, may I ask what you used for that? Looked like an action cam looking down on the camera combined with something better quality filming the back of the camera maybe on a bracket? Either way, it looked really good. The guts of the XH2 bodies are amazing. The ergos; mushy thumb stick, lack up tactile inputs, front and back dials don’t push in, S/C/M toggle is a button now, HDR/S/M/CL/CH is gone too. I love me some Fuji but this camera was definitely not made for me. In my opinion, the XH2 isn’t designed for “professionals” , it’s designed for users that are moving from systems with a similar UI/ergos BUT adding the unexplainable Fuji flare. I think Fuji had to make a decision; capture THIS market and risk pissing off a few long time customers or keep us customers happy. From a business standpoint, they did the right thing. If they strip away things that made the XT/X Pro/X 100 series special, they’ll have potentially soured the customers that gush about how amazing Fuji is. Or, that customer *may move to a GFX system BUT as you stated, this design is in the. GFX 50s II and 100s bodies. The XS10 has this language too and I avoided that camera. Solid 48 breakdown man. I think you nailed it in saying the images come out looking like memories. And they aren’t always perfect and that’s what makes them special.

After using the XH2s autofocus, there’s basically nothing the H2 can do to win me over. I’m done wasting time and energy on soft/missed or chasing focus. I’ll trade the extra 15mp and 2K video every single day to know the autofocus got it right with the h2s when I need it to take over. I can’t believe they didn’t do more to match the autofocus to the h2s since they could’ve been such a strong pair. The h2 is arguably the stronger photo camera where autofocus should feel as good as the h2s.

@@shadowmaster41 yes, picking a camera is a tough and fun process 😃
I would advise you to prioritize your needs/wishes and work from there. Do you:
      - Travel a lot? (weight)
      - Work a lot with fast moving subjects? (af)
      - Like a shallow depth of field and dreamy pictures (lenses)
      - Want to enjoy taking pictures. Not only the end result but enjoying the proces.(Haptics, buttons, in camera profiles).
      - Photograph a lot at night?
      For example:
How important is weight? An XT 5 is light but equally importantly so are the lenses (Small sensor = small lenses). The 70-300 is a great travel tele lens for documentary (Maybe not for sport ;) I have some full frame 2.8 tele lenses. Most of the time @ home because they are too heavy to carry around all dat 😅
The XT 5 haptics are great and gives you the feeling that you are more involved in the making proces.
Sony has blazing AF but to me feels a bit computer like. Less fun to hold and operate. If your susceptible for such things 😁
Nikon leans a bit towards Sony although I like the ergonomics of Nikon better (better "camera in your hand" feeling).
I can go on for a while, but you get my drift.
You often hear: "There is no perfect camera". I would disagree with that. There are so many cameras that there is one for everybody. The perfect camera is the one that fits your needs. 👍🏼✨

so on point at the end. Bought a X100V just before my daughter was born cause my A7iii started to feel like work so I wasn't taking it anywhere with me. X100V has been taken everywhere and EVEN inspired me to start shooting film so invested in a Contax T2 too. Can't beat the Sony focus system and it's one hell of a tool but you're right, there's something about those Fuji cameras wanting you to pick them up.

I keep telling myself I'm done buying Fuji cameras. For one thing, the x-trans that drives me nuts in Lightroom...and next, I didn't need or want a shutter speed dial or exposure comp dial (OK if there's one, but I'd rather have the top screen). So now...here they come with a 40 MP sensor with IBIS and in a great DSLR style body I like to use. Dang it. Have one on order now. A few other things I like...the grip, the upgraded EVF, dual card slots that are just like my Z7 II (CFexpress + SD), the option to change aperture via the command dial instead of the lens aperture ring (never liked using the ring). Well, I assume since there's no SS dial and we have a traditional DSLR style setup that you can assign the aperture changes to the front or rear dial (think I saw that in the XH2s owner manual). I think this will be a nice pair/second camera to my Z7 II. I've always enjoyed the Fuji experience overall, even with the dials I didn't need, but this body should really tick all the boxes for me.

How did you go with the H2?

    • @ThePhotographyHobbyist
      @ThePhotographyHobbyist หลายเดือนก่อน

@@blade1535 I loved the X-H2 and I had zero problems with it. Image quality and the autofocus (including AF-C / tracking) is excellent. I ended up switching back to Nikon because I bought the X-H2 BEFORE the Nikon Z8 was announced. I generally prefer Nikon high end cameras as my default choice, but I had no idea how big and how much $ the rumored Z8 would cost (at the time I didn't even know if the Z8 rumors were real, when it would come, etc). So I bought the X-H2 and was totally happy with it, but once the Z8 came out I decided to get the Z8 since it was better than I expected it to be. Long story short, I would have been perfectly happy with the X-H2, if the Z8 didn't exist. I have a photo gallery on my website with some X-H2 photos if you'd like to see them. Just go to my TH-cam profile and you'll see my website. There's a link to the X-H2 gallery on the main page.

Looking for them to add the ability to add ISO to one of the command dials like the previous cameras via firmware update. Being limited to Aperture and SS doesn’t make much since, given that all native lenses (as far as I know of) have aperture rings. That level of customization really set us apart from other companies. But with this, it makes me feel like we’re heading towards an overly digital set up that takes away from some of what made Fuji so special and different. It’s like they tried to please sony users with this, which isn’t necessary. I think the ISO button is a great addition, as long as our options aren’t taken away. That flexibility with the dials is more suitable for fast paced shooting in my opinion. My set up was Right Index on Front Dial (SS), Thumb on Back Dial (ISO), Left Hand under lens for Aperture - it was so intuitive and fluid as opposed to having to press a button and change the ISO on screen.

Great video Manny! I totally get what you’re saying. I’ve shot Canon the majority of my photography pro-life, but I’ve felt for some time it was time to make a change. Canon as great as their RF glass is, has out-priced my wallet! They’ve been slow moving & not flexible concerning their mirrorless lineup. First I purchased the R, then the R6 & almost brought the R7! But the lenses are laughable! Reminds me of the M50 & how they never introduced any high end(low light) glass. All the while I continue to watch the support given to Sony & now Nikon from 3rd party companies! I added a Fuji XT3 to my bag & photography became fun again. I’ve since added Fuji & some 3rd party glass. I decided to sell my Canon gear. Now I’m trying to decide what will be it’s replacement! I’m thinking long & hard how I’ll spend my money. Good thing there’s a lot of great gear out here! Brand loyalty is a thing of the past, now I chose who better suits my needs!

Hermano...Gracias! I love Fuji. I have had the XT1, XT2, XH-1 and X70. I love Fuji for all of the reasons you mentioned. I just sold my Leica SL2-S and Q2. I love the image quality of Leica but not cost of lenses for the SL2-S, especially with my Son in graduate school and my Daughter in high school The other reason I sold them was because of the slow auto focus. I missed many shots of my Son and Daughter who both run cross country and track. The auto focus is just awful. So I'm without a camera trying to decide between the Sony A7IV or Nikon z7II. My X-T4 is unfortunately defective, I had it sent away under warranty for a sensor remap. The on board software just couldn't do it, so now after having it away for a month and coming back it was fine for about 10 minutes but is back again with the same problem but in different places on the sensor. As of now after just having my X-T4 for just 2 months i'm looking at the X-H2 since i'm mainly wanting video performance and the X-H2 seems to offer that for me and the upcoming X-T5 not having a battery grip and an articulated screen put me off it, I love the articulating screen and need the battery grip for extended video recording. I love the X-T4's layout it's one of the best i've used and totally trashes my Pansconic's I've had its just so fluid and easy. With the X-H2 I will be sad not having the controls but under the skin beyond the dials on top it's just a better X-T4, I'll miss the short but sweet time I've had with the X-T4.
