What I really admire about Volvo is the way in which they load their cars with standard features which BMW would charge money for as an optional extras.
This Volvo is like a bespoke tailored suit. I think it fits people with a certain type of personality. Personally I like Volvo's, from the old (ancient) 240 line to XC40 Recharge & Polestar 2 (wich is a Volvo after all). Best wishes Anna Alpina.

Here in the States you can get a 3 year old $50k Volvo for about $20k. (Thats what i did). Amazing value. Repairs can be expensive, however I can always find a friendly Volvo forum to find a fix for any problems.
BenMJay very true I just bought me a 2017S 60 with 10,000 miles sticker price was $38,000 I drove it for $18k. One thing I found out is that the best way to buy a Volvo in the US is to buy it three years oldold because they lose a horrendous amount of value in the first three years
Another fantastic review and production Anna! I did want to hear the word, "fluffy". Have always loved Swedish cars. Had a few...my current ride is a 2008 SAAB 9-5 in Snow Silver Metallic. About to go over 100,000 miles. In 11 years have spent a total of $2,700 on parts & labor, including all fluid changes. Has never once broken down.
With 118,000 miles on my S80 (2009), it is a great commute car (40 mi daily) in the crazy weather off of Lake Erie. It is hard to justify getting a new(er) Volvo when I could easily get another 150,000 miles on mine. My mechanic (a Volvo nut) states my car drives as if just broken in (because of proper maintenance). All and all, great perspective on such a nice car, Anna! And it love it being short, and to the point!

I have a 2002 Volvo S60 2.4Turbo...one of the best cars...and that inline 5 sound is one of the best...just need to make him crackles and pops a lil more and then it will be the real sleeper😋
I had only one Volvo, and it was... .an S60 T5 ! :) (2003 model, with the inline 5-cyl). And yes, Anna, you are absolutely right : Beige interior would fit it perfectly. In fact, it was my only regret: Mine was metal grey with black interior :( (one of the very few black interior car I ever owned)... i would have loved it in beige. And yes, Volvo is a clear challenger for the person a bit «blasé» with the usual german suspects A, B and M... I really loved my T5 (specially after I got the engine reprogrammed from 250 to 300 hp...). The atypical sound of the five-cylinder was quite unusual (it's the only 5 cyl I ever owned). My only critics, at that time was a) suspension wasn't as sporty as I would have liked (but it's not the purpose of the car) and b) the u-turn diameter was huuuge (of course, a transversal inline-5, what to expect?).. So, great video Anna, I really chime in with your comments.
I like the new Volvo range. So much so I've bought the new Volvo XC40. That too has the 2lt turbo engine. Only had it two weeks so still learning but I like the engine.
A great review. It amazes me how people still say it’s boring to drive when expecting 0-60 in about 4-5 seconds. Get a BMW, Audi or Golf R if that’s what you want! This car is about class. I test drove an S90 D5 with a view to buying this April, S60 looks just as nice and I love that Volvo are taking a different approach to the Germans.

"Salubrious" 😎 I had a Volvo V70 AWD Wagon. One of the best cars I ever owned. Volvo's have always had simple designs. I like them... Cars depreciate at least %20 as soon as the first tire leaves the dealer lot. My only problem was, my Swedish car didn't have a Girl on Swiss Roads 🤔👋😋

I have a few friends with BMWs, Mercedes, Audis etc that ask me why I got this, I always link them to this video. Plus Anna has a much more pleasant and convincing face than I do. She does sum up everything I like about it, its very handsome and subtle. I don't want anything showy.

Fantastic review Anna, I’m surprised you found the sport chassis on this r design not harsh at all, I’m driving a 2019 s60 t6 r design with the sport chassis & the polestar optimization for a total of 330 hp & 325 lb/ft torque, it is a beast of car but the suspension can get a little jarring sometimes, I guess I’m just getting old, specially coming out of a magic carpet ride of an s90, but you’re right, this car is younger, classy & beautiful
Check tire pressures, reducing a pound or two can create less impact harshness. If tires are low profile, then yes, the car will be harsher. Bigger tires are harsher than smaller ones.
Hi Anna, fun to see you back already. I agree with you that the automatic box in Volvon is stepless and can not be felt when it switches up. As I said before, my dad has the XC60 and it is wonderful to drive. Have you tried listening to the Bowers & Wilkins stereo? + It has a wonderful sound and extra when you set up the concert hall in Gothenburg and Listening to Sahra Brithman absolutely incredible sound. Thanks for your good movie BUT what happened to the rocks at the luggage ??

I do love the looks of the CLA better, but the comfort and drive of the S60. But to be honest, such small differences in terms of how much I prefer one over the other. Girl on Swiss Roads it’s amazing the brand loyalty for Volvo here in the states they have an amazing safety record.i just don’t like the Chinese influence Land Rover is going through that now .
Personally, I am not into infotainment nor such like. I am more old school. I prefer analogue dials, minimalist tactile controls, manual gearbox. But where is the choice.?? All the manufacturers seem to have gone the same complex confusing way.

I'm sure it is. I have a C63 coupe, but I've just found out my little sis is pregnant. I need a change to a four door saloon as it will be easier to bung the baby seat in, and less chance of me going crazy if the little bugger throws up or has a smelly accident. So with a heavy heart, the C63 has to go 😔@@AnnaOnRoads

Lexus ES sounds interesting. I'll look into it. Not a massive BMW or Audi fan. My first choice is the alfa Romeo veloce, though I think if I go Alfa again then I'll just get the quadrifoglio. Up to £40,000. Though an SUV wouldn't be such a bad idea. I could purchase a good car for around £30,000 and spend the rest of the money on the little guy 😃@@AnnaOnRoads
An SUV would be easier to load the baby in and out, although a crossover is also not bad! Have a look at the Lexus NX, a lovely car. I personally love Giulia but it is a sharp sporty car ;-) @@Baresi-Unico-Capitano

Very conservative, well kept and disciplined looking car, the mercedes has been nothing but too much rebel design, I hope jaguar does catch to this volvo, as their counterpart just seems to get already there.
