King Charles III watches the march of the Lonach Highlanders during the 2023 Lonach Gathering

- His Majesty King Charles III attended the 2023 Lonach Gathering and Highland Games at Bellabeg in Strathdon, Scotland. This was on Saturday 26th August 2023 as his Majesty helped celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Lonach Highland and Friendly Society.
His majesty King Charles III was given a special marquee at the end of the Games field but stood to watch the arrival of the Lonach Highlanders at 1pm. His Majesty watched as the parade marched twice around the arena, led by retired Policeman James Wilson-Mitchell on his bicycle and the Lonach Pipe Band. Following were the Lonach standard bearers and the Society Patron, Sir James Forbes of Newe.
The Lonach Highlanders are made up of Clan Forbes, Gordon and Wallace (latter in red tartan) and for this special anniversary they were followed by representatives of the Kindred Games from Aboyne, Ballater and Braemar. Bringing up the rear is Socks the Lonach horse, ready to carry and weary Highlanders.
Thank you for this video with some extra footage of the March and the King and Equerry in the Royal Box. I was looking up Strathdon on the map (I'm in London) and it's a straight journey from East to the Western Isles. How lucky you all are to live in the Highlands, such a heavenly place. 🥰🏴💙
