  • Hello there! This past month was a great one up here at Cerro Gordo! We had a lot of experts come to look for things like water, gold, and wood. We made progress on a lot of projects and even started some new ones.
Thank you all so so much for all the support over the years. It means the world to me!
Check out Jason at ‪@mbmmllc‬ and Dan at ‪@Danhurd‬ !
ALSO - I wrote a book! I have been working on this for almost two years now and I am SO excited to finally announce it. I put my put my heart and soul into this thing and really dug deep on making sense of these past 3+ years living up here. The book has all sorts of new stories, insights, and history of the town. I think it’s the best content I’ve ever made.
If you've ever got anything out of this channel, I hope you'll consider pre-ordering the book. It is a HUGE way to show support for everything going on and would mean the world to me.

I'd seriously consider what someone else mentioned a couple videos ago - the pump you have in the mine is insufficient for the distance you need to lift the water up - Swapping the pump out for a piston pump (or, overhaul the one that's already in the mine - an engine rebuilder could probably do this work!) is going to be the cheapest (and most reliable) option for you right now, especially as there aren't many people living in Cerro Gordo

  • @Laissez-faire402

Brent! Please don't trust the water dowser! He's scamming you!

  • @SomeOne-ve8tj

Didn't expect pseudoscience... I really like your videos but providing a platform for that remote pendulum stuff is bad. How does a printed map from Google maps even work when searching for anything? Where does Google save that paranormal information? It really makes my brain hurt because it makes absolutely no sense...

  • @shanesgettinghandy

Science FTW. Go with the hydrogeologist.

  • @oliviera5988

The water guy lost all credibility when he showed up his pendulum stuff.

  • @edgyesp

    Water Dousing is a joke.

  • @maxbowen6482

when he started swing a pendulum over a map i just had to skip him. what a joke

  • @Rachel-yz6hk

Bret, please don't buy into water dowsing.

Rob the dowser is also selling snake oil and quack remedy. He is clearly selling his own brand over and type of results. Any results need to be third party reviewed and no dowser has ever passed such a review.

  • @MongoosePreservationSociety

The worst hydrogeologist is better than the best dowser.

  • @holdeterholdet

"All of a sudden it will start circling in a clockwise motion". I have no idea of the science behind water dowsing but you can clearly see him move is hand in a circular motion before it starts rotation lol

  • @NooberTrOlL

As a fellow hydrogeologist, I can guarantee that in a fissured rock aquifer, as is the case in Cerro Gordo, you can't just figure out where to drill for water using any of the presented methods.

  • @krissy55066

Hydrogeologists would be a better investment than a dowser anyday, wishing you luck on all the projects at Cerro Gordo!

The water spirits be like "bring us the Google maps and the ruler"

  • @kawhiie1108

I've said this before but I really think something like making trails for the Mountain biking community could really bring a whole new interest and revenue!

  • @SnoDawg

Brent I hope you carry a Garmin In Reach with you as much as you explore on your own. One broken ankle on a rock that slips under your foot can be a real nightmare without some way to reach help. Stay safe up there, it doesn’t take much to be in real trouble.

  • @claraguzman6842

I would go with the hydrogeologist.

  • @timothyboles6457

The water is more important than gold, perhaps even more important than the hotel, and getting the hotel weathered in, is extremely important, both to you and the town. Can't wait to see if the water exploration is successful and a good and reliable water system can be quickly built.

  • @OneMorePutt

Hi Brent, I think you should place the book timecapsule under the spot where your car got stuck when you first moved to Cerro Gordo in 2020. It's an appropriate start point.
