Welcome to our new video titled: Empty House Tour of Our Bellway Weston New Build & Showing all Upgrades 🏡 - Vlog 21
For those who don't know we are first time buyers and we finally got our keys to our Bellway Weston new build, so whats the first thing we (apart from running around screaming like children) we film our empty house tour.
We go through every room showing all upgrades and plans for each room. We also have a garage which will be a separate video BIG plans for that.
The empty house tour is what it is, the house is very empty and echoes but we are planning on doing a full house tour once complete in a few months.
The next vlog will be us moving house which we are gong to do over a few days so that should be fun....kinda

Thanks Charlene I’m very glad you have enjoyed the videos. I felt so bad when we lost the house demo and tried hard to upload this asap. We should finish moving on Saturday and they should be uploaded a week or so after depending on internet in the new house 😂😂😂

Been waiting for this update, great choices throughout the house. The spot lights make a huge difference. The half tiling in the downstairs toilet just makes it look class, something myself and my partner did and will be doing again when we go for our 2nd new build 😁. Can't wait to see the house decorated and furnished. Congratulations on your new home by the way 😄

It's a beautiful house, and it's just the way YOU want it! I've watched a zillion UK house videos, and 90% of them have what you have, a living room with only one entrance. If I bought your house (which can't happen 'cause you'll be there 90 years from now) I would put a doorway from the living room into the kitchen. But that's just me.
When you landscape your back garden, think about planting a shade tree. Practically no one in the UK has a big shade tree in their garden, only little, puny fruit trees.

Love the kitchen! We were going to choose similar cupboards but changed our mind at the last minute and went for a lighter colour because my husband was afraid it would look too dark ☹️ now I wish we went with our original choice!
We hopefully get our keys in April so I can’t wait to move!

Not a bad idea, we’ve looked at some shutters but haven’t found any that we like so far 🙁 the search continues.

Thanks Liam honestly really appreciate it. Have fun with your upgrades and extras, dangerous work though end up spending a lot 😂😂. Not at all bud we went with marble scirocco (hopefully spelt correctly) counters and they were free. They were part of the standard options so all free 😜😜

We have a massive plan for the garden and if we opted for turf in the garden we would’ve ended up tearing up like a third of it anyway, we felt it would be easier this way 👍 garden will be coming soon been mad with three storms since moving in which has put us starting on it back a little 😩

I’m really sorry I don’t know the square footage, it wasn’t something that was important to us after we fell head over heels for the house. 😂 It may be on Bellway’s website but I’m sorry not sure.

Thanks Erin glad you enjoyed it. The half height tiles for us was £296 which we thought was abit much but turned out to be worth it in our opinion. Probably worth mentioning that it may be more if the WC is bigger. (Sorry if you already knew that 😂)
What a lovely house! We’re thinking about buying a Bellway so this is really useful! Sorry if you’ve covered this in another video but can I ask why you didn’t get the built in wardrobes done with Bellway? Or it might not be an option but just wondering 😊 thank you in advance!
Good evening, thank you very much we’re enjoying it so far 😆😆 it’s all good don’t worry. We couldn’t justify the large price tag. We were just offered basically the doors and one rail. We wanted a fully custom interior as well so decided against it. Not a problem anytime. Thank you again 👍👍

Congrats! Can you share if you use any snagging surveyor to report snagging in your new house? When you need to report the snagging and any deadline to report snagging? 🙏
Thanks very much 😁 of course, we are going to use a company called snagsure and the time limit to sort out snags (we’ve been told) is two years. Depending on when we hire snagsure and depending on when Bellway get the snagging report. The sooner they get it the better of course. In the first three weeks on site deal with any snags we’ve found initially, we gave them a list of things we noticed. For example our bathroom doors were getting caught and not opening properly so they got a joiner in to fix it 2 days after we told them. So far they have been great and we’ve not had too much to sort out. From now on it’s Bellway customer care we have to go through.

How much did all the upgrades in the house cost you guys
Hey thanks for watching, overall the upgrades cost between £8700 - £9500 I can’t remember the exact figure. It would’ve been about £3k more but we got a lot of kitchen appliances as incentives 😁 We have a cost breakdown video of you wish to watch a full breakdown 👍
How much was the upgrade of the full length wall mirror in your en-suite?
Hey Daniel thanks for watching. We didn’t end up getting a quote from Bellway direct because it was going to be £300 minimum. So we ended up going with a third party after we moved called Made to Measure (.co.uk) who quoted £89.99 but it’s self installation. Hope that helped 👍👍

Thanks for watching Emma, we haven’t installed it yet. Ordered and dispatched, but it shouldn’t be that hard abit of mirror adhesive and caulk the edge. If we can’t do it we have a member of the family that is in the build trade so no doubt he’ll help if we mess up 😂😂 we shall definitely report back on a video or the community page on how difficult it was when we come to install it. Hello Sonny, thanks for watching. We weren’t able to negotiate a price it was a set price, in fact our plot/property was the only house on the site to have its price increased based on its location, garden and drive. They called it “a special plot”

Hey hey thanks for the comment. We both work Full time in different industries. We saved hard and it took us approx 14 months to save for the deposit and a further 9 months to save for the options and extras. Hope this helps. 👍👍

My Son is buying a Bellway house and just wondering roughly how long after your first fix visit did you get your keys?
Evening Jackie. Many congratulations to your son 😀. We had our first fix meeting in Dec 2021 and picked up the keys end of January 2022 so around 6 weeks or so. 👍👍

That’s great to know as it’s been a bit of a journey so far.My Son reserved one of heir Mason 3 bed semi last March which he should have been moving into no later than this month.Due to unstable ground to the plot he chose the foundations had to be removed so is still just a hole in the ground.Luckily he has been able to move over to another Mason which is now nearly up to first floor.Due for completion between July- September.We have our fingers crossed.

We have a 13 years old Whippet and my Son bought a Whippet puppy last July.She has been a little terror haha. Chewing her toys up within minutes. I’ve lost count of the beds she has destroyed in her cage.Tried to dig her way out of our living room door so now got a patch of carpet missing. Only put down last year😒Seems to be finally leaving it alone now. Fingers crossed. Wouldn’t part with her though as the love and joy you get from dogs is unmeasurable.

That’s amazing thanks for sharing. Got to love dogs. So far limited environment and he’s doing very well with crate training, sit and stay, threshold and food manners so far so good. A few annoying moments for sure though 😂😂 and he did try and dog his way out of his bed much like yours.

Morning sorry for the late reply. Update wise, been struggling with getting a video up. Been very unwell recently and that garden video was meant to be up two weeks ago at least. Waiting on the inspection plates now and then patio is done. In the meantime we have finished a feature wall in the main bedroom so it’s likely that video will be next due to delays in delivery. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment and your patience and it’s probably hurting the growth of the channel with there being long between uploads but we’re doing our best.

I have a key tip for you..... DROP APPLE PRODUCTS. That is so awful you lost videos. Feel bad when you said that. Honestly, Apple is a waste. One cannot live without Windows. But Apple is like an independent system that if it didn't exist, we wouldn't be any worse off or miss it. But if Windows didn't exist, then we would think that kind of Apple "restrictive" computing... is computing. I feel like Windows is the WEST and freedom and APPLE is the East... centrally controlled computing. I am surprised it wasn't invented in Russia.
PS. External Hard Drives! Never trust any company to take care of your precious memories for you. They cannot be trusted and accept no liability for losses. I have 3 external hard drives. A main + 2 backups. One backup is simply a once a year update from the 1st backup. And the 1st backup I use every month (so only 12 times a year) to backup my stuff. I don't use the clouds at all. Samsung sent customers and email saying they are wiping their cloud in 12 weeks and moving to another one. So how useless is that? What if I went away and then came back or missed the memo. Wiped. Nah. You cannot trust them - only trust yourself.

When it happened I was livid with apple and spent a good 4 hours talking to them on their online chat and then on the phone. 100% agree I’ve invested into some hard drives myself the cloud is to unreliable. Wow imagine Samsung just moved and deleted everything. That would be so frustrating. Thanks again I really appreciate it 👍👍

Morning, yeah big news to be honest. The weeds are gone (ish) lawn is finally down and the raised sleepers have been ordered so they should be in within the next few weeks. Weather permitting. We have had a few set backs, a few really bad storms which destroyed our gate and fence so we’ve had to prioritise getting the garden secured 😕
