Jeff Carlisi is a class act! I met him while attending the INDY 500 in John Mecom’s Private Suite. Such a nice, humble guy! Impeccable Guitarist as well
Jeff Carlisi in my opinion is one of the great rock guitar players. His solos and backing parts are so well put together. Saw them 30+ years ago and was really impressed with him as a player.
Thanks for posting this great interview. It's awesome for fans to get to see them as themselves when they weren't singing. Wish I could go back to 1982. This band ROCKED!!! and still do!!!!!. Seeing them soon!!
I'm complete right now. Love their Southern rock meets Beatles pop rock...brilliant...not the easiest thing to do like Kansas mixing boogie rock and prog rock...not easy to pull off...they did
I saw the band tonight, (7-29-21). Don is 68 years old and sounds and moves like he did in 1981. Too bad Jeff, Donnie and Larry are missing from the stage these days.
How do guys like this go under the mainstream radar like this? Try to google best 80s rock bands, I can bet my life that you do not see a result that 38 Special comes out.
Don Barnes had left the band before that album and video. The singer of “Second Chance” is Max Carl, who was hired to replace Don Barnes. Therefore, Don Barnes IS NOT in the video for “Second Chance.”

@@buddywilliams5650 echoing the same sentiment.....super underrated!

Carli's is one of my favorite guitarists.....
Love that!
I love Don!
a great human !
Wonderful interview.
They were probably playing at the Palladium. The best concert venue in the world. Don't argue with me. It was, by far.
Never before have we heard the basic ALCHEMY of ROCK so purely described.
@billautotech1: Bill, I always had the notion that Don and the guys in the band were good men - but that story proves it.
NYC before the 3rd World Country vibe set in

I have always liked Jeff Carlisis but when he impressed Paul rodgers that says a whole lot

Deseo saber si el guitarrista parado a mano izquierda en el video "Second Chance" es Don Barnes.
