..such a hard life .....as someone who's toured a little ....smaller scale.....so much respect for 38 Special... most of you guys have no idea how hard it is to get that many tunes played on the radio ....38 kicked ass ....cheers 👍
Toured a little as well. Gigged drums for years. People really have no idea how incredibly hard it is. Some who want to do this for a living have asked me for advise. I always say the same thing, "Get used to Campbell soup."
This fine southern fella is a legend and a consistently excellent guitarist - note for note - tone, accuracy and feel. Obviously his singing has always been way way above the pack
38 Special was at the casino in Walker Minnesota this weekend and my nephew and I went to see them. They were fantastic! Put on a great show and the energy was just like in the earlier years!. If you haven’t seen them live, you have to find a venue!
I have seen 38 special 40 times since 1982. they were awesome back then and still kick ass now. Their live shows have so much energy. Met Don Barnes twice over the years. the last time just a few months back in charlevoix michigan. they were staying at our hotel and after the show dead tired he still had time to talk me and my wife and his beautiful wife Christine took our picture with him. awesome man, great singer and extraordinary guitarist. but most of all just a downright nice guy. keep on rocking 38 special.
Saw them with Charlie Daniels and L S in I think 1976. Very good as were CDB and LS. 38 Special opened up the show and got folks going though I remember that we had never heard of them. I went to I tunes recently and gave those 2 first albums a listen and ended up buying both!! CDB was so good as the second band to play, they ended up doing 2 encores. L S then did a great set to top off a great concert.
Jim Peterik of Survivor really got them off the ground, and pointed in the right direction, after working with him on Wild-eyed Southern Boys and Special Forces, the Tour-de-force album was all theirs - Peterik also co-wrote the song Heavy metal with Sammy Hagar, so the man knows his way around a melody and song arrangements - but 38 Special never looked back after that, Skynyrd's the cream of the crop as far as southern rock bands go, but 38 Special's my favorite
Hall of Fame caliber band - these guys are ,a great American RocknRoll band - if artists such as NWA are in the hall, 38 Special should be in the Hall as well -
Here is a partial list of bands that we probably never would have heard of if record companies ‘invested in talent’ like they do today. “You can’t give me a hit now? See ya!” Kinda scary: 38 Special Kansas Journey REO Speedwagon Kiss Fleetwood Mac
If you have never seen .38 Special live, DO IT the next time around. They're touring in 2021, DO NOT miss these guys!!!
Their sound is so incredible live ❤ they sound exactly the way they sound in the studio!!! Still amazed by their talent
Carlisi, Barnes, and Jim.. writing perfection.
Have seen them 7 or 8 times. Absolutely love them.

Don has an Awesome voice, damn great guitar player, .38 special for life.
Don Barnes still sounds AMAZING!! I highly recommend seeing .38 Special if you have a chance....nothing but hits!
A Nice summary of hard Career choices & Sticking together as a Band! It's a Long Way to the Top! If you want to Rock & Roll 💪🏻
he is still alive and looks great! Good for him he is a winner!
Don the legend!
Greatest rock n roll singer of all time!
Great guy, great band.
Seems very smart, well spoken, and a nice guy. Great front man!
Our long haired wild rock and roll heroes are now senior citizens that remember where they came from. He seems very down to earth...
What and incredible voice.
great man, enjoyed the band many many times!!!

I wish he still had the early 1980s long hair rock and roller look but what great person he is
GREAT INTERVIEW
I saw them in Biloxi, MS, early 1980's with Molly Hatchet, I will never forget Robin Hood when they played.
Saw them with Charlie Daniels and L S in I think 1976. Very good as were CDB and LS. 38 Special opened up the show and got folks going though I remember that we had never heard of them. Rocking into the night
Don want to my grandmas middle school in 1965 !!!
Best southern rock band ever 38 Special
I was literally 5' from this man last night at a show at the Indy 500 track. Awesome. My son left with three picks from three members.
38 should be in the hall of fame
Baffles me how 38 Sp and Billy Squier remain unadmitted - both are without peer!
Don and Jeff Carlisi are killer players
The best singer ever!!!
...great band ....Don's a very underrated songwriter..
I really like that first album :)
How is this band not in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame???
As a little known band once said..
Its a Long Way to the Top (IF you Wanna Rock and Rock) 😈😈
Their early stuff was pure southern rock....good stuff. Then they got poppy and went for the radio hits.
❤
Hall of Fame caliber band - these guys are ,a great American RocknRoll band - if artists such as NWA are in the hall, 38 Special should be in the Hall as well -
And carlisi gives lessons on ytube😃

38 Special
Kansas
Journey
REO Speedwagon
Kiss
Fleetwood Mac
He aged good
Lets get original band back together
No one like Don Barnes...no one like 38 Special.
Both Don and the 38 Spec are one of my favorites
Me too. Great songs, great musicians.
And then we hired mr Carlisi to carry the hits with Peterik to run
Clearly he struggled to let Carlisi in.
This band is nothing like the earlier band
Yeah, that's a toupee.
First album....meh. Their 2nd album kicked ass. Third album, OK. Then the pop crap started.
Right Greg.. 💩 Way off my man
Excellent! Still, thumbs down on Peter Rudge.
Admit trump Lost!!!
