Absolutely! I agree with you 100%! I was in an abusive marriage! I was raised by abusive parents! I was born in 2nd generation Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Once you identify the patterns and traits of abusers the next step is healthy boundaries to protect yourself! You actually pointed out the main argument, because Lett implied that this rule was about unity, not scriptural/religious, not spiritual, but conformity. To please/obey who? For those who knew already that it was not scriptural, or even just plain foolish, why did they put up with this?...
As such an insignificant thing as it really is, the beard rule woke a lot of people up. Now I'm hoping the way they rolled the policy back gets people to think. It's so very clearly an example of letting themselves be controlled by a group of men.

Hey bro, I appreciate your comments. This is the first video I've seen of you on this topic. This organization is most of these people's entire lives. They're bound by family and culture. The only way people will wake or leave is if this organization closes its doors.

Because they cause great harm by shunning and covering up CSA. They are changing their status on beards to procure more followers. But this will be a great stumbling block to many old school witnesses who have followed the facial hair rule their entire lives. It’s just another example of a JW rule, that has no basis in the buybull. My sister’s husband’s are elders, PO’s and MS. All between the ages of 65 and 75. All with grown sons in the organization as well. I can see this being the last straw for many of them. Thirteen years ago they all stood around our mother’s hospital bed while she passed away. They watched in disbelief as a spirit creature and her deceased family members took her from her physical body. First they were all in complete fear, and the brothers in law began praying out loud as if to rebuke a demon. Then they realized she was speaking to deceased family members. It became extremely clear that we had ALL been lied to about death and dying. My sisters present did not go back to the meetings for months. The more they learn, the weaker their faith becomes.

Dear Brandon, I'm so glad to see that Father God called you out of that cult, into the Light of His Son, through Grace. Although this is not about beards, I was wondering if you could possibly help me. For years I have respectfully approached JW's, and have tried to open their eyes to the truth by using their own New World Translation. I have first tried to find things that we would agree on, such as Acts 9:15 and Saul/Paul being chosen by Jesus as His vessel, and then going to Galatians 1:6-9 where we all agree that Paul is saying that there is only ONE Good News (Gospel) and that was the Gospel that Paul and his brethren taught. Then I ask them to go to the JW Greek Interlinear for Colossians 1:15-18, and ask them to read it, where they don't speak the word *other* (which in context would be the Greek *λοιπός* or the transliterated loipos, pronounced loy-pas) once. Then I ask them to go to the same text in the New World Translation where they find the word *other* mentioned 4 times, 2 times in verse 16, and 2 times in verse 17. And though this would clearly demonstrate that the New World Translation is teaching a DIFFERENT Gospel (Good News) than what Paul taught, they don't seem to grasp that fact. So he’s always had that back. My favorite question to ask is this. Is Gog and Magog the same war as Armageddon? And they answer yes. Then I ask, why does Jehovahs word say that it’ll be the war will be after the 1000 year reign of Christ? Because they see that 1000 year reign is not his heavenly reign. But and earthy millennium. So it’s puts pressure on them, because they think the satan rules the world when in reality, he locked in a bottomless pit. And will be released later to deceive the nations for The final war. Praise the Lord for his truth and I pray that Jehovah Witnesses will be born again and inherit eternal life through the redemption in Christ Jesus!
