    I have had several fast cars but this is my first FWD car. I'm looking forward to my first test and tune with the Cobalt. I recently purchased an 09 SS Sedan with FBO's and a K04r. Car is about as fast as my cammed LS2 GTO from a roll. Best 1/8 mile in that car was 7.9@93mph. Hoping the Cobalt can get an 8.6@88. I'm only on NT555's so I am not expecting a great 60ft.

      Just watch wheel hop. If it hops bad invest in some good mounts before your looking for a transmission

      @@jasonwiddowson8892 Luckily my car already has those modifications as well. I have not experienced baby wheel hop with the car. Now that may change on a prepped surface. We shall see.

      Hello. Iv heard a few people in the past swapped over to a m90 without much luck. Making the same power as they did on a m62. I don't know why just what iv heard.

    Great tips! I have an LNF and just got into drag racing and road course...my personal best on a ZZP only tune is a 14.1...I'm surprised it's not lower (car is well taken care of with low miles, but probably driver or mediocre tires lol), I got the trans mounts and better tires on the way... hopefully I can get down into the mid to lower 13's as well...any other tips for launching? Optimum RPM, etc?

    • @jasonwiddowson8892
      @jasonwiddowson8892  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you it's hard to give an optimum rpm because it Varies a lot depending on your setup and Track conditions. More Traction more rpm. Sometimes I very mine depending on the track condition sometimes its 5000-5500 sometimes 6k
      No slicks your looking at like 2k. The tip I give people without slicks Leave the light like you're leaving a stop sine hard on the rd. Yeah a huge part of your time is launch. You get better at that you will see good improvement on your times

      Trans mounts and good control arm bushings will help everything from daily driving to road course to the 1/4 mile. Well worth it

      I ran 14.3 stock on my LNF now I’m making to much power with bolt on that I I running slower then stock I need a tire ASAP hopefully this year with how the world is now I can get back to the track with a tire and try get in low 13s high 12s

    I just got a 10 SS and am looking to make a fun street car with it, how big of a difference did the lsd make? I like the idea of having stiffer mounts but overall I was thinking roughly 300whp and some people say their clutch begins to slip at that point, so I was thinking it might be a worth while "while you're there" type upgrades

    • @jasonwiddowson8892
      @jasonwiddowson8892  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Understandable. The only bad thing is the cost of the transmissions these days. If you wanted something to help in the meantime you can get good performance tires when you start having hooking issues on the street. Good tire goes a long way

    You said don't mess around with the burnout in 1st gear... So you do the burnouts in 2nd? Do you launch in 2nd as well?

    • @jasonwiddowson8892
      @jasonwiddowson8892  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea I do a burnout in 2nd and launch in 1st. A burnout in 2nd gives the the wheel speed to keep going and get the tires hot. 1st the tires are going slower and I find they tend to grip and stop before I get them fully warmed up
